Don't forget his support passive! Although more seriously the Middle is already so strong with Heathcliff I'm actually a bit curious how Matt Outis will turn out.
One thing's for sure and it's that she'll be an absolute gorilla of an ID, even more so than Heathcliff. Tons of HP, high defense and offense level, possible stagger-cancel (even if she doesn't have one, it's not an issue if there's heathcliff on the field), really high rolls, skill 3-2, 3-3, 3-4, possible passive burn count & potency every turn when at Laevatainn, and of course, that small chance she obliterates Kira Ishmael to boost her own damage.

I wonder if she'll receive a "free" S3 from a passive like Furioso / Closing Time / Extermination. If so then it could genuinely be the Kira Ishmael bisection, either that or just a stage unlock.

The sheer terror when you finally have Matthias Outis' most empowered Skill 3 variant and instead of attack weight you see a dotted arrow go towards Kira Ishmael

I'm thinkin something like Contempt Awe Ryoshu has with Fell Bullet Yi Sang, where she can replace Ishmael's counter with a clash guard at max tattoo. This guard would allow Outis to cheat out Extermination [Laevateinn] instead of having to go through a skill rotation, but would target Ish and prioritize enemies targeting Ish.

This seems to be the mascot base. I spotted it immediately and pogged out, but the store seems to be a to-go chicken store and doesn't really resemble Eubongs in any way other than that.

I looked around and most of the store names are "Owner-Name" Chicken. So i was only a mater of time before I found one close enough. "Taebongs Chicken". Right behind the two biggest ones, one of which seems to have a vaguely Yinyang theme.

The owner was an extremely nice man (I have a picture but it seems rude to post him) who seemed tickled to have an american there. I didn't bother him with any questions (place was very busy) so the current state of his childhood trauma is unknown. There was someone who looked like Eubong in game, but he was working in the kitchen and I only got a glimpse of him.

Fried chicken was very good but intended for groups, so it was basically chipped. There was a "full chicken" option but I didn't know what it meant at the time. I noticed that most people were eating in groups with gloves so I think I was just a fat fuck american wolfing down 4 peoples worth of chicken.

Which I was, to be fair.

I've got a few days until HHPP, so I probably won't be updating in a bit. Odds are I'll vanish on the public transportation system. There are so many parallels to warp trains and I haven't even gotten on the metro yet. Anything under an hours walk away is faster to walk.

Speaking of Matthias Outis, I really wonder how they'll handle her Unboxing / Laevateinn stages. If they don't overcomplicate it and make it tied to the S3, it'll be really good for Envy teams but pretty much nothing else, simpler Burn or Bleed teams will have a harder time getting the 6 Res for sure.
It could be something like HP gates + S3.
It would break some builds, but having her unsealing done by having her Middle allies die from attrition would be really cool. Have any red coins/failed clash target allies instead and give her unique charge every time her ally dies. It counters the weakness of the Middle dying to attrition.

Nah fuck that. Hold the counter button and it kills a teammate. Starting with Kira. Not like "During the counter", immediately. And it immediately starts the hold timer again and its SHORT so the first time you do it you are guaranteed to kill like, 3-4 people. And there's no benefit after the first one. And the benefit isn't even that good.

Also my Fullstop Healthcliff landed a full damage crit special round on Hard mode Rufo and brought us home on turn 23. I still don't know what the FUCK I was doing wrong I think it came down to not having enough envy resources during the bleed phase so I couldn't pad the sinking count.

"4 or more" would be Heathcliff, Ishmael, Sinclair and Outis, if counting modern Middle.

Get ready for Middle Outis reveal on Tuesday. Hopium has never been this high. (inb4 thumb heathcliff solo banner jumpscare)
 
Wonder if Thumb will also get a glow up. Tremor+burn is not a bad matchup, with the main issue is that it should be cumulative damage to make up for being way slower to build up.

I imagine it's going to be like the Index with Sinking. As in it's just going to be so much raw damage (Disposal, etc...) that the status doesn't even matter, except that they'll do even MORE damage with the Tremor - Scorch which does do quite a fair bit of damage, remember there'll also be Capo Meursault (and Soldato Sinclair if you bring him along), a really solid team already.

Anyhow, I just now discovered that the Middle counters are "6+ sum of Absolute Envy Res." so you don't necessarily need 6 straight Envy skills on the dashboard, but you can also do a pair of 3 Envy skills with another Affinity skill in the center of the board. This increases the flexibility so much.

Does anyone know why some skills in the Resonance chain stay as "Envy Res." instead of turning into "Absolute Res." despite being Envy and part of the chain like all the other Resonance skills? It's a little hard to explain, but rarely some skills end up just being Envy Res and ruining the Absolute Res chain (and not activating the Counter skill 3 conversion), and there's seemingly nothing I can do about it. Is this a bug or caused by something else? Imagine the last 2 skills in the screenshot being "Envy Res." instead of "Absolute Res"

FUCK the Rien and Pinky nursefather fights. I finally broke down after restarting so much that I used continues. A LOT of continues.

The skillbar doesn't actually communicate the real order of skills, i.e. someone who is staggered appears at the back regardless of their speed.
Since you are spamming counters what is probably happening is someone eats shit and gets staggered, and then they are in the middle of the lineup next round speed wise, but since their skill is "staggered" and that has no sin affinity it interrupts the chain.

i honestly did not find rien very hard tho i was using the full ring team, it did make me wonder if you can even beat the game with just the base sinners still tho since i noticed you cant even clash with alot of the base egos on his big fuck you moves.

I said I wouldn't do any updates til HHPP but it just hit me like the stinger from an HP lovecraft novel that every meal at a applebees and up grade restaurant is intended and priced for two and I've yet to see any fat, lonely chud wolfing down an entire set of kalbitong, and I haven't seen two young men together eating unless they were painfully and obviously gay or painfully and obviously soul crushed salarymen

And suddenly everything about the Ishmael riot makes sense like, on a date the woman essentially eats for free (unless they split the bill) and the chud is essentially paying double ALL THE TIME. So the woman doesn't actually feel like she's getting paid for and the chud feels like society charges him double so he doesn't go and like yeah no wonder there are no kids you've basically swept the leg on the concept of a date.

It's from this, they decided to make Refractal bosses permanent content, which I'd prefer if they're going to have such restricting fight gimmicks like the Shades. So for the future fights you'll earn currency in the form of "Burnt-in lens", which is then exchanged for rewards in the Refractal shop. Hopefully they'll back fill some Refractal bosses as well, I'd like for the previous Intervallo bosses to get some representation, even if difficulty and subsequently the currency they pay out is scaled to the point in the game they came from.
 
Unhinged schizo ramble: Seasonal Ryoshu will nerf the Nursefather IDs at the cost of hyperbuffing herself. Since they're in proximity of the Arayashiki, their old wounds will reopen again. Such as the face scar for Index Yi Sang, the eye for Thumb Rodion, the arm for Middle Outis, and uhh... I guess offense level down for Ring Hong Lu.

How this would translate in gameplay is up to anyone's guess, and this is already assuming that PM would be bold enough to do something like this, on top of if they even involve the Arayashiki in it at all.

She'll also uh... glitch and swap places with an ally as a form of Assist Defense. Why not. Oh and she'll whip out the Arayashiki and slowly erase every coin of Rien's Furioso for the Canto boss interaction.
