The judge would know the nature of the cp and the approx ages and sexes of the abused, correct? Is judge Christy Comstock not familiar with DD? My major wasn't psych but something else and DDcame up in my college classes more than once. It's unbelievable he got bail and ankle monitor and house arrest ,(except for medical working church) AND access to his kids if in fact he had all of DD.

I hope the Keller's that aren't religious nutjobs (like her brother) step in to really be good support for her kids once Josh is in prison.
I am really worried that Anna's girls are going to get blamed if/when Josh gets convicted. If you've read any of the IBLP Wisdom pamphlets on sexual abuse, you know that women ad girls, even literal babies and toddlers, always get blamed for any pedos/sex pests in the family while said abuser is the victim. Josh and Anna's eldest is nearing puberty age. Here are the IBLP pamphlets (the ones the Duggars raised their kids on) on having a predator in the family. Enjoy the following:

1) "If the abused is not at fault."
2) "Lessons from the Bible on why you should have cried out more when your brother raped you."
3) "It's my mom's fault. She asked me to change diapers sometimes."
4) "The household wasn't as modest as it should have been because my three year old sisters sometimes let their skirts ride up or came out of the bathroom in a towel."
5) "If your husband is diddling your kids and he doesn't stop when you ask him, it's because you're not godly enough."
6) "There is no 'victim.' You just don't appreciate suffering enough."

And before you ask: yes, this is also what the Kellers were raised on. Josh and Anna literally met at an IBLP retreat and even after Bill Gothardt was outed as a serial rapist the Duggars never denounced him.

Isn't he allowed to be around his kids with a chaperone, though?
Yes, and they made Anna be the chaperone specifically which is probably the most retarded thing they did because Josh basically has control over her according to the cult teachings and Anna has proven she will defend Josh before defending her own children.

While there's never a good time to have a miscarriage, very early on in the fist trimester - literally days after they got a positive pregnancy test - is for the best. The zygote had to have been very unstable, and could have never survived longer. They didn't have months and months to get attached, to prepare the nursery, to have to give birth to a dead fetus like her poor sister Joy.

My heart goes out to Jill and Derek, in any case. They were obviously excited for their third - and probably only planned - pregnancy. I just hope this doesn't take Jill for a turn back to the Gothard - remember, a miscarriage is what convinced Meech and Jim Bob that birth control was poison to all future fetuses. They'll be busy pouring poison in her ear.

It must be especially hard when you have been taught and believe that life begins at conception. Logically, one can tell themselves and know that there was probably something wrong with the genetics or it was nature's way of getting rid of something that would end up a potato if left to exist, but people don't always think logically with this kind of stuff and emotionally it is hard especially if one had their hopes up.

I mean, even people with unplanned pregnancies, heck, even people that plan on aborting said pregnancies are known to get sad due to miscarriage even though they were technically "lucky." Mostly has to do with it being out of their control.

The use of "We" in this message is almost okay, and then it isn't.

"We were expecting a baby." Fine.
"We were thrilled." Fine.
"We started miscarrying." Wtf no.

Nitpicky yes, but I hate that "we" shit when it comes to something only one of them is doing.

Haha Judge won't suppress the evidence

ETA: Also gets blunt response from judge regarding the supposed Unlawfully Appointed Trumpers responsible for the evidence collecting. First time I'm seeing this as a legal argument.

Judge Has Blunt Statement For Josh Duggar After Team Tries To Get Child Pornography Charges Dismissed

By Jessica Rawden

Josh Duggar's trial still awaits and a judge weighed in ahead of it.

Josh Duggar over the past several months has made several attempts to delay going to trial and even dismiss his two felony counts on child pornography charges in recent months. The former 19 Kids and Counting star’s team had most recently put forth an argument related to some appointees Donald Trump had previously made. However, a judge wrote a lengthy opinion in response to the requests his legal team had put forth. Yet one of those portions, in particular, yielded a rather blunt comment from the judge at its start. Only four words were needed in fact:

This motion is frivolous.
The gist of the initial motion was that Kevin McAleenan and later Chad Wolf, an appointee from Donald Trump, were both removed of their position of Acting Secretary of Homeland Security after their appointments had been deemed not lawful. Then, as part of this case, the prosecution tried to argue the indictment should be “dismissed” related to the "unlawful" appointments. That will not be happening. To note, while blunt at the start, clearly the judge had more to say than the four short words listed above. Fifteen pages of words in fact, including:
There is no legal support for Mr. Duggar’s claim that an indictment handed down by a properly impaneled grand jury would be subject to dismissal due to an alleged Appointments Clause violation. Department of Homeland Security agents are sworn to enforce federal criminal statutes, and the Court is not aware of any reason why their authority to investigate crimes would somehow be undermined if the acting secretary of their agency were improperly appointed.
The entire opinion can be read via US Courts, and the full document relates to a slew of motions that Josh Duggar’s legal team had filed and that had been denied. Previously, there were four motions that were denied and one was waiting on opinion. The judge had weighed in orally but this new document gives more detail about a slew of topics the former TLC personality’s team had put forth, including the fact they had been hoping to suppress photos of his hands and feet.

