Most people are saying it looks like the event will revolve around something in Arknights called Abysall Hunters, anyone with any knowledge of the game care to chime in
I believe one of the folks here (the insomniac guy with Rosespanner Meursault pfp) explained it but I decided to take crack at it because I also played the Arknights game for god knows how long (2 days after global server release)

is gonna be long-is so bear with me:
So the world of Arknights is set in a location called "Terra". They are more or less an entire planet filled with a single supercontinent-like landmass (as far as we know) that is teeming with rocks that acted as the world's resources but it also infectious that makes you sick of super aids and it causes said landmass (not all of them) to be unstable as fuck due to catastrophe/natural disasters, so the people there built Mortal Engines/Homeworld: Desert of Kharak style "nomadic city" in order to not get hit by said unstable disaster/infectious rocks/both.

Each of the game's "faction" aside of smaller ones comes from the Terra's nationstates, which is thematically similar to IRL countries (or notable past civilization/kingdoms/myth IRL), but are vastly different in comparison. They themed around South Americas (Bolivar), USA (Columbia), Atlantis (Aegir), Japan (Higashi), Nepal (Kjerag), Israel (Kazdel), Vatican + American 2A (Laterano), Imperial Germany (Leithanien), Greek (Minos), Hawaii (Siesta), Italy (Siracusa), Russia/Slavic states (Ursus), Middle East/Arabian/Egypt-whatever (Sargon), Poland (Kazimierz), Spain/Portugal (Iberia), Basque country (Durin), Australia mining groups (Rim Biliton), UK + Scotland (Victoria), Ireland (Tara), Imperial China (Yan), Hongkong/Modern China (Lungmen), Fr*nch (Gaul) and Mongolia/Mongol Empire (Nightzmora).

And to further complicates thing, the inhabitants of Terra (Terrans) is filled with humanoid people that more or less similar to normal humans, but are different. They are classified as:

A. Teekaz
Teekaz is the first recorded denizen of Terra. Very complicated history, but the gist is that they were in terra first before B comes in. They comes in two notable flavors, the demonic jews (Sarkaz, from Kazdel) and the angelic gun-nuts christians (Sankta, from Laterano).

B. Ancients
They made up the majority of the Terra. Their history are complicated, but easy way to explain is that they come from previous animals that somehow become humanoid, but are separate from the Teekaz above. They generally have common animal-like trait (Cat, Dogs, Wolf, etc), either obvious or not.

C. Elders
Sub-variant of B, but they are technically way older than B and generally themed around mythical beasts rather than common animals. Kitsunes, Dragons, Pegasus, ancient mesoamerican bird, elves, what have you

D. Others
One that doesn't really count. This includes Precursors, the so called "ancestors" that apparently comes to Terra before and changed it to what it is now, Homo Sapiens/real humans (Arknights collab with Rainbow Six Siege, Ave Mujica/Bang Dream and Dungeon Meshi), Collapsals (fucked up shit) and Seaborn.

Oh right, there's also the AK's protagonist group, Rhodes Island. They're basically a pharmaceutical company who has a past as a mercenary group, and now they... kinda act as pharmaceutical company that does have PMC job on the side. The protagonist, Doctor, is mostly like Dante. Amnesiac figure thrusted to be the leader of said group, but slowly discovering history of themselves as the game progressed. Unlike Dante, however, Doctor is already getting some notable previews of their past stuff, so Dante still have some time to catch up.

As per the quote above, Abyssal Hunters are a group from Aegir, itself a Terra Nationstate that hides themselves under the deep Terra's ocean, having much better technology and comprised of AEgirians, aka fish people. Abyssal Hunters themselves are essentially the nation's supersoldier group that was developed in order to combat the Seaborn, which resides deep within the sea and terrorize not only the land but also Aegir itself.

Said supersoldiers are a dangerous combination of Aegirian willingly implanted with cells from said Seaborn. While it resulted in creating actual super soldiers with very impressive level of strength or what-have-you (higher than high-level fixers, I guess?), they need to keep said seaborn cells in check, or less the seaborn in them took control and well, they become what they sought to destroy.

Seaborn themselves are a race of aquatic beings that roamed from the abyss of the Terra's sea, and they're described as a hivemind of entity that sought survival of itself. The hivemind, "We Many", reached toward everything, consuming/subsuming everything in order to survive, and becomes an increasing danger toward Aegir but also the land, due to the fact that they are so dead-focused on "survival of self" that they will inevitable took over everything and everyone in Terra, if they're not stopped (or dissuaded from doing so).

