I believe one of the folks here (the insomniac guy with Rosespanner Meursault pfp) explained it but I decided to take crack at it because I also played the Arknights game for god knows how long (2 days after global server release)Most people are saying it looks like the event will revolve around something in Arknights called Abysall Hunters, anyone with any knowledge of the game care to chime in
is gonna be long-is so bear with me:
So the world of Arknights is set in a location called "Terra". They are more or less an entire planet filled with a single supercontinent-like landmass (as far as we know) that is teeming with rocks that acted as the world's resources but it also infectious that makes you sick of super aids and it causes said landmass (not all of them) to be unstable as fuck due to catastrophe/natural disasters, so the people there built Mortal Engines/Homeworld: Desert of Kharak style "nomadic city" in order to not get hit by said unstable disaster/infectious rocks/both.

Each of the game's "faction" aside of smaller ones comes from the Terra's nationstates, which is thematically similar to IRL countries (or notable past civilization/kingdoms/myth IRL), but are vastly different in comparison. They themed around South Americas (Bolivar), USA (Columbia), Atlantis (Aegir), Japan (Higashi), Nepal (Kjerag), Israel (Kazdel), Vatican + American 2A (Laterano), Imperial Germany (Leithanien), Greek (Minos), Hawaii (Siesta), Italy (Siracusa), Russia/Slavic states (Ursus), Middle East/Arabian/Egypt-whatever (Sargon), Poland (Kazimierz), Spain/Portugal (Iberia), Basque country (Durin), Australia mining groups (Rim Biliton), UK + Scotland (Victoria), Ireland (Tara), Imperial China (Yan), Hongkong/Modern China (Lungmen), Fr*nch (Gaul) and Mongolia/Mongol Empire (Nightzmora).
And to further complicates thing, the inhabitants of Terra (Terrans) is filled with humanoid people that more or less similar to normal humans, but are different. They are classified as:
A. Teekaz
Teekaz is the first recorded denizen of Terra. Very complicated history, but the gist is that they were in terra first before B comes in. They comes in two notable flavors, the demonic jews (Sarkaz, from Kazdel) and the angelic gun-nuts christians (Sankta, from Laterano).
B. Ancients
They made up the majority of the Terra. Their history are complicated, but easy way to explain is that they come from previous animals that somehow become humanoid, but are separate from the Teekaz above. They generally have common animal-like trait (Cat, Dogs, Wolf, etc), either obvious or not.
C. Elders
Sub-variant of B, but they are technically way older than B and generally themed around mythical beasts rather than common animals. Kitsunes, Dragons, Pegasus, ancient mesoamerican bird, elves, what have you
D. Others
One that doesn't really count. This includes Precursors, the so called "ancestors" that apparently comes to Terra before and changed it to what it is now, Homo Sapiens/real humans (Arknights collab with Rainbow Six Siege, Ave Mujica/Bang Dream and Dungeon Meshi), Collapsals (fucked up shit) and Seaborn.
Oh right, there's also the AK's protagonist group, Rhodes Island. They're basically a pharmaceutical company who has a past as a mercenary group, and now they... kinda act as pharmaceutical company that does have PMC job on the side. The protagonist, Doctor, is mostly like Dante. Amnesiac figure thrusted to be the leader of said group, but slowly discovering history of themselves as the game progressed. Unlike Dante, however, Doctor is already getting some notable previews of their past stuff, so Dante still have some time to catch up.

As per the quote above, Abyssal Hunters are a group from Aegir, itself a Terra Nationstate that hides themselves under the deep Terra's ocean, having much better technology and comprised of AEgirians, aka fish people. Abyssal Hunters themselves are essentially the nation's supersoldier group that was developed in order to combat the Seaborn, which resides deep within the sea and terrorize not only the land but also Aegir itself.
Said supersoldiers are a dangerous combination of Aegirian willingly implanted with cells from said Seaborn. While it resulted in creating actual super soldiers with very impressive level of strength or what-have-you (higher than high-level fixers, I guess?), they need to keep said seaborn cells in check, or less the seaborn in them took control and well, they become what they sought to destroy.
Seaborn themselves are a race of aquatic beings that roamed from the abyss of the Terra's sea, and they're described as a hivemind of entity that sought survival of itself. The hivemind, "We Many", reached toward everything, consuming/subsuming everything in order to survive, and becomes an increasing danger toward Aegir but also the land, due to the fact that they are so dead-focused on "survival of self" that they will inevitable took over everything and everyone in Terra, if they're not stopped (or dissuaded from doing so).
One of the reason why they reached land is because of the work of a organization called "Church of the Deep", basically cultists who treat being part of fish hivemind utopia is more fun that living normally, and has sought to bring Seaborn to every landwellers they came across, starting from the nation of Iberia, who, at the time, suffers some great disaster called "Profound Silence" that causes the nation to be destabilized enough for the cult and seaborn to make slow expansion there.
Two of the Arknight's major story events (and 1 sidestory) involves these bits, with the character from Rhodes Island that is the Doctor and Dr. Kalt'sit (Hag) being sent to Iberia to handle the Seaborn activity and working alongside the Abyssal Hunters. One part involves dealing with a cultist group that targetted one of the Abyssal Hunter, Skadi due to possibility within her that would cause untold bad end, while the other part involves the Abyssal hunters (adding two new members, Gladiia and Specter, known as Laurentina) trying to reach and fix a forgotten lighthouse, which in turn, would lead them into one of Iberia's fabled lost ship, the Stultifera Navis, and also going after a Abyssal Hunter that went on his own directive, known as Ulpianus.

So, to connect all of this with Limbus Company, it's likely that for the collab, some sort of portal fuckery either:
- Thrown Seaborns (and the cult, most likely) into the City, forcing Dante and the sinners to deal with it. Arknight's characters might get carried into this whole mess too.
or
- Dante and the sinners ended up getting thrown into Iberia and had to deal with the situations involving the seaborns while being aided by Rhodes Island and Abyssal Hunters, likely during the period of two of Seaborn/Iberia/Abyssal Hunter related story event.
I'm leaning on the former, mostly because the way the PV quotes is saying makes it sound like the Seaborn appeared first, probably somewhere withing the City that has close connection to the sea. On the other hand, the quote didn't specified if they're in the city or not, so it's still a mystery either way.
But the fact is clear, we gonna fight hivemind fishes/squids/aquatic menace. They probably have a whale too, so chuck Ishmael at it.
