So assuming GF/Nintendo actually goes along with this, how exactly would it work?
The last time any of the classic games were re-released were on the 3DS and not only were they separate downloads,
but there was no feature for multi-game trades with one another, so you couldn't even complete the pokedex on ANY of the games, of which it was only Gen 1 and 2, so it's fairly easier to do than the other games. Bank didn't even help them because it was more favored towards the Gen 6 and 7 games, so once you did the transfer, goodbye GameBoy pokemon. NVM I double checked, I'm dumb

Only downside is that it was wireless only, not wifi.
I can see GF/Nintendo totally fucking this up. Firstly, it'll be a miracle if the Switch 1 even gets any kind of support for this considering they've been treating it like a piece of shit since the Switch 2 showed up (see the Mario Wonder "update" that is Switch 2 only). Second, they would be full blown retarded if they did the whole "version split" retardation instead of sticking them all under one collection but i can totally see them doing it.
EDIT: Holy shit, I didn't even think about battles. There was no online feature for those in the 3DS GB ports, if they drop the ball with that as well, they are going to loose a FUCK-TON of support and good-will. So many people want to battle each other online with the classic games.
