They may be somewhat divisive among the fanbase, but the Ultra Beasts have to be one of my favorite ideas they've come up with in recent years. From expanding on the narrative of invasive species that Alola already carried to its absolute extreme (from species from foreign regions to foreign realities) to going completely off the wall with the designs of these freakish extradimensional aliens both visually and mechanically, they're fantastic.

Favorite has to be Xurkitree. Fuckin' wiggly mass of living wires with no discernible face that acts eerily like a plant despite not even being Grass type.

There's also the fact that, the ones you catch? Yeah. They are babies.

Looks like I've reached that part in mystery dungeon where shit gets real, like the fugitive arc in the first game and the ruined future in explorers. Though I sure didn't expect super to actually just flat out stone 90% of your new expedition buddies INCLUDING the player with Yveltal also threatening to stone the entire world for good measure. I didn't suspect Nuzleaf's involvement at all though in hindsight it does explain his random trips out of the village.

As a sidenote, on a gameplay level I like how they use the motivated status to give you an incentive to use your rando recruits more. Since move relearning is free you can pretty easily just fix up their movesets and give them a try, and with the ability changing badge I got myself a huge power Azumarill straight out of the maingame meta. Aside from that weapon of mass destruction, Charizard is probably my most versatile mon right now cause of its power combined with range, especially with heat wave being a spammable screen nuke.

The datamine for the upcoming Crown Tundra reveals a new item. While its name isn't known yet, it's effect is coded. It allows a Pokemon with one of its normal abilities to permanently switch over to its Hidden Ability. For those who play in non-official formats, that makes any Gen III and IV exclusive moves now compatible with Hidden Abilities, like Soft-Boiled Clefable now being able to have Unaware(It cannot learnt the Soft-boiled TM in Gen I, for the record, only the Gen III Tutor), and the Pokemon XD Psycho Boost Lugia can now have Multiscale. It also allows many event Pokemon, past and present stuck with their much worse normal ability to have their Hidden one, like the massive amount of Static Pikachu events.

If hacked into your inventory it is fully functional, but without a proper menu sprite or name.

(Was going to post this earlier, but I forgot too)

Obviously, that also means that all of the unreleased hidden abilities are now going to be released. From what I can tell, this is what we are currently missing

- Heatran (Flame Body)
- Small & Large Pumpkaboo/Gourgiest (Insomnia) (Regular and Super already have their Hidden Abilities)
- The Tapus (All have Telepathy)
- The Gen 8 Fossil Pokemon (The Dragon Type ones have Sand Rush, the Ice Type ones have Slush Rush)

It also allows you to obtain Lightning Rod on Ash Hat Pikachu, which normally only ever has Static.

Unlike Own Tempo Rockruff and Battle Bond Greninja(who are coded as alternative forms with the same ability in all three ability slots rather than being a normal Rockruff/Greninja with a super secret 4th ability slot), it is actually coded to have the same abiltiy slots as normal Pikachu, (Static[1], Static[2], Lightning Rod[HA])

I'm excited for Arctozolt getting it. It has the most to gain from the boost in speed since it doesn't have to trade a better ability for it (though Dracozolt could arguably enjoy Sand Rush too considering Hustle's awful accuracy issues) and it has a better STAB combo than poor Arctovish.

Hey so more shit from Gen 4's dev kit got leaked again this time "full development repository for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl" and some offical NDS emulator
even more outlandish shit as well but the article goes into more depth

What the fuck is that last part? "justification‌ ‌for‌ ‌distributing‌ ‌porn‌ ‌around‌ ‌the‌ ‌office"?

Apparently people found some beta sprites for Diamond and Pearl in the Gigaleak. Y'all, these are hilarious.

It seems like the back sprites were originally bigger, and a lot of them have significantly different designs compared to the front. What's crazy is that you can trace almost exactly who each of these pokemon are.

My favourite meme look is shitty Proto Regigigas. My fave serious design is either Proto Rampardos or Proto Prinplup.

EDIT: Just to get ahead of the ball here, the six-legged orange creature is giratina, and the goldish-grey shadow with ring eyes is Arceus, going by these photos with Dex Numbers:

Togekiss also looked a little badass.

Lickylicky was gonna be a dinosaur? Interesting.

Rampardos looks cool, but that posture is a disaster. Give me that Rampardos Skin on the canon one's frame, that's a masterpiece right there.
The pose honestly needed more work. Looks like he's trying to take a dramatic shit. Otherwise I like the beta Cranidos and Rampardos more, but again the pose and color scheme on the beta leaves a lot to be desired. Also what's up with the weird four-legged gas with red eyes? Who's that supposed to be?

I originally thought that was Giratina and Arceus was the orange winged hexoped, but turns out it’s the other way around. That’s God, everybody.
