Is Pokemon (very soft) scifi with fantasy elements?

Fantasy with scifi elements?
I'd really not classify it as either type first thing on my list - calling it a monster collector or something would feel more effective. If you asked me to pin it down as one of them, I'd probably go with 'Urban Fantasy', with the later games leaning more into the sci-fi angle.
So this is essentially the 3rd time they've passed up the perfect opportunity to make an Electric/Fighting type. First it was Electivire (learns nearly as many Fighting moves as its own STAB and uses a lot of punching moves in general), then Zeraora (very similar to Electivire plus a signature move called Plasma Fists) and now G-Zapdos who dropped its Electric type yet has a move called Thunderous Kick. I don't get why they're seemingly allergic to that dual typing...
What makes it more entertaining is that it's flying type to match the theme of the others... except it can't fly. Not that that's anything new among flying types, but still.

How fitting that it now resembles another gen 1 pokemon with a 2 in it's name.

i feel like a LOT of the past gimmicks would have gone a long way towards making SwShit at least feel better. Having Contests or something similar to actually play into the "some people aren't combat autists" narrative that's supposed to exist in the world.

Even just putting dumb shit like secret bases or the underground stuff from D/P or ANYTHING to make the postgame not feel so empty. I can only force feed my 200 snoms so much gigantamax curry before it doesn't even get me hard anymore.

The worst part of SwShit imo was just how much of the story they had other characters throw a tarp over and scream, "I Promise There's A Story Here!" (May I see it?) (...no.)

Well that was a boring trailer. As expected, not too much new info and played too safe and nothing interesting. I actually almost fell asleep watching it because it was that boring.

In regards to my thoughts on Mega evos before (as in being brought back as new evos or alt forms), should regional variants also get similar treatment in regards to making them available in future games, if GF weren't a bunch of procrastinators? As in introduce a new evo stone that basically "resonates with the aura of its homeland" to make certain pokemon evolve into their regional variant or having hold said item to produce an egg of a regional variant? They apparently did something sort of similar in Pokemon Go from what I'm reading with stones named after regions.

I absolutely hate how this game's actual content is the Twitter memes

My interest for Pokemon is kinda going away because of GF's awful state with SwSh, but I decided to watch WolfeyVGC's YT content cuz they're pretty entertaining. So, there I was doing my own thing so and I watch his video about the recent SwSh DLC trailer and he actually points out some good info from what's he's seen:
-Since all (or most) legendaries are coming back the competitive scene will be absolutely full of them. Not to mention D-max Geomancy Xerneas will be a pain in the ass to counter unless GF makes the returning legendaries unable to D-max (or Smogon makes them illegal to D-max)

-Certain returning mons, like Seadra and Politoed, will bring back old metas

My disappointment towards the new Gmax forms has never been so bad, especially with Cinderace, that grass gorilla and Inteleon. And don't even get me started with Blastoise and Venusaur. Blastoise looks like a robot version of Turtonator with a bunch of turrets on the shell and MY BOY VENUSAUR has a massive flower surrounding it like Toxapex and their vine whips were slapped onto it.

This is just awful character design and even the Megas looked better than this ffs

Oh yeah Eiscue's design is so awful and bland that I want to feed it plastic straws. It's design is nothing compared to the Resist King Empoleon.

Seadra yes, but ever since Pelipper got Drizzle Politoed's been completely outclassed (reliable recovery, better typing, U-Turn, Defog, Hurricane ect.).

I remember that in the early anime, Gary said Diglett can dig at light speed or something like that. Combined with Diglett being a ground type, that means a Diglett could kick Sonichu's ass in racing or battle, if the "Dimensional Merge" really happened.

Remember when Mr. "I want to be the worlds Greatest Pokemon Master" actually thought to, you know, CAPTURE a random Pokemon? But instantly blew off whatever credit it gave him by sending it to Oak, despite only having five on his team at the time?

Imagine, getting a decent, fully evolved Pokemon that for all we know, could have prevented Charizard from going rogue?

I was always disappointed in how Ash handled this.

Guess he saw no potential in being "friends" with Muk. Ironic, considering Muk is literally the friendliest monster he has in the Oak storage.

Found this on Smogon and it doesn't appear that it's been posted here, so I might as well.

The names of all the new moves for the Move Tutor were leaked a couple weeks ago, along with their types, and for a couple what they even do

Coaching [Fighting]
Corrosive Gas [Poison] (Salazzle's ability as it's own move)
Dual Wingbeat [Flying] (Hits twice)
Expanding Force [Psychic]
Flip Turn [Water] (U-Turn / Volt Switch clone)
Lash Out [Dark]
Meteor Beam [Rock]
Misty Explosion [Fairy]
Poltergeist [Ghost]
Rising Voltage [Electric]
Scale Shot [Dragon]
Scorching Sands [Ground]
Skitter Smack [Bug]
Steel Roller [Steel]
Terrain Pulse [Normal] (Weather Ball for Terrain)
Triple Axel [Ice]

Some of these moves sound like they could have a decent amount of potential, although to be honest a lot of them are pretty vague. The ones with confirmed effects are interesting for the most part.

I stopped keeping up with the animu sometime around the Orange Islands with that "Tracy Sketchit" guy. There's a chance I missed a lot.

Also I really thought onigiri were white powder spherical donuts.
Last time I watched the show was ages ago when Ash won the Orange League.

I remember being bummed at the time because it didn't have preliminaries and the trophy he got was like some shitty little participation trophy when compared to the big ass trophy from that ghost pirate ship episode right before it that I can barely remember.

Still I guess it was a good enough "conclusion" to the show for me at the time. Last thing I remember from that show while surfing channels was seeing him finding a Totodyle that sounded like Donald Duck and I just didn't care.

I read the GS Ball was just forgotten.

(it was supposed to have a Celebi in it)
Aw geez I wish you hadn't reminded me of that shit. Personally back then I always thought that he was gonna use that thing to catch Ho-Oh. I remember at one point probably years after the Orange League looking up to see if the ball ever amounted to anything and they just gave it away and never mentioned it again as if it were Primeape. What a lame ending to that plot line.

Why didn't they just have the GS ball in the movie?
That actually sounds like it would've been a good idea. I only saw the movie I think once or twice on TV, but it was about Professor Oak traveling in time as a kid with Celebi while fighting a masked guy right? Maybe they should've had it so he found the ball in an old shrine like in the games and the ball had Celebi in it which tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future upon releasing it. Maybe have it so the past ball gets taken by Celebi at the end and dropped in the orange islands ocean in the past while the future ball gets destroyed or taken by kid Oak who then opens his closet or something in the future and its revealed he had the ball along and just wanted Ash to go on an adventure. There, an easy little conclusion that doesn't contradict anything I think.

Was there ever any intention to put the ball in the movie at all? Feels like a easily missed opportunity to give a solid conclusion. Also while were on the subject of the anime, did Primeape ever actually return from boxing training or not?
