The criticism is valid because a simple boot menu option from within the emulator that loads the selected rom is an extremely basic feature. But they couldn't even be bothered to do that and just threw all the roms onto the shop individually. There's absolutely zero effort put into this.
They could have also included some bonuses at the boot menu, art book, music player, options to enable distribution content or E card reader functionality.
But they did just the bare minimum and the fans will still eat it up and ask for seconds.

This video had me realise: FRLG, while having quality of life atures, i still harder compared to the latest entries. Of course, they are also in 2D. I feel tha these rereleases would feed late Pokéfans omething missing from the present games, thus ensuring at least some success.

The HM Slave thing is still annoying, but people spoiled by recent games might struggle a bit at least.

So if I’m late with this, I’m sorry.

There was a recent Marilee keychain announced, and people noticed something…let’s say, interesting, about the design.

Do you see it? And if you did, what does that say about you?

That i should've stopped using the internet like a decade ago.

Let’s see, how can I make this response on-topic…

Revealing the FR/LG re-release a whole week before the livestream seems weird to me. Why not on the actual day?

It makes me think they have a much bigger announcement they don't want overshadowed. I'm not talking about the next generation, it would need to be something else that's just as big as FR/LG, but coming much sooner. Maybe another Z-A DLC?

The reason Mega Man and whatnot get collections and Pokemon games don't isn't because Capcom are the good guys and Nintendo are the bad guys, it's because not a single fucking person would buy an emulated MegaMan 2 for $19.99. If they could get away with it, they would but Mega Man doesn't have the popularity of Pokemon in the slightest.
back during the gamecube times they released a collection of all the mainline megaman games for the 15th anniversary. Back in the day a lot of companies that were pretty relevant and popular would frequently release game port collections, something you rarely if ever see these days. I mean you DO see port collections still but not quite the level of sheer quantity and value unless it's rare cases like hyper-specific shit like fighting games or the tmnt konami beat em ups. Thing is at the time the games they released int hose collections back int he day were still "kinda recent". We're lucky now if we get official collections with half the level of content and even luckier if it's not fucked up ports of buggy mobile phone ports like the "sonic origins" one was.

Imo, the reason people weren't as harsh on the 3DS ports of RBY and GSC as they are on the switch's FRLG is that the franchise was in a better state, so they were more willingly to give game freak the benefit of the doubt. At the very least, pokemon bank support was guaranteed on day one, and there was the added goodie of the event celebi. Now? Pokemon home support for FRLG and the GameCube games aren't even guaranteed, and even if it was it would take months. Even BDSP took several months for home support. Not to mention that more likely than not, none of the events like the mew island will be added. FRLG "only" being $20 is still a surprise for me, but all that extra baggage that the 3DS ports simply didn't have is still troubling to say the least.

They are no doubt getting HOME support. It is really strange that it's coming later, instead of on launch though. It is not difficult at all to implement this into HOME. All it is doing is pulling some data from a save-file and re-calculating a new checksum for it. They're not adding support to send Pokémon back and forth into these games, it's just a one way translation from the old stat system into the modern system.

It makes me think the reason HOME support comes months later has some sort of meta purpose? I can't possibly think of what that would be though.

I also think part of it is because at least with the Pokemon Transporter, it made those old GameBoy pokemon more useful once they went to the newer games. Guarenteed 3 max IVs and their hidden ability automatically was a sweet carrot-on-the-stick, especially since it was 250 pokemon across 2 gens that had this benefit. It was basically an easier way to IV-breed in the newer games if you weren't hacking.

I can't really see any benefit from FR/LG getting transported to the newer games. Not only do the Gen3 versions already have things like natures and abilities and IVs, but some of the moves they might have learned would have to be nuked because they don't exist in the newer games anymore. It's as if those pokemon would benefit more from just staying in their original game this time around.

I'm impressed, they made it even worse than i predicted.

If you pay 20$ for a fucking ROM you are a fucking clown. And deserve Gen 10 to be another shit tier game.
Well they didn't even add the new Pokemon to Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. Low effort doesn't even cover this anymore.

I feel it was more like they wanted to get ahead of the leaks. Wasn’t one of them stating that FRLG was coming up ? It’s very hard to pinpoint which one because there are so many wannabe the master leaker.

Maybe another Z-A DLC?
I will throw a prediction: Ultra Dimension

I’m on the fence regarding the FR/LG re-releases, I think they’re fine (especially if they come with HOME compatibility) but the price should really be 10 bucks at max.
First half of my Ass Heroes orders came in. Pulls were kinda way too good because out of like 25 packs I got these but at the same time only got 4 EX mons and a couple reverse holo energies.
I like the Mimickpikachu and the Canari seems to be priced pretty high but mine is super bottom heavy.

Nice, I just sold a fair amount of older cards I have no personal attachment to for around $800 yesterday. And I’m going back to the same vendor later today to sell more.

As far as getting new cards is concerned I’ll more than likely wait until April comes and buy stuff I need for my post-rotation decks. I’ll also be going over my old decks and sell what’s about to be rotated out.
I genuinely hate the state of things with the cards, especially since a vast majority of the people buying out these recent sets refuse to even play. Barring the fact this guy got shorted and the slabs will go on to be used as filler for their in-house gambling service, there’s an absolute non-zero chance, more than 70% chance this guys just another retarded scalpoid or scumbag. One of those cards is a fucking double rare mega gengar ex, which you can get for less than $2.

We haven’t even been given any spoilers yet for the 30th anniversary set and people are already getting angry about what cards may be reprinted with the 30th anniversary stamp. I remember the outrage over the stage 2 kanto starters being reprinted with the stamp. That didn’t stop people from buying out the TCG classic boxes to try to submit those reprints to PSA. Same thing with the umbreon gold star, where these same faggots will call the stamped one a “cope reprint” and then lament that the POP print is so expensive because it’s from a set that you had to actually play in order to pull from during a time where stores weren’t willing to sell that kind of prize support.
We kind of did. There’s a First Partner Collection box releasing on March 20th and it’ll contain a 3-card pack which pulls from a 9-card pool of Illustration Rare-style promos featuring the Gen 1, 4, and 7 starters (with many people assuming that you get one Gen’s set of starters per pack).

money burns holes in my pockets, so i may buy frlg for the switch because i'm easily influenced by companies that cater to my nostalgia. take my money nintendo i have no self-respect.

caught my first shiny alpha pokemon like a week ago. it's a female scrafty, whose shiny /i/ personally like, but i could understand why other people would find it ugly.
