Seeing the mixed reactions over Gen 10 gives me a little hope that people who aren't tourists or Nintoddlers like Nintendo Prime and Player Essence are starting to notice Pokemon's problems. There have been worse directs, but for a 30 year-anniversary this was pretty awful. I'm going to Pokemon Go's last Sunday event before the new season starts, and I'm really hoping the Kalos tour is a lot better than last year's Unova tour. I heard the actual Kalos tour from last week was really meh out of the last minute Dragonite fight in Taiwan and Commiefornia. This year's Go events have been really bad for so many reasons.
There are some AI autistics in the community because the Pokemon community has all kinds of douchebags. The backlash won't be as big as TPC using AI art for their cards last year.
Question: are the AI models good enough to do sprite work or is there an automated tool to do a sprite image of an already existing image? And if so, why even complain? I fail to see the case, actually romhacks should absolutely steal other games graphics and use in their fan games
Guarantee you if these roms sell/play well, they are going to shove more Kanto shit into the newer games. Personally I hope the don't. GF/Nintendo have been leaning on the past gens for far too fucking long.
Now i see why they don't let you name the rivals anymore in the modern games, Game Freak are so prude and boring they don't even allow you to have fun with your SINGLE PLAYER GAME.
Fuck this company.
ORAS sucked. It took a decent game then piled modern story telling on top of it. Constant interruptions isn't fun and they wouldn't leave you alone. It also ran like shit. Unless you're an autist and too retarded to play a Digimon game instead Mega evolutions aren't interesting or fun. They're just an easier way to steam roll everything and limit your team options.
Tbh gen 10 is giving me TemTem vibes given that it's a tropical region. I did like TemTem for what it was, but yeah they dropped the ball hard given how much positive attention they had during early access.
Conquest was fucking AWESOME. I didn't know I needed that kind of mashup but boy, it was great. Shame they gave Nobunaga the worst pokemon, Zekrom is so lame man.
Wish we could've gotten a sequel to that, and another pokemon ranger, but alas TPC/GF hate having to think about their games.
Man. Mega evolutions/gigantamax/whatever the next lame gimmick that's exactly the same just under a different name. I hate them. Some of the mega evolutions look cool but I genuinely think it's the least interesting attempt at freshening up the gameplay of pokemon. It was the weakest part of XY, I can't imagine it being improved by calling it something else.
Easily the best of the one-size-fits-all gimmicks at least. I like megas as an analog for one-per-team restricted Pokemon that can buff some fan favorites. D-max and g-max tried to do both and failed, g-max in particular being absolute "what were they even thinking" garbage.
Z-moves were also lame other than Z-Conversion Porygon, which ironically was similar to tera.
Completely invalidating typing and move pools is retarded.
The only gimmick that's worked is D/Gmaxing because it was a cinematic thing for a boss fight. Gyms had a big build up and the music kicks up as Godzilla appears and starts fighting you. Comp fags (gay) and nuzlocke fags (gay) hated it because it changed things up and actually made the game have some real choice. All the other gimmicks have failed terribly and look shit. Most megas are unused and unwanted, it failed. Tera just ruins any sort of type balancing and turns the game into a random gotcha moment. And it looked shit.
Going to a gym to fight godzilla makes the gyms special. Someone using an off type and changing it to their type doesn't. There's no big build up or pay off. It's just "oh a grass type normal pokemon" and then you hit it with a fire move and it dies in 1 hit like all the other grassmons did.
Stellar Tera should've included the no-weakness no-resist defensive aspect Terapagos gets for other mons using it. No defensive weaknesses might sound OP until you get flattened by a wallbreaker's strong STAB, though it's possible some defensive stall mons could become diabolical.
Gen 2 Demake Pokémon Breeze and Pokémon Ripple starring Coolest Starter: coming whenever.
Seriously, all that stuff added to Polished Crystal has me really wan to base all of my demakes on that engine, especially wi the future DX fork, but I still wan that MSU-1 support, which can only apply to bases of Pokémon Gold or Pokémon Silver.
Tera is more versatile, but Megas are probably still my favourite gimmick. Dead last would be rotation battles if you could even count that as a game gimmick on the same level as dynamaxing.

To be fair, the switch era still has less kanto bootlicking than the 3DS did (yes the platform with let's go) probably one of the very few things the switch games does well.
