Same verse same as the first, if he does, then frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if people started leaving.

I mean, if you look on his channel, he did a Luigi's Mansion 3 video, and it didn't even come close to his PKM vids. The guy's a one trick pony, and he knows it. Frankly, I'll be glad when his channel crashes and burns.
How long until DK gets his own thread? It'd be hilarious if he finds it and his drones lose their shit about it.

Can somebody explain this IStandWithSerebii hashtag to me?
Everybody keeps saying that the dude who runs the website is being harrassed by taaaaaaxic fans just for reporting the news but when I did some minor digging, I couldn't find any harassment and the whole thing just smells like complete shit to me and I don't buy it.
If he's getting shit on by the pokemon fanbase and it's not because of woke shit then he must have actually said something fucking stupid because I don't think that many people are that dumb to attack a dude just for reporting the news and all of these apologists for the game's flaws will do anything just to make the other side look bad and I feel that's part of it. I'm playing the game and enjoying it but all of this corporate cocksucking is pissing me off.

There is literally no evidence that Joe Merrick has been harassed at all. There are some tweets about him being a shill, which somehow translates to death threats in his tiny mind. Honestly the most extreme tweets I've been able to find are from that TheRealDio guy, there hasn't been many threats thrown around if any about Pokemon. Certainly some meltdowns but I've seen no calls for anything even close to violence. If there were any they get deleted so fast that it doesn't really matter to begin with. Joe needs to get a grip on reality, anyone who might have threatened him is a greater danger to themselves than anyone else. He likely saw a way to promote his website since Game Freak fucked him with literally zero PR for Sw/Sh to bring in traffic. He still insists on sucking corporate dick though.

I guessed as much but what even lead to this? Like how is it even a hashtag and what did he say to stir up to any kind of criticism that made him resort to playing victim? I've looked around to try and find out myself but twitter is a complete shitstorm and all of the articles written on it are complete one-sided bullshit. I just want the truth about this shit documented somewhere so legitimate criticism can't just be brushed off as some kind of hate campaign yet again.

Well first you had a thing called "Dexit" or "BringBackNationalPokedex" when Game Freak announced at E3 that they would be permanently cutting the roster of Pokemon added to future games, including Sw/Sh. People went berserk, it became a huge hashtag thing on twitter. As we came closer and closer to release news literally trickled out, ending a 24 hour livestream of basically a gif with random Pokemon appearing for a second. At the end Galarian Ponyta was revealed. This turned things from bad to worse, people suspecting the game had cut a lot more than GF had revealed. This was the last bit of hype news for old Joe to get on his site besides SirFetched. Things exploded when someone started to leak out all the new Pokemon and finally the regional dex number of 400. There was an explosion of outrage especially in Japan as there was no formal announcements about the dex cuts over there. Joe whiteknighted hard for Game Freak and locked down his site from any potential "leaks". So he took a lot of ire for this stance, he initially said he hated that they cut Pokemon from Sword and Shield. Then the other side of Pokemon spectrum came out with ThankYouGameFreak which he was a major part of, the Pokemon (GameFreakLied/FuckYouGankefreak), autism war took off into the full trashfire it is now. Then Joe really pulled into his hugbox with other autists and somewhere in there IStandWithSerebi came into being. It's all been very entertaining to watch. Basically it's middle aged people and autists pulling their hair out over Pokemon and it's glorious.

OK, my turn to grieve.

Ever since the announcement of the cut Dex, I remained optimistic because "Surely they'll patch them in once they're ready." It's Pokémon! They won't let a single Pokémon be absent cos that's ludicrous!
Then it was confirmed that no patches were gonna happen... I remained optimistic because they'll just have 500 or more Pokémon for the national Dex.
The Dex leaks happened days before release and I didn't look at them because I went with the spirit of Gamefreak surprising us as we played the game.

The game came out, got both games and played Sword first. Wow! This looks amazing! They're actually using proper English! Made feel at home!
Gameplay is alright, too many cutscenes and I didn't really care for them. I HATED S&M's beginning portions because of how long it takes to have more roaming space and how bad the first wild Pokémon are.

Then I found out that there's only 450 Pokémon in total...what? WTF?! Then I watched Poketip's video about hacking absent Pokémon and moves into the game and they work to some degree, just missing they're models and stats. You can even go to the move tutor and have a list of moves the Pokémon can learn! This makes me incredibly mad! I actually got a refund for Shield and said that Sword isn't good enough for both versions.

The fact Rotom is the Pokémon version of smartphones is very fitting because that thing has an app for MFing everything! I don't want to travel with a Rotom all the time! Fuck off! It was worse in USUM when it spoke to you ALL THE DAMN TIME but at least in that game you can lie in the arms of a Machamp, that's dope! Though I'd rather use my own Pokémon but OK.

It's hard to fight this sort of corporate behaviour when you have their sheep in the palm of their hands.

I would list some good things I like but I'm not a fluffer of corporate egos, that'll just encourage them more.

PS: Sorry for the essay, I've been thinking about this for a while now and the thoughts built up.

