To be fair, the switch era still has less kanto bootlicking than the 3DS did (yes the platform with let's go) probably one of the very few things the switch games does well.
That's debatable
  1. 10 Kanto pokemon wound up getting Gigantamax forms in Sw/Sh.
    • 4 of which already got special treatment in other games (Charizard and Gengar had Megas, Pikachu and Eevee had their own special Z-Crystals)
  2. Meowth, ontop of being one of the 10 pokemon that can Gigantamax, also gets -yet another- regional form.
    • That form has it's very own unique evolution that's separate from Persian. So now we have THREE different meowths, and if we're caring about what the competitive community thinks (personally I don't), NONE of their evolutions are any good.
  3. Farfetch'd and Mr. Mime have new regional form and an evolution that is only tied to those forms
  4. The Tentacool line and Digglet Line get "re-done" because reasons
  5. Primeape has a new evolution
  6. Paradox Pokemon are now a thing, and 2 of them are Kanto-related
  7. Pikachu.... do I really need to say more, especially since they revealed ANOTHER new form with Wi/Wa?
Say what you want about the 3DS games (and I have), but they weren't THIS obvious with the past-gen pandering. Of all of X/Y's faults, at least you can say it's pokedex is clean outside of Sylveon, which really only exists to introduce a new type (at the time). Then you look at S/V's dex and I'm seeing the 3 dogs, AGAIN. I'm seeing the Musketeers, AGAIN. I'm seeing Donphan, AGAIN, and that one is worse because it's TWO different forms instead of one. Salamance and Tyranitar have new forms even though they had Megas in the past. It's right there in your face and it's all so tiresome.

Iirc, someone posted a stat a few pages earlier about how most pokemon fans are older, which means it's mainly returning fans who still buy pokemon.
'Twas me lol. It isn't just Pokemon either, Nintendo's playerbase is aging. It's certainly not kids who are buying the newest Nintendo games, they're too busy playing mascot horror trash or battle royales or whatever it is they play nowadays.

Shame they gave Nobunaga the worst pokemon, Zekrom is so lame man.
How dare you.

Anyways, Megas are cool as fuck. Temporarily evolving your Pokemon past its limits is awesome, actually, and I prefer the tailor-made transformations over the one-size-fits-all gimmicks. The only criticism I agree with is that giving popular Pokemon overpowered Megas was fucking gay (and that most of the new ones in ZA look like ass, I asked for their return and the monkey's paw curled).

I'm honestly surprised an Australia region hasn't been made by now. It's definitely a location that'd make an interesting setting.
Considering how it's probably easier to list thing in Australia that aren't poisonous in some way, I just don't think they want to make that many new Poison types.

That and watch that the obligatory Kangaroo Pokémon would just be a regional form of Kangaskhan...

Wugtrio would be just another Water type, while Toedscruel may carry a niche. I am not into the competitive Pokémon scene.
Wugtrio is pretty much just worse Floatzel which is worse Barraskewda- fast mono water physical glass cannon. Giving a mon like that an ability that slows your enemy when you get hit by them is practically the opposite of what it would want- you can't take hits and you probably outspeed before the drop.
Toeds is cool and much more unique than wug but they gave it an annoying hindering ability that makes all of its status moves go last despite it being pretty fast, which really holds it back. The ability gives those status moves Mold Breaker, but most of the time you'd rather just have the speed.

From what we could see from the leaks, GF cares a lot about a place's history, but also it's biodiversity. Australia is probably the one country on earth with the strangest biodiversity on the planet.

An Australian region should honestly introduce more poison types than even K*nto did

Also chinking about it, autistic chink nationalism will prevent pokemon from doing non-Japan East Asian countries.

You just know that they would do a "oh the poor huwites took it from the petrol huffers who are magical and intune with the land" type story.

Hell the next gen is apprenetly just yet another "Evil capitalist exploiting wants more power" type shit.

There's only four legendary poison types to date (Eternatus and the Trio from Gen 9's DLCs), so they should take the opportunity to mess around with dual typing. Poison/Fairy, Poison/Dragon, Poison/Ice. That sort of thing.

Question: are the AI models good enough to do sprite work or is there an automated tool to do a sprite image of an already existing image? And if so, why even complain? I fail to see the case, actually romhacks should absolutely steal other games graphics and use in their fan games
Ai isn't able to copy pixel work, because it's too simple of a style.

Poison/Ice is the only type that technically has never been done before. Defensively, Poison would be picking up almost all of the work and make Fighting hit 1x but it would still be weak to the other shit only now it also has Ground and Psychic to worry about, so it would need a really good ability to make up for it. Offensively it adds nothing new to the table except killing fairies.

Galarian Weezing and Fezandipiti are the only two Poison/Fairies and Dragalge is the only non-legendary Dragon with Naganadel and Eternatus being the legendaries. They COULD add more for variety-sake, but knowing GF, they would probably do another Bug/Poison or Grass/Poison even though we already have a fuck-ton of them.

agreed, people forget that the 3DS lined died because the tablet was destroying handheld sales and the relative costs made it so parents would rather buy a tablet and pay 99 cents or less for a game vs an entirely new console and $40 games.

if someone was an ipad kid 15 years ago they're drinking age today. FNAF is literally people's childhood game series. the idea of having a dedicated gaming machine is like having a dedicated music player, its very antiquated. and because of that the idea of being a "Nintendo/Sega/Sony" fan is an old timey idea. its like saying you're a blockbuster or hollywood video kid. No one is beholden to a console anymore and with that the fanbases of the games declines. people became fans of metroid because it was the only FPS on the game cube, people became fans of fire emblem because it was the only RPG on the game cube, people became fans of smash bros because it was the only fighting game on the game cube.

you don't have these barriers of entry forcing people into certain games. If some kid wants to play with some pocket monsters they have plenty of options now

That seems to be one of the arguments against using Canada.

Apparently I was wrong about the Roamer Glitch's current status in the rereleases: the Roar glitch (where, if Raikou or Entei used Roar in battle, they'd disappear from the game) was patched but the abysmal IVs weren't.
The Meowth is just another Fez where every deck will run one.
I'm seeing 2-3 Meowth ex in some of the decklists featured on Limitless' page for Japan's recent (in this case last week) Champions league in Fukuoka.

@Archeops it sounds like Pokémon in general has turned into 'one step forward, two steps back' in terms of how it compares to the games of old. Is there a game that fans are begging for most? Or a real world location we haven't been to yet? I imagine people want full 3D remakes of Gold and Silver?
