Doxing people is unnecessarily threatening if they're just a sad sort of sperg who loves trains a little too much or something. As far as I can tell people often freak out when their personal information is revealed online because it's literally someone saying 'I know where you live'. It's intimidating, which can be funny if they did it themselves but is just sad when people spend way too much effort on it.
I mean, doxing Shadman is vaguely understandable considering his (minor) e-celebrity status at the time, but doxing someone like one of the youtubers from the 'Elevator Enthusiasts' thread would probably be a bit overkill.

I'll just say if you post your information on the internet for everyone to see it's public domain we can do whatever we want with it. It's when people take it too far that it's no longer entertaining and just downright retarded.

I came here from Something Sensitive. Back there, they had a group of trusted people that did the Doxing, because they were proven to be good at it. They called it DOXXNET, and took anonymous tips but didn't publish results until they were confirmed without a reasonable doubt, and that the target was worthy of being exposed.

This is not a suggestion, just some experience from another forum that dealt with creepy internet people.
DOXXNET was responsible for exposing AAtrek, the Convicted child rapist SA mod, Early research on Shmorky, and our own Richard Jones, AKA Fire, AKA Buffalo Bill.

Unless the lolcow is someone who has shown illegal intent (e.g., Shadman), then I don't generally support doxing. Unless it is done for private use (refer to Keemstar), or if it's done for the shits and giggles making the person blangery, then yeah just don't be a dick about it.

Sometimes its not necessary for someone to even make a threat for someone to know they're being doxxed. You can tell you're being doxxed just by searching yourself on archive.is.
If you see your name/names popping up a lot with archives made all within the same day its a dead giveaway that someone is digging info on you.

I have a schizophrenic relative that bit the ear off a guy who got in his face for calling him a freak, you antagonize a fucking nut you get what's coming to you.

No, calling a schizophrenic a freak does not mean you have grievous bodily injury "coming to you". Schizophrenics are freaks. It might not be the wisest thing in the world to call them freaks to their faces, but that's because they are unpredictable violent freaks who might unreasonably and unjustifiably attack you. All of us have the moral and legal right to call your spastic nutjob relative a freak, and it's pretty obvious to me that he clearly is one. Nobody has the moral or legal right to bite off peoples ears for calling them names.

For what I've seen KF is gettin this reputation of being something between 4chan and ED, And since those have been already hit with dumb basement dwellers who like to play cyberbully, they seek to plague KF too. They probably did not expect this site to be moderated as well as it is though, I myself gotta admit I'm impressed by the work you do.
The mod approval for dox is a nice idea!

Oh, you mean, like a certain someone likes to do on occasion?

(Incidentally, he got everything quite wrong, as it would be expected).
The pepe avatar was a huge, huge red flag.

And once more to the surprise of no one, Null has given a comprehensive guide as to how we aren't any better than the cows.

I'd say we are better than this but by judging the evidence alone, where clearly aren't.

Stay classy kiwis.

Not all are, I'd say it's a 50/50 split on whether schizos behave in a strange manner. Others take a more subtle form that require quite a bit of "logical prodding" to expose.

All in all they're generally as exceptional as your average cow tbf, at least those nutters have a reason though.

Except there is... They can delete everything, spread misinformation, hide personal details, etc. Shit they should have been doing in the first place. Shit they would not be doing if you didn't give them a very polite heads up.
Can confirm this from Personal and Second hand Experience.

Thankfully, everyone that hates me is bloody Exceptional.

I can agree that DOXXNET did good work, but it also generated a lot of drama. I used to lurk there and remember quite a bit of posting on SoSe of the "Have you got dox yet?", "Well, we're working on it", "DROP DOX YOU FAGGOT" variety, arguments about whether or not certain information should be posted in a dox and so on.

I'm not saying it couldn't work, but it would take careful management.

None of this is wrong, a lolcow threatened to dox me for dropping his dox (that was acquired with help), so I went out of my way to make it harder for him. He still has not found it.

Doxxnet got some interesting stuff and seemed to work for them, but there were far fewer people on SS even at its height than on KF. The thing is it's generally pretty easy to pull a thread and dox somebody who isn't taking care, and that centralised thing would simply cause drama when other people can access more or less the same information. Early Chris trolling had periodic massive tantrums over "hoarded content", unreleased material that an inner circle had on Chris that was being sat on for one reason or another. That sort of thing would make a hell of a mess if it kicked off here.

I will prove my worth by doxing Dynastia right now. He lives on the planet Earth and browses Kiwi Farms. Details unclear if he wears pants while mercilessly killing trannies.

What is the point of doxxing anyways? It seems to contradict the whole observation aspect of lolcowdom and becomes a thinly-veiled personal army request.
It appears to be primarily used to upset people here who get upset by doxxing.

On occasion, the information can be used to identify bullshit from the lolcow, or find other fun sources of information on the lolcow. Knowing what city a cow is in can lead to items such as arrest records, prostitution advertisements, etc.

Doxxing is useful for meeting 'new' people!

So.

Dox me tender. Dox me right. Dox me tight.

That's interesting but I thought you found out that somebody was doxxxing you when I posted all your personal information on Kiwi Farms?
