I’d love to see more mature themes, but at the same time look at digimon, where their solution to appealing to older audiences is adding female humanoid digimon for the fanbase to sexualize. I’d love to see them explore more mature themes and go beyond “kid going on an adventure”, but also refrain from doing what digimon does with appealing to coomers.
Have you SEEN Skull Seadramon?

And the Digimon ode to the Second Amendment?

You can call out the waifu digimon, but thankfully that's not all Digimon has going for it.

The starters look more like the wild Pokemon you’d encounter in the first route of a game.

Also, “Winds and Waves” seems like a really odd choice for titles coonsidering everything before was colors or gems.

And despite the focus on swimming/flying, I guarantee the only Pokemon you’re allowed to surf on/fly with are Ride Pokemon, because no way in hell is Gf gonna take the time to program specific riding animations for all water/flying Pokemon.

Also Legendaries will be flying/water types.

First thing shown is a collection of gen 1 music. 45 songs, being released on a small music player that looks like a gameboy. You need to switch out cartridges for each song lmao
Gen 1 has around 30 tracks in total, at least according to the youtube compilation I quickly searched.
I can count on a single hand how many of those tracks I actually enjoy enough to go back take a listen again, and regardless, I find it insulting when gen 2 had better tracks in general.
Hell, the tcg games had a better soundtrack and were gen 1 stuff.
Utsunomiya pops up to talk about the FireRed/LeafGreen rerelease at 10 minutes.
I genuinely believe gen 1 remakes provides an inferior experience to the original due to the lack of funny and easily to perform bugs and I challenge you all to change my mind over it.
Champions news! Trailer immediately begins. Live action. The music makes me want to die
  • Showcasing Megas in the game and emphasizing mobile/Switch crossplay
    • tranny spotted on a bus
    • Z-A Megas included, ofc. Trailer emphasizes them most
I know nothing about this and I already hate it with every single atom of my being.
Gen 10 reveal. Graphics look like shit as always
My nigga, its almost as if they don't need to try.
Ditto is referred to as "they" throughout the entire presentation
Don't care about pronouns, ditto was genderless ever since gen 2.
Plays a bunch of music from the mainline series. Not just RBY thank god. Some RSE and DPPt tracks in there too (even anime tracks!)
Skipping gen2?
Could be nice if they uncluded some TCG tracks or Pokemon Puzzle remixes tho, too bad that ain't gonna happen lmao.
but can't wait to play it.
Man, how long have you been suffering coprophagia?

Fuck you, they're not gooner games. Those aren't half naked angel/devil women, they're Digimon, and it's sick to sexualize a digital animal, just because it looks and talks like a hot babe.

Jokes aside, idk if you played it, but Time Stranger was amazing, and it had a lot more depth than anything GameFreak has released in the past few years.

I am only a few hours in on Time Stranger, and already it is better than anything GF has shat out in decades.

As for the Switch 2, this year it has no flagship title. Console is dead; it's not even been a year.

I dont know if its just because they're new so I hate them, but the starters look like they belong in Palworld or something.

  • Boring shit like Masters, Sleep, Unite updates
  • Massive Pokapia showcase
  • Maybe Mystery Dungeon 2 remake announcement
  • Champions release date
  • Pokemon Colosseum and XD releasing on NSO
  • GO 10th anniversary celebration announcement
  • Gen5 Remake (but ONLY if it's being outsourced)
  • Gen10 reveal, probably just logos but maybe a short trailer since it's probably now truly open-world
Rate my predictions:

Which would be the least likely?
- New Mystery Dungeon
- Bringing back the national dex
New Mystery Dungeon is more likely to happen than the national dex returning

For me, a lot of the things I enjoyed about the Pokemon franchise went away in the transition to 3D. The Pokemon games where consistently some of the best games on their consoles before Gen 6. When they tried to make 3D models for everything, the game lost its visual identity for me.

Back when handheld gaming hardware was more primitive, Game Freak were the kings of cramming as much depth as possible into tiny ROM sizes. Seriously, think back to Gen 1. As broken as those games were, they undoubtedly had the most depth of any other games in the original Game Boy's library. They managed to fit an entire adventure in 500 KILObytes. Those games were legitimate technological achievements.

I also found the sprite artwork on the older games to be a lot more compelling. By the time Gen 3 rolled around, it really felt like Game Freak knew what they were doing when representing their characters on a small screen. The simplicity of the medium allowed them to get the point across much more effectively. Now, Pokemon games look like a shitty Pixar rip-off. Half of the 'mons look like bizarrely smooth jelly beans with arms. Its just not practical to make over 1000 compelling 3d character models, complete with battle animations. How the hell are the creatives at the top supposed to audit that much content?

I feel like a lot of the skills and artistry that went into making premium games for 32-bit hardware are becoming lost. Powerleveling a bit, but I program for absolutely dogshit hardware comparable to the GBA a lot in my day job. As an adult, its given me a deep respect for Game Freak accomplished 20-30 years ago.

Pokémon Sleep trailer. Mew is coming to the game starting tonight, teasers for Lati@s
Seriously, the PokéDex entries talking about how Pokémon sleep is actually so fucking adorable and fascinating, I'm just mad I don't have the patience and such for Sleep to see that for myself.

Mew better have little twitches while sleeping like real cats or I riot.

Anyhoo what's Gen 10's region anyway, and what's it based off of? Are we going to get more IGN reviews complaining about water? Or any Wind Waker fans crying?

EDIT: Oh shit, Veronica Taylor was on Today!
