The Queen spent Wednesday night in hospital for preliminary medical checks and is now back at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace has said.
The 95-year-old monarch returned from hospital at lunchtime on Thursday and is "in good spirits", the palace added.
The Queen was said to be "disappointed" after cancelling a visit to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.
She was given medical advice to rest for a few days, after a busy schedule of public engagements.
In a statement on Thursday night, Buckingham Palace said: "Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits."
The Queen was seen by specialists at the private King Edward VII's Hospital in central London, about 19 miles (32km) from Windsor. Her admittance is understood not to be related to coronavirus.
The overnight stay was said to be for practical reasons and the Queen was back at her desk undertaking light duties on Thursday afternoon.
The King Edward VII's is a private hospital in London's Marylebone used by senior royals, including the Queen's husband, the late Duke of Edinburgh, who received treatment there earlier this year.
It has been a busy period of official engagements for the Queen.
She was pictured hosting a Global Investment Summit at Windsor Castle on Tuesday evening alongside Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
An official record of the Queen's diary showed at least 15 other formal events during October.
On Wednesday, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said the monarch had "reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for the next few days".
He said the Queen was "disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland" - which would have involved an overnight stay.
She is expected to lead a royal delegation to the Glasgow COP26 climate change summit in two weeks' time.
Earlier this week, the Queen declined a magazine's award of Oldie of the Year, saying "you are only as old as you feel".
She "politely but firmly" turned down the award, but sent the Oldie magazine a message with her "warmest best wishes".

Just a preliminary thread for now, but it's worth keeping an eye on, pretty sure this was how it started with Philip...

RIP your majesty. Monarchies still suck though.

Seems some people are taking this news well...

I think this was a Betty White situation, she was a part of the "background" for quite a few people, especially for those countries in the Commonwealth. I guess the biggest praise would be she was fairly competent and was extremely sturdy as a "leader" with no major scandals she herself was int he centre of (that we know of). I'm just looking forward to the Public Holiday the colonies will get so we have a day off work.

I mean no matter your views, the fact she was in power for almost 70 years(!) is nuts, she was the constant face of the entire monarchy and most people found her inoffensive at worst, which for as long as she ruled, is a legitimate feat in my book. It still feels weird seeing people referencing "King Charles".

With that said, the rest of the royals are dogshit and the Queen will definitely be viewed as the "last" monarch. Charles is a fucking mongoloid, his wife is viewed by many as a whore who fucked her way to her position of influence, and Diana's sons are neutered morons who can't decide what they want to dedicate their time to apart from infighting.

Don't worry, she's about as dead as Near is.
She's just moulted that skin and moved onto the next one.
That's how the Lizzad Peeple do it.

In all seriousness she was a dependable figurehead in an ever changing world. Good on her.
Sadly the royal family is morons and paedos all the way down now.

So there seems to be an even split on Queen haters and Queen supporters.

Any Anglo's or others in the know care to shed some light? Why would anyone hate her, didn't she just sit around most of the time pretending to still have power when most of it was stripped away from the royals? Or is it just angry blacks and browns gloating over a perceived 'win' against whitey who in the past ruled them and gave them nifty things like roads?
It’s basically:

>Irish-American larpers who think it's still 1856
>Indians and Middle Easterners who've been brainwashed by their shitty governments into thinking all their problems are due to the British Empire
>Nazis who think Germany would have won WWII if not for Britain
>Commies
>Socialists
>Lefties in general really
>Especially modern wokeists who blame Britain for everything from the slave trade (all of it) to the concept of gender
>Various Europeans and Latin Americans who are salty at Britain for [insert lost war here]
>Europhiles who hate Britain for ruining their globohomo club
>Black supremacists
>Russians who think they would rule Eurasia if not for Britain
>American nationalists who think it's 1776

The Queen even got Putin and zelenskyy to agree on something, two men who are currently at war. The irony is that the people who view her the most positively are common folk.

In the end, it’s republicucks and amerimutts who are seething that they don’t have a non-political figure head that everyone likes in their country. Kiwi farmers who haven’t touched grass and are sperging about history doesn’t change the fact that her reign will be remembered extremely fondly. Even moreso with the shitshow that is the euro sphere now.

Founding Fathers rolling in their graves right now.
Considering how the UK became an ally so early on in the beginning of America, I think they were be rolling at the state of the political parties (or existence of if you’re GW) in the country.

The Queen is Dead Long live the King.

But In all seriousness I have to admire despite being royalty she drove an ambulance (in WW2 fun fact) probably saved many lives, Spent most of her time outdoors and hunting, and definitely could have had things gone worse. Remember she had witnessed all the horrific administration decisions the UKs government made since the 1950s

So earlier today when I heard the news, I asked my phone to play God save the Queen. It started a playlist with God save the Queen... by The Sex Pistols. It was then followed by Anarchy in the UK. Gotta say, pretty appropriate.
