I remember a few years ago we had lesser problem of people making 1 sentence threads on some random deviant shmuck and then immediately go to said shmuck and yelling "Omg you have a thread on the Kiwi farms you gotta do something about it!"

This is a safari, not a petting zoo. Enticing people to come here under the guise that your just some concerned person who just happened to see your thread on them is the safari equivalent of waving food out the window. Doxing people without actual information is like shooting out the window to get a response, but you only have blanks. Sure you'll more than likely scare them, but there's also a chance you'll piss them off instead, and at that point you're on your own dude.

exhibit A folks. fuck me is this dude a dramatic tryhard. if you wanna add someone's info to a thread and you're positive it's that person then just do it, post only that info, and say unconfirmed. if you're completely certain, post it and/or ask OP to add it to the OP. Doxing isn't the problem. The problem is that dramatic dipshits like Exhibit A publicizing these threads and making them out to be doxxing campaigns (which they fucking aren't and never were) and in turn egging on those they are about. the problem isn't doxing. it's dramatic tryhards acting like newfags thinking kf is their personal army. fuck off back to pol, king.

exhibit b was the fred fuchs geolocation attempt. again, fuck off back to pol. if you find where he lives, great, post it and add it to the OP. if not, don't post "here's the general area where he lives, does anyone else want to dig deeper?" that shit's just dumb. we're here (I'm here, anyway) for laughs, not for justice. if some cow stumbles their way into their own thread, the proper response is to milk them, not play tough guy and pretend "we're all a team here to exact justice upon your twisted ways!" we're not.

i don't know if there's a clever and precise way to make this into a rule but perhaps there should be a kind of "not your personal army" disclaimer, or a "don't take things too seriously and publicize your intent to interact with law enforcement," "don't threaten to dox cows that wander into their own threads." you'd think this would be completely obvious given the nature of this site but with two back-to-back high profile threads apparently some spergs have sprung into action.

I always assumed this. Generally speaking aren't we supposed to just be observers who also laugh at people? I think some of the newcomers may have gotten confused when so many cows kept coming to the boards.

But you just follow Chris rules. Don't contact him don't talk to him from the site. Just watch because he's far more entertaining on his own. If someone's still not that entertaining by following these rules they probably weren't that great of a lolcow to begin with.
 
In all honesty, you should never post something to the farms is just to seem cool or to gain attention to yourself to make yourself look like you're good at something. Either you post to a thread with valuable information or a good point or go lurk. I don't understand how this isn't common knowledge by now.
 
Just leave the dox to the trusted people and don't automatically scream your intent. The best people usually stumble across it while looking for other material on a lolcow.

Doxing is like a puzzle and each piece needs to connect to other pieces around it. Just because one side fits, doesn't mean it belongs to that puzzle.

This is how almost everyone behaves here lol, aside from raging or analyzing the cows' shit. I'd be willing to bet more than half of the posts on the forums involve some degree of the poster trying to elevate themselves above the cow being discussed

I think dealing with it case by case is more appropriate. That would just devolve into a dedicated infighting thread that would neither contain the infighting nor resolve it. It would be merely amplified and spiral outward from there.
 
The people that need to read this won't or won't be able to comprehend. This just keeps happening more and more. Still feel like the best option is to just halal them, this has been a problem before
 
tbh a lot of us fuck around here. We ironically say we'll dox someone's cat, dog, goldfish, ect. When we actually do a dox that info is verified. Usually with another doxer (unless it's some tard like in BP using the same user name EVERY FUCKING WHERE!). We try to be accurate. That info is archived then released. We use google and paid sites. We dig though social media profiles for clues. We use sites like Whois. Then we double check and cross check. Some major doxes we use teams. That's my doxing 101 lesson for the year.
Edit: but we don't tell anyone until that cock is dropped...
