One of the key reasons why people didn't play with a link cable back in the day is because of the power imbalances, unless your team was all Lvl 100 with a decent balance and every single fucking stat meticulouslly farmed then there's genuinely no point in playing someone. They'll just faceroll you with their starter before you even get a move in.

Pokemon is 99.999% a single player game. The link cable was more a technical "Can we do this?" than anything else and bar trades it was worthless.

The worst thing? The fucking developers developed their fucking META around multiplayer, so all the fun overpowered moves from the first few gens got nerfed hard. Pokemon is literally babby's first RPG, which isn't a bad thing because it's a genuinely fun game with a great soundtrack and a vivid artstyle that sticks with you, yet if you ask the fanbase they act like it's Hearts of Iron crossed with Dwarf Fortress in terms of accessibility.

Is this game compatible with Pokemon Bank? If not, I plant my flag firmly down on the “Pokemon Company are greedy bastards for not releasing this on NSO instead” side. Even then, $20 is asking a lot for no improvements or new features.
we'll find out on the 27th, the description had home listed as compatible but not available at launch, but that was removed which could be because they didn't want people to think they've been mislead if they buy it and there's no home yet.

I used to trade and battle in Gen 1 and 2 and had lots of fun doing it. Gen 3 brought the secret bases which added to the fun. Link cables were definitely used a lot for Pokemon back then and most people didn’t compfag about it because there was no compfag scene yet.

Either this is a poor troll attempt, or you're just being retarded.

Once the word got around that MISSINGNO was a thing, everyone was using the fuck out of that to get rare candies/vitamins on the fly, so there was no "power imbalance" in regards to battles.

Hell, we even had link battles that USED MISSINGNO, even in yellow, just to see what would happen.

Believe it or not, not all 8 year olds have the patience to min/max their RPG characters. They just want to fight with their friends using little monsters.

I just made an additional $230 off of the ~$800 I made on Saturday and I have the potential to make more if i dig through more bulk, dismantle some rotated-out/soon-to-be-rotated decks for older cards, and I ignore half of Go Fest this weekend. I've also found a way to deal with all the crappy bulk cards that I have.

Oh, and Niantic recently announced changes to the way events will be handled going forward come next season.
  • Paid event tickets that stick around after an event is done are being replaced with paid event GO passes that expire when an event is over.
  • Weekend events are moving to Saturdays.
  • if a Shiny Pokémon’s basic form is released in any way then ALL of its evolutions will also be available. For example, right you could find a Shiny Sprigatito in the wild after it had its Community but if you found a wild Floragato or Meowscarada they’d be locked out of being Shiny. Come next season both of those Pokémon’s Shiny forms can be found in the wild.
  • Shiny Pokémon will also have higher chance of being found via raids, Eggs, Go Rocket Leader battles, and Giovanni battles.
  • The new season will introduce Daily Discoveries experiences: Sundays will double the duration of Lures and Incense, Mondays will double the amount of points obtained from Pass Tasks and Max Mondays will still be a thing, Showcase Tuesdays will still be a thing, Raid Bosses for 5-Star raids and Max Raids will rotate on Wednesday and Raid Hour Wednesdays will still be a thing, Thursdays will boost the amount of Stardust by from GO Battles wins by 4 and the amount of battle sets you can complete will increase from 5 to 10, and Fridays will boost several Friend-related benefits (two special trades instead of one, and increased chance of getting a Lucky Trade, lower the Stardust cost of trades by up to 10%, and Trainers that are at level 31+ will get a guaranteed 2 XL Candy from trades).
I’m not liking some of these changes (especially the ticket change) but the Shiny change is something I. was hoping for.
Yeah, there's that product, which I like personally, save for the fact it probably won't be available due to scalping like the pokemon day box. I was talking more about the set scheduled for summer, which has people upset because they're afraid of there being reprints of highly valuable cards like the shining, star and crystal pokemon. It's mostly investorfags seething, but the community is full of dumb people.
If that's the case then it should be as simple as just paying attention to when online stores restock it, I managed to get two Pokémon Day boxes (for ripping purposes) from Target when they dropped.

that's something that requires a level of unemployment or botting that exceeds reasonable. I got lucky with the pokemon day boxes and bought one, but that was a product with a cosmo foil and stamped version of a common card from TEF. if you look at products like the mega gengar deck with the promo haunter, people are still scalping and buying those out, same with the marnie battle deck and those are mostly just a product for players. I'm sure the starters will be ass in terms of playability like the morpeko and pikachu, but most of the biggest chase cards are actually bad playwise. I miss when these kinds of products would sit on shelves, hell, I remember those kingdra and greninja SFA bundle boxes would just sit on shelves until people decided they finally liked SFA.

I'm expecting there to be a rise in even more retarded people submitting just about anything and everything to PSA to be graded. it's honestly deserved at this point. I'm hoping they print cards like poke pad heavily enough to make them accessible, because there's people selling playsets on ebay for $32, which is fucking retarded. There were people doing that with the basic uncommon hilda, dawn and lillie's determination and it's fucking dumb.

They won't change shit. They probably downloaded the rom they're using from the internet like they did before.
Imagine if they accidentally grabbed that meme ROM that inserts "By the way, if you like this game, buy it or die" into the dialogue when you get on the SS Anne

To my embarrassment, I ended up going to Aesthetic Red and Polished Crystal (dewoked, of course).
No; I did not purchase FireRed or LeafGreen. My Switch is 'jailbroken', anyways.

Aesthetic Red surely looks pretty, though the more detailed player sprites give that awkward RPG Maker feeling.
There is also the obvious music from other games. The wild battle music is literally an inferior version of 'Strike!' from Fir Emblem: the Blazing Sword.
I am planning on playing more, though, especially since there is a lot of quality of li features.

I played the latest build of Polished Crystal, however, and I jizzed in my pants.
I build the hgss version from frequent GitHub pulls, though I adapt any necessary dewokings if the dewoked files have been modified. I also restored time-based fishing spawns, ince that is too fun a feature.
I am very impressed by the large amount of options and modifications this ROM hack has. You can even change the font and see the items you ge! The HGSS build also really makes the colours pop.
Apparently, someone is managing to give GBA-quality colours to the trainers in a different build, too?

Realizing that my last 2 sinnoh playthroughs were BDSP and DP back in 2024, I decided to replay platinum alongside replaying SwSh.

Whenever I replay a pokemon game I try to use a least 1 or 2 pokemon I've never used before, to give variety. In Platinum's case, I made a team entirely made of pokemon I've never used:

Probably the first time this set of pokemon has been used together.

Out of all things they could change this probably is one of the few they would acctually do because they suck ass.
Can have Trannies everywhere at events with children around but can't have this in games.
Eh, I don't think they'll change that. It's not even that risque compared to stuff like that side quest in Majora's Mask where you have to take a picture of a Gerudo woman and give it to that guy.

What and how?
