Clearly this 4chan nigger doesn't know what Mold Breaker does.

Haxorus was a victim of power creep. It was actually pretty strong when it was first introduced, it had a pretty solid movepool of Dragon Dance, Earthquake, Outrage and Superpower, and back then its 76/90/70 bulk was actually enough to let it use one or two DDs before demolishing things with its 147 attack (for comparison, Zekrom's is 150 and Salamence's is 135).

Also, did the Flygonfags' shouting result in anything? Didn't think so.
Mold Breaker is nice. Let's look at what it's competing against. I'll take the best ability of each mon in the other gens that isn't banned.
Dragonite: Multiscale. Yeah, Dragonite's got a far better ability but it'd been neglected to this point.
Tyranitar: Sand Stream (or Unnerve if you want doubles). They initially slapped Sand Stream on to limit Ttar until it ended up defining it.
Metagross: Clear Body. Intimidate immunity kicks the dogshit out of Mold Breaker for a physical attacker.
Salamence: Intimidate or Moxie. Yeah, this one is just disgusting.
Garchomp: Rough Skin (Sand Veil would be better, but I'm considering Smogon's BL). Chomp's bulky enough to make a Rocky Helmet set punishing, and even without that build the extra chip can help give it ranges.
Hydreigon: Levitate. EQ immunity's always going to be a valuable tool to have.
(Haxorus with Mold Breaker sounds nice, but that speed tier of 97 is the real killer. 140/104 would have done a whole lot more compared to its 147/97 because it needs that DD to outspeed the speed 100 tier, and that bulk does not stand up in that context.)

And after?
Goodra: Even though it's honestly mid, Sap Sipper and Hydration are both pretty good abilities. It just got fucked over by a combination of odd stat distribution and no good setup moves. Hisuian Goodra gets good use out of all three abilities, but a defensive 600 bst mon really needs good recovery outside rest. The generation was still dominated by megas, though.
Kommo-o: I can see legitimate arguments for all of its abilities. Overcoat stopping spore is really big, but Soundproof and Bulletproof give niche immunities to good moves. It also has the bulk to do a DD set.
Dragapult: Clear Body would be good if it could honestly use its Ghost STAB, but Infiltrator really helps it more here. Besides, it doesn't have the bulk to mess with DD.
Baxcalibur: Thermal Exchange on a physical attacker is disgusting, full stop.

As you can see Haxorus was pretty outclassed considering what people thought its competition would be when it came out and mons after only made it clear what was lacking.

Hax is not bad it's just outclassed. mono dragon is kinda bad tbh.
No dual stabs, no double resistances or granted immunities.
Mold Breaker is only good for EQ, 2bad the role of the EQ apex predator is already given to Excadrill in gen 5.

In case you're looking 4 romhacks:

I played the beta like 2022 it already was a whole game but they added a ton of content over the last three years.

it was fine until the Fairy type came along. Now almost every team has a fairy type. Back then, not too many people had ice types because even now they are considered the worst type ever (at least defensively).

Before Fairy, the only Mono-Types aside from Haxorus were Druddigon (which I like more than Haxorus to be honest) and the pre-evolutions of Dragonite/Salamance. Everyone else has a crippling 4x Ice weakness due to the secondary Flying/Ground types and the only non-legendaries that had a different typing is Kindra and Hydreigon.

Post Fairy, Goodra is OK as a mono-type since there are more special fairy attacks than Physical (Moonblast/DazzlingGleam being more reliable than Play Rough's 90% accuracy), so it can tank a hit or two. The less said about Regidrago the better.

Dragonite has Multiscale, in earlier gens it was kinda meh
Kingdra is a bank, the double fire and water resistance make it a safe switch for common types
Salamence outspeeds and OHKOs every threat after 1 DD
Goodra with assault vest and poison coverage can stand his ground against fairies, hisuian straight up walls em
Druddigon is cool, sadly he never got an evo, mega or regional form. They even slapped one onto duraludon the generation right after its debute. Druddigon remains forgotten.
Seems like only the ugly mon ever get support nowadays, outside Kanto allstars. *sigh*

In Gen 2-3 people were running ice type coverage on bulky water tanks like suicune or vaporeon. Full health Salamence would live one ice beam coming from a mid special attack stat with low EV investment. If you couldnt weaken the watertanks before your dragon started sweeping, you did something wrong.
I believe Weavile only ever was OU because of garchomp.