One of the reason why they reached land is because of the work of a organization called "Church of the Deep", basically cultists who treat being part of fish hivemind utopia is more fun that living normally, and has sought to bring Seaborn to every landwellers they came across, starting from the nation of Iberia, who, at the time, suffers some great disaster called "Profound Silence" that causes the nation to be destabilized enough for the cult and seaborn to make slow expansion there.

Two of the Arknight's major story events (and 1 sidestory) involves these bits, with the character from Rhodes Island that is the Doctor and Dr. Kalt'sit (Hag) being sent to Iberia to handle the Seaborn activity and working alongside the Abyssal Hunters. One part involves dealing with a cultist group that targetted one of the Abyssal Hunter, Skadi due to possibility within her that would cause untold bad end, while the other part involves the Abyssal hunters (adding two new members, Gladiia and Specter, known as Laurentina) trying to reach and fix a forgotten lighthouse, which in turn, would lead them into one of Iberia's fabled lost ship, the Stultifera Navis, and also going after a Abyssal Hunter that went on his own directive, known as Ulpianus.

So, to connect all of this with Limbus Company, it's likely that for the collab, some sort of portal fuckery either:
- Thrown Seaborns (and the cult, most likely) into the City, forcing Dante and the sinners to deal with it. Arknight's characters might get carried into this whole mess too.
or
- Dante and the sinners ended up getting thrown into Iberia and had to deal with the situations involving the seaborns while being aided by Rhodes Island and Abyssal Hunters, likely during the period of two of Seaborn/Iberia/Abyssal Hunter related story event.

I'm leaning on the former, mostly because the way the PV quotes is saying makes it sound like the Seaborn appeared first, probably somewhere withing the City that has close connection to the sea. On the other hand, the quote didn't specified if they're in the city or not, so it's still a mystery either way.

But the fact is clear, we gonna fight hivemind fishes/squids/aquatic menace. They probably have a whale too, so chuck Ishmael at it.

I see. Makes sense as I remember Limbus being notoriously rigid about datamining. Seeing Huanshu assets before her trailer was a surprise.

Anyways to anyone here, if you could pick any old ID in the game to get remade with the same power-creep / gimmicks as recent IDs, who would it be and what would it play like? Personally it's NFaust since she's unbelievably plain for a Canto boss ID. She'd also hyper buff old N Corp IDs on the scale of Kong Lu because holy shit they're in a bad spot
R Corp. Not all their IDs are bad but they are a supposed to be super soldiers that make Heishous pale in comparison. They should get party wide buffs the more of them there are on the field (since they work in squads). Maybe have bloodfiend style global charge pool that improves them the more is accumulated and can be burrowed from if there isn't enough charge.

Really hoping this collab doesn't fuck up the canon of both series
It shouldn't be. At least on the Arknights side of things, their collabs does establish that while the collab characters (Rainbow Six Siege operators, the anime girls from Ave Mujica/Bang Dream anime series thingie, the dungeon party of Dungeon Meshi, etc) are more or less 'trapped' in the AK world, they are just a very, very small group of minority that their stuff won't change the canon of the AK's setting at all. And even if there's any potential gamebreaking changes that the collab characters bring (example: AK world setting does not know gunpowders at all, the rainbow six soldiers all uses them Possibility to give tech is there.), it's gonna be so limited and hard to reproduce that it would do jackshit.

On the other hand, with Limbus, you could argue that whatever that comes from Arknights into Limbus is already considered not-canon anyway, or if they had to, just chalk it up as mirror world stuff.

Really hoping this collab doesn't fuck up the canon of both series
With the giant Black Hole (Collapsal) in the trailer and marketing material, I'm more inclined to believe that this will be the Sinner going to the world of Arknights and thus fuck that up. To give further explanation, in Arknights Black Holes aka Collapsals are Warhammer 40K style warp demons that come crawling out of the Stargate system the Precursors (Ancient astronaut humans) made. They corrupt the land and minds of whatever they come into contact with, converting their victims into another vector of infection, even information about Collapsals can spread their influence.
So my theory is, Faust accidentally teleports the Limbus Company crew through a Stargate using the teleport door in the P Corp truck, getting the demons involved, while an attack by the Seaborn is already happening, leading to the Demons taking over the seaborn and forcing the Arknight Operators and Sinners to work together to defeat them.
In short, I think the event is more likely to fuck up Arknights lore than Project Moon lore.

They finally started teasing the Arknights Collab EGOs. The first one that will get it is Ishmael.

It's Ishmael as one of the Abyssal Hunters characters in Arknights, known as Skadi.

