Anything that doesn't look like localized inbred trash, at this point, would be fine with me.I just want some cute ass pokeymen and that's it.
3,2,1I finally find a copy of SoulSilver while trawling the arcade/retro shop during a lunch break, think I’m gonna relive one of the best things from my childhood, and then when I get home I cannot find my 3DS charger anywhere. Life despises me. You’d think it’d be in the drawer with the SNES Classic and the handheld but no.
Also, what is everyone’s favorite gen? Mine is 2 if that wasn’t obvious.
You know, they're being super quiet about this game. Like, I know it's still a bit early-ish but they haven't put ANY new pokemon at the end of episodes, there has been no new trailer, no CoroCoro word about anything other than a fan named move to really keep any sort of hype. It's supposed to release in winter (I thought it was originally fall? Oh well) but like, it's already May and not a single thing.

Mine is 5 but only bw. Other games, bw2 included, I can't bring myself to play again for some reason or another. But I'm willing to go back to bw time and again. Weird now that I think about it considering none of my favorite design were from gen 5 I think.I finally find a copy of SoulSilver while trawling the arcade/retro shop during a lunch break, think I’m gonna relive one of the best things from my childhood, and then when I get home I cannot find my 3DS charger anywhere. I'm happier they're releasing no information. Part of the adventure pokemon offers is experiencing new and bizzare creatures in a world you know little about. It's an adventure for a reason. Them leaking everything out ruins that "aura" around it. It's not much an adventure when you know what to expect. That may have been why Gen 6 and Gen 7 were bland in a way. We knew what we were getting and knew most of the pokemon that were in the game by the release. You know, they're being super quiet about this game. I keep checking because I feel like any day something has to drop, my memory is utter shit but I seem to remember that every month, for the last few gens, new shit got dropped frequently. At least like every month to every other month we at least got some sneak peeks at new pokemon forms.
They really need to take chances with other things like they did with Colosseum, xd, rangers, and mystery dungeon.
3,2,1
in that order
I think sword and shield will be the first game thats actually not liked by fans. If you look how gamefreak wants to design their games with easier and easier difficulty, this one will the most handholdy yet.
Im just kind of shocked by the contrast in nintendo on one hand you have LOZBW which just let you wander almost without pointers and then you have the handholdy experince of modern pokemon.
I still want my Kanto sequel.
Gen 2 is the Kanto sequel. It takes place 3 years later, returns many old characters and locations, Team Rocket is still the evil team, and the game even has a cameo of the Gen 1 playable character in the form of a endgame boss. The games were even originally going to be called Pocket Monsters 2: Gold and Silver.
Also gyms have been confirmed to come back ever since the official site for Sword/Shield came out the day the games were revealed.
Fire Red and Leaf Green exist.Nah, Gen 2 is a new region, it just has the best post game. Them sharing an Elite Four gives it credence, but Kanto is really underdeveloped to consider it a sequel (even if we get some progression like Cinnibar Island)
I really think Ruby/Sapphire was the last game that needed a remake. Sinnoh on there isn't a lot of mechanical changes in the game. I'd much rather see those regions get sequels than remakes. They put a lot of work into them, it's not like they are ports, Pokemon plots and characters are largely trash anyways, it can't be that much more work to make a new story and have the region develop a bit.

I really don't think we need another Kanto game, the region itself is so bland geographically compared to those in later gens, and they've been jerking off Gen 1 to hell and back these last two gens so I wouldn't mind some spotlight on things not related to it. We already have 7 games that take place primarily in the region(8 in Japan), and 5 others where it appears. Two of those games came out last year. We DO NOT need to Kanto yet again.
And Gen II is a direct sequel whether you like it or not, there are no other gens so heavily tied to prior ones like it(Like how the entirely of the Team Rocket Subplot is tied heavily to the events of the Gen 1 games). Half the game is in Kanto, and any complaints about about it being underdeveloped can be attributed to the space limitations of the Gameboy Color, and HGSS fixed most of the issues people had with Gen II Kanto.