-Game Freak can't human-

I will stand my ground that Silver is the best rival and best character in all of the games. He had legit progression in terms of how he changes from being a thieving bully kicking you around (because daddy issues, as it turns out--although we only learned this in Gen III) to self-reflecting on his decision as a trainer and how his grudge toward Team Rocket is keeping him from treating his Pokemon correctly. By the time you have rematches with him at Indigo League, he has a Crobat, and he comes to respect you as a trainer.

Although Wally becomes your true rival and escapes his cushioned life to become a trainer, they never tried to give him a character, which is why he's kind forgettable. Now R/S/E shows you that your neighbor is a sore loser who before the seventh gym gives up being a trainer to help their dad in the research field after spending most of the game showing off their "knowledge of Pokemon" under the guise of "being a tutor". It's a real dick move to not get to see the last evolution of their starter, but after pondering on it for over a decade, it's actually kind of unique for Pokemon. It's kind of a harsh reality that some people just can't cut it as a trainer, and although you crushed your neighbor's dreams (unintentionally), they at least have a back-up plan and still keep their team, and imply they might go back out on the road again (but they never do because it still smarts). They at least still stick to the script in the remake and fixed it by giving you a chance to see the final evolution, but they still showed up a few more times even though they were supposed to be stewing over it back in Littleroot. So either they get over it quickly in the remake, or they were just looking for an excuse to return to being their dad's assistant.

So I think the problem with Game Freak isn't that they're trying too hard to make human characters (N is fantastic, after all), I think they're missing the nuances of characters. Although they're now having cutscenes up the wazoo to show off that they "can do" 3D animation now, it's like what @rotollo said in that they can't seem to break the "tell, don't show" story-telling that was present in the original games. These new characters won't shut up, and they're not doing anything special or different outside of "LET'S BE FRIENDS, 'KAY???" and following you around everywhere you go. Even Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu made the rival docile, even though yes, Blue is in the game, but it doesn't mean you still couldn't have a jerkass rival whom you straighten out. (It's implied your rival in FRLG after losing his champion title goes off on his own to self-reflect, so he changes his attitude a bit post-game.)

Maybe we just need to bring back jerkass rivals, or turn your happy-go-lucky rival into your worst nightmare over time because they were always petty little shits who used to get their way.

So everyone keeps touting this shit as a big deal, but I gotta break down the math for the less informed.

UK Let's Go first week 116k + 53%= 177k
Sword & Shield first week sales in UK 177k
Pokemon Sun & Moon first week 368k.

Another article says that it's 39% less than Sun and Moon
368 - 39%= 224.5k

That doesn't look like a victory at all to me. They way they put out this figures is kind of bizarre though so I won't know until I see the actual copies sold. Interestingly on the UK eShop chart Sword is 19 and Shield is 23.

To take a break from the Dexit spergery for just a moment, there's apparently a super specific oddity with the Sinistea line. Turns out, there's a rare form. Most are "forgeries" but there's a 1% chance, in a single area of the game, to encounter the "authentic" form. And the only distinctions is that it evolves from a different item, and sports a special stamp on its underside.

I bring this up because you know there's gonna be some crazy bastard who's going to waste months of their life hunting a wild shiny of this form, and it's going to be fucking hilarious.

My only question is, is this a separate model from forgeries or did they just apply textures to the bottom of it?

Considering how everything else has like 2-3 extra models (because say it with me now, GF can't fucking program), I'm sure it's the same here. The screenshot was taken from the dex as it considers it separate from the main form too if that also answers your question.

Also fun fact, you can't know if you caught an authentic form just by looking at it. You have to either Dynamax it (where it gets big enough that you can see the underside) or try to use the unique evolve item to find out.

Got a shitload of giftcards from work today so I went and got Sword and a few other games to have around and kill some downtime over the Thanksgiving 4 day weekend. Tried staring the game and it's been like 2 hours and I'm still in that weird "Do this and this and this and this" hand holding part of the game, only to go online and find out that's actually most of the game.

This shit is for kids? If I was an 8 year old and tried playing this shit it would frustrate me to no end. Kids have way less patience for this shit, I remember being annoyed by the old man in RBY insisting he show you how to catch a Caterpie (and then fucking up), and now this new shit pretty much just instructs you what to do and when to do it.

Yeah modern kids hate that shit as well, they care about every other aspect of the franchise but from my experience from the ones I have interacted with, they really don't find the mainline games intresting at all

I like how Game Freak is so far gone that they're treating Pokémon less like animals/pets and more like collectibles. "Gotta catch 'em all!" hints at that gimmick, but the universe goes out of its way to bash it in your head that Pokémon are living, even sentient creatures in their world, and Pokémon collectors are frowned down upon. Suddenly making a cup Pokémon have "forgeries" and those that are "authentic" and treating it as no big deal except to make collectors flip their lids is honestly kind of messed up. If it's meant to be a "difference in class" take on Pokémon species, it's gotten lost and driven off a cliff in translation.

Don’t worry just blame it on phones or something so game freak can make less game

And the bones are there for fun, there's no reason for it to be so fucking loaded down with extraneous bullshit. "Here's a land of monsters, get a bunch and be really strong! Bye!" should be it.

The cries for the Galarian evos just don't sound right to me for some reason. They just feel lazy most of the cries sound lazy too, no memorable cries like Victini (pre gen 6) or Charjabug. Just forgettable noises.
