Funny to see that you dislike it since one of my favorite stuff is this set of cards that came in chips in Brazil that was basically the anime design and a photoshop texture.

I would literally love to have access to all these textures

You might appreciate the original topps trading card set in that case. The backgrounds were related to their typing and there was a gimmick where certain cards were cut in a way to have a serrated edge, like with dragonite or aerodactyl.

Since I no longer care to stay up-to-date about Pokémon news, I'm just popping back in to leave a note today that I've been thinking of attempting the live PokéDex to the best of my ability. On SoulSilver, I'm 100 away from a complete registered PokéDex, although I have no idea how to get a Mew and Celebi (and Deoxys, Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus *checks* and a Kyogre and Regigigas for the live 'Dex). I do have the virtual console Gen I and II games if someone's found a way to trade them up, though, and I'm gonna play through Platinum before I eventually hand it over to my husband.

I'm keeping an eye out for wild copies of FireRed and HeartGold (possibly Emerald, too) because I don't want to start over my LeafGreen if I can help it. Ruby I will not touch for the sentimental value (although I would like to replace that battery, the Berry Glitch didn't get fixed when we borrowed the Jirachi disc, might've just been too old/dried out); LeafGreen is in a similar way, although I need to make sure there's nothing on there I cannot replicate ever again like with the record swapping on RSE.

Good luck lol, have you seen the absolute state of the DS Pokemon market in 2026?
I just searched them up on Ebay and look at this absolute lunacy:

These niggers are demanding you pay over $100 for a cartridge. 14 years ago I got the full game + the Pokewalker in minty fresh condition for a fraction of that price.

Do you want a box to go with your cartridge? That'll be $180+, pay up.
I sailed the high seas for these games, I'd love to be able to get a physical cartridge to play in both my 2DS'es but I felt part of my soul leave my body when I paid 40€ for a beat up SoulSilver cartridge and that's not happening again.

BTW if there's any gen 6 or 7 game you want to buy do it now because the price is starting to go up.

That's the cheapest I've seen them being sold at in years, holy shit.
If that's the cheapest then I don't want to know the most expensive.
I did see a cartridge selling for $30 but the chance it's legit is below 0, I learned my lesson after buying a fake Platinum for 20€. HGSS cartridges actually used to be hard to fake because they're unique, they're black instead of the usual dark grey, but a shovelware game that also had a black cartridge was found, so you can no longer rely on cartridge color to tell if it's fake.

This is my game collection I've all purchased new, I'm actually surprised I kept emerald as teenager because I always was forced to sell off my games if I wanted more thats why I got nothing older.
I also had Heart gold but I had a new puppy and some she felt it would be smart to chew it up the night I got it so the box was destroyed and I must have lost the game card along the way.

The switch has been so good for living dex collecting though, I think there are only a couple mythicals like Zarude and Celebi you can no longer get now once Pokebank opens for ZA.

What's wrong with just finding an old game shark or action replay and just forcing one to spawn in.

They now have it that you can even use your original cartridge and with an adapter in a program on the computer you can alter save data on a whim.

Does such a thing even exist.

For competitive nerds, I need to know. I've gotten word Luxray might finally have a decent competitive niche as a hard-hitting off-tank via:

1) the new move Trailblaze increasing his speed and he has the bulk to pull it off,
2) Assault Vest and Intimidate helping his already good defensive stats and HP bulk once he's done the above,
3) I assume the new move Supercell Slam replacing Wild Charge and that recoil isn't hurting his odds either.

I'm not expecting him to be mega-flexible or super duper-viable or the like, but did he finally get out of the hell of being a great-designed but shoddy-to-use 'mon in battles?

I got a couple of pieces of news for ya, one good and one bad.

First the bad news: SciresM is retiring from the public hacking scene citing changes in priorities as he's getting older.

And secondly, TPCi has altered when special sets are legal for sanctioned tournament play. Previously, special sets had to wait two weeks after they officially released (regardless of what product it) for them to be tournament-legal, which caused a lot of trouble in regards to common staples costing double-digit prices due to pack scarcity. Now special sets follow a similar pattern to main sets and they become legal two weeks after their Elite Trainer Boxes or Booster Bundles are released.
BTW if there's any gen 6 or 7 game you want to buy do it now because the price is starting to go up.
I think Gen 6 and 7 games might be protected from the exorbitant prices GBA and DS games are seeing thanks in part due to it being really easy to install CFW to a 3DS, the only issue is that the prices for 3DSs are rising too.

At an event I went to last year right after PRE dropped there were vendors trying to sell staples like poffin and vessel for $5 each knowing full well that it was an easy pull in that set. They knew that vendors were taking advantage of the FOMO and wanted to put an end to it.

I've seen some prerelease pulls for Ass Heroes and the Pokepad seems to be pretty low given how pretty much 99% of decks will be running 4 of it.
They should just release Assheroes all at once instead of making me go into EB games to pick up my order every week, I feel so greasy and fake being surrounded by Funkopops and stuff.
Right now it seems almost all besides the 3 pack is being Delayed to the 20th in Aus with the Booster bundle being April, what an absolute dogshit artificial scarcity release schedule with squeezing in Nullifying Zero right in the middle.

I sold my own old copy of HeartGold with full box, papers, and PokeWalker on Ebay last year for $400, and it sold so quickly (like less than 30 minutes after putting it up) that I think I ripped myself off a little. Emerald can go for a lot too. I sold my old Emerald with the full original packaging included for like $650 within a week of putting it up.

Emerald prices keep going up which is kinda surprising since a lot of stuff peaked during Covid and has dropped since.
I'm Gonna keep mine until I really need money, I should get a protective box or something for it though.

it’s not as bad as the psyduck and golduck promos where they just completely axed it for an unplayable drifloon and drifblim promo, which allowed for scalpoids and collectorfags to try to hold it above players heads by asking $10-$15 USD. I don’t even go to gamestop anymore and haven’t got a good while now, being around all of those funko pops is just an awful experience and they’re never going to move them so you can see them collecting dust.

If I decide to keep playing once G rotates out, I’m probably just going to continue to just buy singles because you’re guaranteed to get what you want.
