One of my biggest problems with Sinnoh that isn't really talked about is that the learnset for some Pokemon is fucking ridiculous. Leafeon should not being learning Leaf Blade all the way at level 71.
My problem with Sinnoh was that a chunk of the pokemon were just either evolutions or pre evolutions of already existing pokemon. So I feel like they copped out a lot with the pokedex that round and didn't bother to put more effort into making new pokemon designs. I will say though that Sinnoh contains my fave eeveelution which is Leafeon
Galar better fucking have more eeveelutions. I always wanted Eevee to have an evolution for every type and the franchise likes to capitalize on Eevee's popularity but I feel like they neglect what they should really be focusing on with Eevee and that's giving it more evolutions.

If going from trends, Eevee should definitely see a new evolution in Galar, but GF may cop out with either returning the partner Eevee gimmick (could move tutor the 8 evolution moves without evolving), or introduce a 'NEW' item that brings back the Z-Crystal move that wasn't just double attack strength per match.

New video.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=uaF9iJ9bzUMGalarian Weezing's ability is super broken. It negates all other abilities on the field. Slaking use is probably gonna skyrocket.
I'm sure it'll let that ability and a few others be the exception to the weezing's.

The problem with that is that I feel like gamefreak thinks eevee's set in terms of evolution. I mean the last generation that introduced a new eeveelution was when they introduced a new (probably the last) typing to the pokemon franchise. In terms of eeveelutions, I feel like eevee's set and they probably aren't going to introduce a new one for a good long while, if at all.

I'm gonna call that the Archen and Slakoth lines won't be in the region. It seems all too convenient for GF to just leave them out the same time such an ability is introduced. In fact watch that become a running theme. "Man this ability/move/Pokemon is so cool! Too bad X and X don't exist to take full advantage of it..." At least Golisopod will be there to benefit from it but still, being forced to switch isn't as bad as having your own base stats deliberately fucked with. And before you even ask, Regigigas most certainly won't be around yet as it will appear in whatever next set of games where they just dump all the legendaries back in like they always do.

As for the ability itself? If those above mentioned mons aren't around I don't think it'll get much use in practice, since you have to also take your own teammates into account plus Levitate for a defensive Poison type will be just too good to pass up most of the time. Not to mention the effect drops when Weezing isn't present so it's not like a weather setter where it just needs to pop in once or twice to do the job.

Why do the Pokémon appear so close to each other? I get that they need room for Dynamax, but it looks off compared to the other battlefields we've seen.

How is that gonna work for form changing abilities though? (Wishiwashi, Cherrim, Zygarde Etc.) If it nukes ALL ABILITIES then I can see Weezing becoming a new OU Pokemon

While the ability is nice, we don't know the full stats of Galarian Weezing.

Don't get me wrong, if Weezing can become OP, that's something I'm down for, but even a killer ability is useless if you can't have it out on the field long enough.

I'm just wondering if the ability is like something that lasts as long as weezing is out, or has a residual effect to it.

Also, anyone else notice that the thread's taken a dramatic turn?

Like, we've been complaining about the games, to complaining about the complainers and now are just letting the inner pokemon nerds in us discuss this more openly.

I miss that.

Most of the negative shit people have said hasn't really gone away or been addressed, it's just that regurgitating it is in poor taste so I imagine the take has been had up until something outstandingly new comes up to complain about. Me personally? I've felt exhausted by all the controversy, mostly because I'm surrounded by people who don't put up good arguments as to why the lackluster content is ok so I've dipped out on trying for the most part.

I could post here, but everyone else is having too much fun discussing the prospect of a Sinnoh remake which is completely not something for me to derail. (Hate Sinnoh and I'm not that much of a cunt to tear into people for it randomly.) I *could* post a video displaying the lessened attack animation quality in regards to fighting Dynamax Pokemon, but it's just more of the same and I'm not down for running in circles so instead I lurk.

Also Weezing's new ability is pretty good. Can't wait for Game Freak to power-creep the fuck out of it when the new round of """"""Exclusive Legendaries"""""" eventually comes out.

iirc only lasts while Weezing is actively on the field, so it's not like weather summoners.

As for the whole discussion thing, I've mostly given up harping about the animations and whatever, but the whole Dexit thing still rubs me wrong way too much to flat out ignore both because it's such an earth-shatteringly awful turn of events and it affects me on a personal level (I have a complete living dex and countless shinies I've amassed over the years).

I'm trying to not spout about it as much openly though. Everyone's made their choice as to what "side" they're on regarding this whole shitshow by now so I'm just wasting my breath. Not much left to do but wait till the games come out (or more likely, get leaked and datamined about a week before then) and see just how much damage Game Freak has done on a programming and dex roster reduction level.

Lemme guess... Distant Kingdom?

That actually sounds fun to talk about actually.

Personally, i saw the video, and I don't find the attacking moves from the smaller pokemon to be all that lackluster, especially when considering that from what we know from the raid battles - like considering how far the Dynamaxed pokemon is, you'd have to either speed up moves like Flame Charge or Rough play so the pokemon using it would have to go through that distance really quickly and come back again.

Then there's animating. At this point in time, Pokemon has a move pool that well over 700 moves, you'd not only have to do what I said above for the physical moves that have the pokemon cross the field, but you'd also have to expand the animation as well for all of them. And you wouldn't be able to just take the original animation and bloat it up, because just like with the huge pokemon, it'd look crappy and a huge mess.