As a refresher, Skadi in Arknights is a rather aloof Abyssal Hunter who was introduced hiding her nature as Abyssal Hunter supersoldier (the Seaborn-Aegerian nature inside her body, which is a staple among all Abyssal Hunters) as a atypical bounty hunter and has been employed by the titular Rhodes Island (the Arknights protagonist faction) for quite some time now, before she was forced to be part of Abyssal Hunters once again and deal with Seaborn shenanigans, once to save her comrade, and another to help them find a lost ship of Iberia's long lost "golden age".

In a bit of hilarious irony, Skadi is often described and themed around Killer Whale/Orca, and well, Ishmael is the one who hunts whale in her blind obsession... so Ishmael became the whale she despised.

What would the corrosion look like, then? It would be so fucking funny if they just turn into an Arknights character when they corrode, given the ego background (this will never happen)

Maybe something like the below.
Skadi_the_Corrupting_Heart.webp Heroic_Martyrdom.webp
Skadi the Corrupting Heart to the left, and Ishar'mla the Corrupting Heart fighting the Last Knight (Seaborn Don Quixote expy) on the right
Her design on the left is her fish hitler mode. To explain, Skadi is explicitly a Kerrigan from Starcraft expy and that big sea serpent is both a Moby Dick and Starcraft overmind expy who's her evil fish dad (Seaborn she's hybridized with) who wants Skadi (Fish daughter) to continue his legacy of being fish hitler and wipe out all the humans. In an alternate universe she does what her fish dad wants and becomes female fish hitler, who's also a yandere for the protagonist of Arknights, the Doctor.

The best teams to do this with are either Rupture/Poise or Tremor. I'll go over the former since I've used it the most for MDE.
Slot & Field order wise, you'll want:
#1: Hong Kong
#2: Sidya
#3: Cockclair
#4: Sigor (or WuSang)
#5: WuSang (or Sigor)
#6: Xichunmael (Slottng her in 6 is important for the Cultivation: Cut, File, Carve, Polish Fusion gift)
#7: Cinqsault
(Then put the remaining Maos on slots 8-10 so Hong Kong gets more buffs)
Take every single starter buff and max them out (Star of the beginning++, Cumulating Starcloud++, etc.), for your starting EGO gifts, choose Golden Urn, Milepost of Survival and Crab Wine (S.E.A is only on floor 2 like Hell's Chicken, which takes priority because of Tango Marinade, Sharp Needle and Chicken Breast), try and fish for Line 2: Moebius on floor 4 to get Bridle and focus on changing everyones skills to S3, especially for Hong Kong, Sidya, Cockclair and Xichunmael. That's all the tips I have off the top of my head.

You can always run solo with Deici Rodya. she can solo pretty easy with the right setup, namely
  • Dieci Yi Sang on Support. Uptide 4 is ideal but 3 works fine
  • Fae Lantern Don on Support.
  • Dieci Mersault on support. Uptie 3, no need to uptie further
  • Zwei Gregor. Uptie 2
For starting gifts you want: Ashen Constellation's Blessing, the T Corp Badge, one of the dog plush, clean needle, or a cost gift. For the other gifts you want to get: Manor Music Box from Dregs of the Manor, the other pieces of the t4 dog plush, and the Bridle EGO gift from line 2. Hardwood Liqur cup is also good alongside Snake Slough, and Tenacity Bolus. Also the other solo gifts but they're eh!
Basically you want to replace all of Dieci Rodion's skills with her Skill 3s, so every time she discards one of them she gets (3 * 20)% + twice per turn (5 * 3)% + once pur turn ((5*3)%*1.5) of Max HP as shield while also having 4 protection. You end up getting around 300 shield per Skill 3 use and and 40% damage reduction. Basically you're unkillable and Rodya passive makes it so her Blunt Damage increases the more health or shield damage she takes.
edit: Or you could run a full Tremor team, but that's more resource intensive.

So.

How does one kill Dongbaek's spicebush?
Step 1 read the passive
Step 2 get pass phase 1 and enter spicebush
step 3 read the passive
step 4 just beat the bitch by diving up the attention between the trees and dongbaek you will probably be hit a bit (hopefully you have an id with more attack weight)
step 5 be extra careful around the blooming status effect that will rob your sinners
step 6 if you enter the duel phase your probably winning
extra step have a decent yi sang ID since he's prioritized will be selected for the duel phase
extra step just cheese it by using fluid sac geg since the only move you should worry about is culminating fragrance
Edit heres a video for winning the fight if your into that and hopefully you have relatively good leveled sinners since level is important
