On a sidenote I thought China had a habit of banning all foreign gohst stories, how the hell did pokemon get in considering one of its types is gohst?

I think it's because they're not specifically stated to be human ghosts, and resemble more as yōkai for the Japanese, which is an off-set of Chinese folklore their ancestors still kept when making their own culture (though Chinese ghosts tend to be malevolent in nature, and Ghost-types are known pranksters, which is kid-friendly malevolence). Only a few Ghosts are stated to have human spirits possessing them, but it's still written off as unproven.

But then again, human ghosts exist in the game, so it is interesting that got through their censors...

EDIT: Lol so this was a thing.

> They turned Pikachu into something like a tiger with huge breasts

So, we almost got an official big tiddy Zeraora... :story: ok, being serious for a moment, what gets my attention is that they use the word huge to describe those Pika tits, not big, not large, huge, can you imagine how different the franchise would be if that change was implemented? with Pikachu instead of being cutesy anime rodent turned into the most unsubtle furbait character ever created?

I wonder if "breasts" is actually meant to be "pecs", because unless they were viewing Pikachu as female, I think they were envisioning him as looking like this:

This is just a heads-up but a lot of Pokemon “fans“ on /vp/ are hoping that the Poketuber and competitive communities undergo the same upheaval that hit the Smash Bros. and FCG scene recently.
Some people are claiming it's due to a switch being backwards in the previous videos, imagine that game freak released something with an obvious error, but considering that their dealing with tencent I wouldn't put it past them. I said it earlier but the video was less for the fans and more of a sign of confidence with tencent. They have to make it look good as not to spook the Chinese market.

That’s what I’m hearing as well, although TPC company HAS fucked up with trailers before. Remember that tailless G-Ponyta that was shown off in the 24-hour stream?

As for spooking the Chinese market I’ve heard they’re not exactly liking Unite, mostly in part due to MOBA scene being as crowded as it is right now.

You didn't even post the original before it got deleted.

after the bulbapedia shit kinda got swept under the rug, I kinda don't blame them. I don't think it would happen unfortunately because poketubers seem very insular themselves but hey, considering how many people jumped on the series for cash and ad rev, if it did my prediction is everyone would eat each other alive before the next week.

I didn't think Dr. Lava would delete it in all honesty. Like why would he do that, anyway? Because "Pikachu" and "boobs" are in the same sentence?

(Also is that video for a different post? That's odd to have.)
That video was on his old deleted tweet by mistake. A lot of his fans thought it was an April Fools joke.

Did You Know Gaming is just desperate for new things to talk about. Even if those “facts” are wrong. They recently said that Tom Hanks was considered for Luigi in the 1993 Super Mario movie, Hanks was actually considered for Mario.

I don’t blame them, they probably got tired of reminding us every chance they get that DMA Designs was folded into Rockstar North.

(Sorry for mostly off topic post)

Ended up getting a 5 IV Grookey (with the shit IV being special attack) with its hidden ability through surprise trade a few days ago. Grassy Glide + Grassy Surge + adamant + max attack and speed = numerous ragequits.

To be honest, considering how fucked up Bulbapedia's dirty pedo laundry is and how many kids and pedo-looking fuckers are in this franchise, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if something like that happens eventually in the competitive pokeymanz circles.

I'm thinking it probably looked more ridiculous than Mighty Mouse.

I want to go back in time and put salt in the water bottle of the person who made Landorous-T for ruining Pokemon forever.
This reminds me of my complicated feelings about Aegislash; the design is badass, but I absolutely despise battling against it. Even with its nerfs in Gen 8, it can still be a nuisance.

To be fair there are a ton of stories that don‘t paint the competitive scene in a positive light. Hell, I mentioned some of ‘em less than a year ago.
Oh man, the cheating part really resonated with me despite being a TCG competitor back in the day (I still play competitive decks and some rogue decks, but I no longer attend sanctioned tournaments for various reasons). I remember reading some leaks involving NuggetBridge's (RIP) IRC channel a few years ago where some judges said that they'd look past obviously hacked/generated Pokemon (the Dream Ball Aegislash, Lure Ball Ludicolo, and Lure Ball Politoed that Ray Rizzo used during the 2014 US National Championships being a good example) if the offending player is a longtime competitor.

One thing I should mention is that cheating in the TCG is more obvious than in the VGC. Gimping coin flips has become so common most players use translucent dice for deciding coin flips and you occasionally hear of players getting reprimanded for stacking their deck, misplaying or "misplacing" cards, or looking at the bottom of their deck when they shouldn't. You also have tales like the Gino/Mees fiasco that lead to the offending player eventually getting a lifetime ban for stealing shit from an international player.

Back in 2015, I remember there was a controversy about a Smogon staff member trying to solicit sexual favors from numerous female users on Showdown, and then somewhere between a couple weeks and a month went by and the same thing ended up happening with another staff member. Smogon also handled it super badly. They did immediately permaban the person in question both times from both the forums and the staff, but both times they never gave a public message to all users, they just gave a notice about it to anybody who had a badged on the forums. (At one point I was, but I got my first badge months after that shit went down, and I haven't been active on their forums for a long time, so I probably don't have it anymore). The general public only learned about it because both times, somebody leaked the message onto /v/ (I don't think the person who did that ever got caught though).