Then there's the other factor of other players and time constraints.

One of the BIGGEST complaints that RPGs, even the good ones like Persona 5 and Octopath Traveler have gotten (Check people like RelaxAlax and Dunkey for their 'analysis' of that) is the time it takes to get through battles. And this can apply to pokemon too, heck, there's a reason why the games give you the option of turning off the graphics for the attacks. Now imagine having up to three other people in the battle system, not only thinking about what moves they wanna make, but also sitting through every single attack animation.

it's a means of making the battles fast paced, and it's something that game designers, especially those of RPGs, need to consider. For an extreme example, look at the Summons in FF7 and FF8, there were PLENTY of people who complained about the wait times for summons that you couldn't skip - Notable exception being Knights of the Round, the best summon in FF history arguably.

And even then, when you're fighting a Dynamaxed pokemon, are you really going to battle them for the graphics? No, you're fighting them in order to get a strong pokemon (at least from what we're told and going off of what Pokemon Go's mechanic does).

Thing is, Distant Kingdom is only looking at the frosting of the battles, and not actually taking into consideration other factors - Other players, time, and scaling/distance issues. I like frosting, but if the cake underneath it is burnt to a crisp, who the da fuck wants to eat that shit?

To me, DK is a graphics whore. Heck, the most popular video on his channel the Hop taking Hau's animation? Yeah, that's not a unique animation to Hau - Both Lusamine and a few kid NPCs do the animation too, which no one complained about back then:

The little girl right there next to Hau is doing it.

To me, it's more like complaining about the Walk cycle of a character being reused. It's something that wouldn't normally bug you, but if you got piss and vinegar in your veins, you're willing to blow it out of proportion.

But enough about that long tirade, I actually wanted to talk about Sinnoh as well, since there's an item in a fan game that I've already talked to death about. Pokemon Rejuvenation.

Again, story's batshit insane, but it's a good game mechanically, and what I'm about to talk about it actually makes it cooler. You see, in the later part of the game, you start to collect these items called Crests. These are held items that each have a name of a certain pokemon attached to them, and when you equip these items, said pokemon gets an additional power.

And how effective is it?

The items can make Ledian... LEDIAN... actually playable by essentially giving it the ability to punch with all four of it's arms with punching moves. Basically, use a punching move, it'll hit the target four times.

And there are more notable crests that actually boost lower tier pokemon:

-Leafeon: Haves damage from fire and flying attacks

-Glaceon: Halves damage taken from rock and steel attacks
-Bastiodon: Deals 50% damage taken as recoil and recovers that amount (this might actually be pretty good)

-Rampardos: Works like focus sash/sturdy

-Typhlosion: Atk scales with SpAtk, and contact moves do additional fire damage

-Feraligatr: Grants the ability strong jaw and the first move upon switch in gets priority

-Meganium: Meganium and allies take reduced damage and recover every turn

-Torterra: Swap resistances and weaknesses (so that's why my ice beam did nothing)

-Empoleon: Stat changes are doubled

-Infernape: Swap attacks and defenses

Mainly focused on the Gen 4 pokemon crests for this one, because... Well, Sinnoh.

And think it's a pretty cool concept, since not only does it give you a chance to work with lesser pokemon and make them viable, it also makes other pokemon have a secondary use other than one simple predestined role for it.

Oh, and Silvally gets a Crest too. You can actually combine it with the Memories, and not only does it change Silvally's appearance in the game, but it also does what the plates do for Arceus - Gives the moves of the same type a boost.

I mean it's just going to get OG Weezing's stats with a few tweaks in favor of one stat (probably in favor of either special attack or defense). Like Alolan Dugtrio, for example, has practically the same stats as the original but has like 10 points from speed added to defense. Yeah, it didn't really change much and kinda made it a worst version of the original, but it was practically the same mon stat-wise.

Edit: Changed "itself" to "the original".

That's one of my few gripes with the regional forms. They change up the typing, abilities and movepools, but the stat swap changes are like, 10 points or less (and for some no differences at all). When we first saw A-Marowak for example I thought its stats were going to be completely swapped around to be a speedy Special Attacker but nope, its stats didn't even change.

Fuck your whiny "Feebas is fucking hard to find in Mt. Coronet" bullshit, I never knew anyone who actually caught themselves a wild Munchlax in D/P/Pt, ever. The only way you could find a Munchlax was by finding the four "Munchlax trees" (changes each time you restart your game) in which you had to lather on honey trees every day just to get a 1% encounter rate baby Pokemon. But the game doesn't tell you the Munchlax trees, you had to find it yourself, and if you didn't have access to the Internet to know what to do to calculate your trees (thanks, Dragonfree), sucks to be you. That's fucking bullshit.

I've actually hatched a shiny hidden ability female Combee before. On the second attempt no less. Named her Magnum Opus because there was no topping that kind of achievement.

You know what's odd, there hasn't been anything from Corocoro magazine even though we're well into the info trickle season. Or to be more accurate, anything new that hasn't already been revealed by TPC, since they'd always have something in their issues and scans of the pages would spread across the internet. Has a contract finally ended with them or something so they don't get to reveal brand new stuff first anymore?

Yeah that is kinda weird CoroCoro didn't even show like a new form or shadow of a new Pokemon hinting at (Pokemon X) again.

Maybe they learned from the whole "Accidentally leak the gen 7 starters Evo and new form Zygarde"