A lot of the longer opinion relates to evidence that Josh Duggar spoke or allegedly willingly gave during the time of a raid on his business back in 2019. The judge has agreed with Federal Agents that Duggar was informed that he was “free to leave” and not under arrest during the raid, but the former reality star chose to say. While his lawyers argued evidence should be suppressed, the judge’s opinion states that the tone of the interview was “conversational” and that Duggar repeatedly refused to answer questions when he didn’t feel like it. Per the judge:
The total circumstances surrounding the interview demonstrates Duggar’s understanding that he was free to refuse to answer questions and to stop the questioning when he chose.
As per the hand and feet photos, if you can remember back when these motions were first filed, Duggar’s legal team had hoped to get some images suppressed that agents had taken of his hands and feet. The defense has contended those images show a scar on Josh Duggar’s hand that corresponds with prints found on the computer that had child pornography downloads on it and that the photos were taken because Duggar's body parts were plainly visible.

The defense, however, believed those were taken unwillingly should be suppressed. The judge disagreed, also noting: “There is no legal authority to suggest agents needed a warrant before they could photograph Mr. Duggar’s hands and feet.”
With plenty of the evidence still intact and not suppressed in this case, Josh Duggar is expected to go on trial starting on November 30. That was a move from the original trial date, which had initially been expected to go down this summer. In the time since his arrest way back last spring, the former 19 Kids and Counting star has spent most of his time out on bail and staying at a third party residence, where his wife Anna Duggar allegedly often frequents.

Is it normal for defense lawyers to come with retarded reasons over this?

I added another article since your comment.
Iwas surprised to see they're throwing Trump appointments under the bus , is JimBoob suddenly anti Trump? I know he votes R no matter who it is (I am kinda curious if they subscribe to the whole fundie thing of Trump is the AntiChrist and we are voting for him to literally bring about the end of the world thing)
BUT if he's distancing himself from Trump and Trumpers , what are political implications of that? boobie has all sorts of financial connections he doesn't wanna alienate himself from. I don't follow arkie pol at all

I don't think it's that complicated or idological. His defense team saw a long shot to have the case thrown out, and they took it. I doubt they're taking religious cues from JB.

When you pay top dollar for defense? Yes. They will find every tiny thing they can and throw it all at the wall to see what might stick - and if the courts won't consider it now, they can always bring it back up on appeal.

Death is too good for those who perpetuate such beliefs.

Yes. What @multiverse said, but also, a criminal defense lawyer's job isn't to defend someone's innocence, but rather their right to a fair trial. At least that's one told me when I asked how he could defend murderers and people he KNEW were guilty of terrible crimes, saying it wasn't his job to ask or know if the person committed the crime or not. It seems like the job is mostly about finding loopholes, no matter how obscure or frivolous.

Also to create doubt. They (Josh’s lawyers) just have to come up with the argument that he wasn’t the only one with access to the computer and convince the jury of this.

To be fair, the old "the messican fellow must've done it!" excuse runs petty thin when the password to your Linux partition is the same as your bank and Instagram accounts. And you text your wife about how busy you are at the car lot as the CP is downloading. And the first thing you ask the federal agents when the party van shows up is, "hey, who downloaded all that child pornography?"

I legitimately cannot think of a way that he could've possibly made his arrest more cartoonish than he already has

He's 100 percent guilty and I would be shocked if he doesnt go to jail.

He's 100% guilty and I'll be shocked if he does go to jail. I fully expect his nice, shiny lawyers to plea bargain it down to community service and probation.

Can you even do that on child porn charges? This isn’t a low level, state crime. This a full fledge csam case at a federal level, with likely multiple charges as he downloaded content several times. Each download I think is one count. I looked it up and found this tidbit:

Most defendants who are charged with Possession of CSAM are also charged with two other felonies: Distribution of Child Sexually Abusive Material (MCL 750.145c(3)) and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime (MCL 752.796). The “Distribution” charge carries a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison and a fine of $50,000.00, and is usually charged when the defendant is alleged to have obtained the materials through internet chat rooms or peer-to-peer networking. “Using a Computer to Commit a Crime” has a flexible maximum sentence, depending upon the underlying charge. In the context of a Possession of CSAM case, the maximum sentence for the “Using a Computer to Commit a Crime” charge is seven years. Significantly, in the event of a conviction, the court may order the sentence for this charge to be served consecutively.

Now I understand as a first time offender. The sentencing wouldn’t so harsh however I just don’t understand how several charges regarding csam could simply be pleaded down to community service. Has that happened before?
