I wonder how many LGBT goons are gonna try and make a stink over this. Otherwise pretty okay, Gigantamax Pikachu's move looks like the only competitively viable G-move though because the effects of the other moves either have RNG involved for the good status (Butterfree), are extremely dependent on a pokemon's gender (Eevee), or are glorified versions of shitty pre-existing moves (Charizard and Fire-Spin.)

What I find most interesting about this though that it confirms one Pokemon from a popular (unconfirmed) leak image thats been circulating 4chan's /vp/ board for a month or so now with Dynamax Butterfree representing Mothra in the bottom left-hand corner. This chart is still very much unconfirmed through, and there being a moth/butterfly Pokemon in S/S could just be coincidence. Still something to keep in mind for future potential reveals though.

I noticed the long cat picture for Meowth's new form and a dragon for Charizard possibly. Whoever leaked the details knew and no doubt didn't give a fuck about the games.

We knew that Dynamax Meowth and obese Pikachu were gonna be in from the Affleck leak, which leaked fuckloads of information weeks to months before they were revealed. The fact the chart got Eevee and Dynamax Butterfree correct though, despite not appearing on the Affleck leak, is cause for notice. You should probably disregard the knight duck (chart was released after Sirfetch'd was announced}, loch ness monster (affleck post mentioned Gigantomax Lapras) , the squirrels (Skwovet and Grredunt were named in the Affleck post even if they haven't been shown yet), the half-Gengar half-Clefable (Morpecko pikachu rip-off in all likelihood, was already released in a trailer) and the teapot elephant, whose outline we could vaguely see in a trailer when Chairman Rose sent it out.

Gigantimax Charizard honestly looks really cool. Can't add much to that.

Gigantimax Butterfree looks alright. At first I wasn't too keen on the design but it started to grow on me a little bit.

Gigantimax Pikachu, Eevee, and Meowth are abysmal. Gigantimax Pikachu and Eevee are somehow so devoid of creativity that they make Mega Latios and Mega Latias look original, and Gigantimax Meowth isn't much better and also looks super akward.

Anyways I really wish they would have showed us some forms from Pokemon outside of Gen 1. A lot of people are sick of Genwunner pandering
 
Kanto Kanto Kanto, fucking Christ. There's not a drop of creativity with any of these, they all just scream social media bait like "OMG CHONK PIKACHU OMG FLOOF EEVEE UWU." Seriously look on Twitter and that's exactly the type of reactions you'll see.

To really put things into perspective, Cramorant and Polteageist were the last new, non-Kanto related mons we got, and they were over a month ago. On top of this, the Gigantomax page now has nearly double the number of forms just for Kanto mons compared to Galar ones. What an utter fucking joke.

I was going to mention that last part, tbh it seems more like the only reason they ditched megas was so they could throw old, over used, pre evolutions into the mix. I guess it's fine to want to add them for new features but imo pre evolutions shouldn't be getting gigantimax's because I'm going to evolve them, not keep them un evolved for a stupid move, so they should focus on the final evo. I doubt very much their evolutions will get different gigantimax forms and after not allowing let's go pikachu/eevee to evolve I wonder if those ones will be evo locked.

I guess that's worst case but i think it's just a bad route to go down, what are you going to do with all these forms going forward? Get rid of them like you did megas? I'll do the honors of not getting attached to them then.

It was already confirmed on the official Pokemon Website that the Pikachu, Eevee, and Meowth that are capable of G-maxing cannot evolve.

Some believe that the G-max capable Pikachu/Eevee will have the same stat spread of the Partner ones from Let's Go to make up for it, and if they do that it will be the same for this limited time Meowth. Higher stats than normal and the ability to G-max in return for not being able to evolve.

I'd say the design for charizard is pretty solid. The main reason that seemingly most people groan at the sight of the new form is because game freak gives this pokemon (and the Kanto region in general, but I digress) too much love while the other starters are just chopped liver. I can almost guarantee you that people wouldn't nearly as annoyed by this if the other starters were given some of this love with a new form.

Don't forget "LONG BOI MEOWTH". As for the forms themselves, aside from the obvious memes that will swirl around this, I can see some people finding these designs to be charming for how silly they look. Not to mention how the G-Max form for Pikachu is a bit of a nod to what the yellow mouse use to look like in the first generation.

Charizard would be the one I like the most, if it wasn't fucking Charizard. This is the THIRD goddamn super duper special form that overrated thing gets and that's just the tip of the iceberg. It's a symptom of an overall issue with Game Freak where they feel the compelling need to shove nostalgia into every fucking corner of their games anymore out of fear that it won't sell otherwise. Because, you know, one of the most popular gaming IPs of all time needs more help selling shit.

At least with Alola there was an equal amount of brand new and regional Pokemon being shown off, and even the Kanto forms weren't only the top 5 most popular mons ad infinitum (Raichu got its first bone throw in forever). But here it's been all Kanto all the time. Only a couple trailers or so didn't have any Kanto content shoehorned in.

I saw a few, but in all honesty there wasn't as many as I expected, and even amongst the ones I saw a good amount of them were obviously trolling.
 
I like the reference to old-school chubby Pikachu with the giant form. And they’re just a couple of form exclusive for having other Pokémon game data on your Switch, nothing to get pissed over.
And yeah, that Charizard design is pretty solid.
