Slightly off topic but this just gave me a flashback to that one guy who reset his game at least 1000 times to get a shiny Treecko.
>1000 SRs.

Oh you sweet summer child you have no idea how much time we autism-powered shiny hunters are willing to waste to start a game with a palette-swapped pokemon that has a sparkly jingle every time it's sent out into battle. I think the most I spent looking for a shiny in a hunt I kept tally on reached 32,000 random encounters.

Imagine if Hisuian!Growlithe and Arcanine are part Rock-type, and get the ability Rock Head.

Now imagine if they both access to the move Head Smash.

Oh boy.
Flare Blitz and Head Smash with Rock Head? Yes please.

The way they described it as "fragile and only used at the perfect moment" makes me think they might have a gimmicky ability in the same vein as Minior or Eiscue.

I can't believe cute growlithe is fuckin extinct!
If gen 1 taunt us anything, as long as one of the growlithes pulled a fry's dog and got fossilized (sad music optional, crying also optional.), it should be possible to resurrect them like any of the fossil pokemon.

Now this makes me wonder, what other old pokemon have gone extinct, and we haven't known about. My hopes is get a ghost type eevee with the excuse of it being a regional extinct pokemon.

I know it isn't set far enough in the past but I still kinda want them to show us what pre-fossilized shieldon, bastiodon, cranidos and rampardos looked like. They probably won't, but I don't think they're going to be setting too many pokemon games in the distant past so now's the time.

I was thinking about that too, it be cool to see more “fleshy” versions of those Pokémon.

I bet they'll only consider that if they decide to explain the lore of Mew, given the species is supposed to be the origin of Pokémon, including the prehistoric Pokémon.

I get the whole point of playing legitimately and all, but sweet baby Jesus nobody in their right mind will blame you for just giving up and Gamesharking that shit after the 10th cycle. Shiny hunting has got to be in the top 5 most retarded things people do in video games overall.

So are we to assume the reason all these Hisuian pokemon aren't in any future games is cause they went extinct
Hell, their genetic line might have ended up somewhere else in the world, given how Pokemon's loosely based on Earth and I figure the existence of new Pokemon in newer games is just a silent retcon, because how else can you explain that they managed to figure out genetic manipulation before discovering Hoothoot, because nobody ever thought to drive south for about an hour

Maybe all the Hisuian Growlithes got traded away to Westerners during the Opium Wars and they all ended up in Pokemon's equivalent to Boston. I dunno.

I could see Pokemon Legends being a series for if they ever feel the need to go back and explain the lore for certain legendaries. It probably wouldn't happen, but I would love to see a Pokemon Legends Zygarde so that we could finally have the Pokemon Z in some form.

I would've agreed with you before we knew of Complete Zygarde. I love Zygarde as it is, but I really hate the stupid gundam form it has, and a Legends game would absolutely be focused around that. Why couldn't it just stay a big cool snake? What's a big robot got to do with balance and duality?

Look at this lil casual

Given that enough Dex entries, Pokémon Mansion, and the Faraway Island event (still can't believe Emerald lets you go to supposedly Guyana) are probably enough for base Mew lore.

Just not got to see the new trailer. It looks very alright. Probably not for me. But! I am glad to see them trying some new stuff.

Did it seem to anyone else as if whoever directed this trailer had just spent an entire night watching the BOTW trailers on loop?

I prefer the original formes of the mix and match fossils.

I'm glad that walking Pokemon seem to be making a return in the remakes. Still, I do not like the chibi style and the second trailer really highlighted how ugly I find them to look. The trailer also made me remember contests back in gen 4. I wish that they somehow made them more akin to how contests are in the anime, but alas.

I'm now pretty hyped for Legends. I can't wait to see what Sinnoh was like before. I wonder if the playable characters in Legends Arceus are the ancestors of Dawn and Lucas.

I'm honestly curious to see if the gym leaders have ancestors, not like I want to see Cynthia's grandma or granddad-
