It's a rich person thing. His family immediately went into legal and PR damage control when the sister raping thing broke in 2015. They have money and influence. If money and influence can't outright buy justice, it can certainly delay it.

There's a lot of "fundies" that are dirt poor, and if they pulled this shit, they would have been caught out a lot sooner. So, I don't consider what happened here to really be a "fundie thing." Covering up shit is tied more to economics.

No I disagree again, liberal cultures have this same problem, only it comes from passive neglect or aggressive defense, especially if the perp happens to be LGBTQ+. Though to be fair, many leftists want LGBTQ to have a P, & have advocated for pedo acceptance. The gay acceptance movement was plagued by pedos & trannies hanging onto their coattails and trying to synonymize themselves with gay people. Overall, the biggest open push for pedophile acceptance has come from the left in the last ten years. See: The Salon article, the Gay Men's Choir, Devon is Amazing, ect.

Pedos will infest anything they can worm into. It's really not a matter of ideology, it's a matter of what conveniences them the most.

I didn't say liberal cultures didn't have this problem. I just said that highly conservative ones have a higher tendency of having it. I'd say the same thing for highly liberal ones, too, where there are no rules, or boundaries.

This shit's really two sides of the same coin. Both ends of the spectrum produce the same results, and the most vulnerable people almost always end up being the ones who have to pay for it.

There's weirdos that will defend just about anyone. A tiny minority of people were defending Charles Manson up until they day he finally dropped dead in prison. The most common heard argument was that he wasn't actually at the Tate-Labianca house, and he's actually a wonderful humanitarian (or some shit)

The one that Styx made was that Helter Skelter was actually a hoax and really just the name of a nightclub, that the killings were drug deals gone wrong & Charles' friends used him as a scapegoat for their own actions by insisting they were brainwashed. I never looked into it but it sounds realistic enough to cast doubt on the "serial killer cult" narrative.