BABY type has troon colors
Because the troon flag is based on the colors already associated with male and female.

So this is a fanseries thing, but I don't know what other thread this would go in aside from this one and I think it could do with some discussion because I think it's pretty neat and an interesting thing.

There's a Pokémon Source Filmmaker fanseries that started back in 2013 called Starter Squad:

It started very much as a light and goofy comedy but then started developing an actual decently engaging story partway through. You can watch in pretty much real time as the creator, Shippiddge, hones & refines his craft with the comedy bits getting better, the music amping up, and the action scenes getting really good.

The last episode was four years ago:

And it ended on a pretty big cliffhanger. It's also the best in terms of animation, obviously.

Since this episode in 2021, there have only been a few supplemental materials uploaded in the interim.
In 2022:
(noncanon skit)

In 2023:
(seemingly canon)

I had initially missed this, but on Christmas Day, he uploaded this.

The next episode comes out tomorrow, after four full years of waiting on a cliffhanger, and the series in total amassing tens of millions of views on his channel.

You can go to that big Patreon scraper site to see his page (warning; this site has porn ads if you don't have an ablocker enabled) and it turns out he's been uploading WIP screenshots/gifs and status updates for years there, there's a few spoiler-filled GIFs from the next episode, and some of it unironically looks movie-quality (specifically the action ones).

I guess my point is this is one of the very few Pokémon-related things that I can genuinely get excited about, because Nintendo sucks so much cock that a webseries unironically has more soul and care put into it than Game Freak would ever care to.

The series almost certainly isn't up to everyone's taste, but I think it's worth checking out, and I figured that since there isn't any discussion of it yet here on Kiwi Farms, I might as well mention it here in the Pokémon thread before the next episode releases.

Finally got all of the replacement parts, tools, and guides that I needed.
Got some help at a repair shop with a screw that was stripping.
Pried the shell apart.
Disconnected everything inside.
Finally got that fucking hinge pin out.
Removed the old, broken screen.
Almost done, feeling proud of what I'm about to have accomplished.
Going to put it all back together and have a working 2DS XL tonight.
Finally, actually took a close look at the new replacement screen that I'm seconds away from putting in.
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm.jpg
Oh, wait a minute. This thing's scratched to shit. This is literally unusable.

lmaoing at myself at this point

Speaking of Mega Flygon, do any of you find a fan Mega Flygon design that was actually good? /sincere/
Not really, most of them add more wings and spikes and call it a day.

Several Mega Flygons bring back elements from Trapinch and Vibrava and this one's the only one I like. I know I shouldn't because it's literally the same gimmick as skibidi Feraligatr, but Trapinch looks nothing like Flygon so it's not as retarded as Feraligatr cosplaying a smaller version of itself.

Bug Flygon.webp
This one's just "Flygon but more wings" and it goes all in on the dragon/bug idea despite bug being a downgrade from ground, but at least it looks decent so it gets a pass.

This one made me lol

Look I'm more surprised they actually gave Raichu a Mega - shit, 2 Mega Forms - instead of making Pikachu the first Mid-Stage Evolution to get a Mega
And yet both Raichu Megas fuse it to Pikachu. No, I'll never get over it.

I think the only reasonable way to do a Flygon Mega would be to double down on the bug characteristics, but not by making it look like that paradox form of Volcarona.

Dragonfly is the obvious choice, but I just can't see that working given that Flygon has such a long neck. But it makes thematic sense with Levitate and you have an excuse to give it a boost to its speed.

A mud dauber has potential and except for Beedrill (maybe kinda Vespiqueen) there aren't any wasp Pokemon so there's lots of room to pull design aspects from while being original.

Alternatively, go the termite route? I don't think we have any termite pokemon yet.

Jewish Flygon.
That one also looks like "we have mega Salamence at home" with the tucked in arms and uni-wing shape, and it even has an x-ate ability.

I'm really liking the Trapinch one, if it got Arena Trap as an ability it might finally get some respect, though it'd almost certainly be banned from smogon singles.

Bro Flygon is literally an antlion:

IDK why people want Mega Flygon when it was never gonna have a chance compared to Garchomp just...existing.
