The coin flips in the GameBoy game are actually pre-determined before the actual flip, so you're never going to get a "fair" result.
Yoooo, you gave me an opportunity to share a funny moment I had with TCG2
How can someone mess up a simple coin flip that bad? I could write a better coin-flipping code than that.

Code:
C=INT(RND*2)+1
There. If C is 1 it's heads, if it's 2 it's tails.

I’d love just one format without multiple prize Pokemon.
Are you talking about those super 'mons where KO'ing them means drawing more than one prize?

Yeah, they’ve been a dominant force in the game for as long as they’ve been in the format. ex, EX, GX, V//Vstar/Vmax all have these heavy game changing mechanics that make it hard to not use them.

Sadly those kinds of cards could never hold up with how much direct damage counter placement there is in the game now.

Funnily enough both of those cards have counters in the current format: the Dusknoir line has the recent Psyduck/Golduck promos that have an Ability that prevents Cursed Blast from working while the recently-printed Battle Cage Stadium card prevents Pokémon from placing damage counters onto Benched Pokémon via Abilities or attacks.

Psyduck has been seeing a lot of use in recent tournaments (115 decks in Las Vegas Regionals' Masters division had it) but Golduck is a bit more niche (only 4 decks ran it along with Psyduck), Battle Cage is still a bit new but it does see a lot of use in Japan's City League tournaments.
I’d love just one format without multiple prize Pokemon.
That's what the GLC format is for, it's recognized by TPCi (more so than, to the surprise of some people, Expanded is) although it only gets support in the form of side events.

I’ve never seen much of a community outside of a few people online. It’s a shame because the format is actually fun.

It’s funny because the psyduck and golduck were made to answer dusknoir specifically, but also hose munkidori, dragapult ex, froslass and scream tail. I really hate that collectorfags have a chokehold on those promos because no one who plays should have to pay $10 for a 30 cent card.

still playing pokemon za. i'm at the mission where you have to beat the judo master dude to get to rank D. because i spent so long stalling, trying to find my last party member, i managed to find all the colorful screws except one, which will basically be impossible to find. fortunately you don't need to find all the screws for the canari dolls and their upgrades, but if you're a completionist who has no life or friends, getting all 100 screws nets you a giant canari plushie that sits in your room in hotel z. it doesn't actually DO anything, unlike the other canari dolls, but it's a thing that exists, i guess.

so yesterday i'm pretty sure i accidentally chased off a shiny budew, which i'm kinda bummed about because i like both shiny roselia and roserade. but budew is such a common pokemon that, if i wanted to, i could easily do the area reload method to find a shiny one. today i was graced with a female shiny scraggy, which is cool because mega scrafty, both the normal and shiny version, is pretty badass tbh.

also i somehow managed to find one shiny flabebe (yellow) and two shiny floette (blue and i forget the other one). at first it was nice, but now i just expect every other shiny to be one of those.

anyway my current party is alpha pupitar, banette, shiny altaria, shiny houndoom, ampharos, and feraligatr. i'm debating whether i want to keep alpha pupitar after it evolves into tyrannitar, or if i want to instead train the alpha gible i caught today. i'm also not thrilled that some of my party are pokemon i've used in past games, like houndoom and ampharos, so part of me wants to try to switch those guys out, but we'll see, i guess.

so far i think the game is /alright/. it's not amazing, it's playable. tbh it feels unfinished, but that's just pokemon games these days. hopefully the upcoming dlc adds some qol features like, i dunno, maybe being able to ride a gogoat or some shit through the city, because running is still too slow.

/autism

I hate how bad the TCG has gotten thanks to people who don’t even play the game. The espeon and umbreon promos are being resold for like $35+ each and the box is going for $150+ when it doesn’t even MSRP that much. Makes me sad because those were two of my favorites from gen 2, but anything related to umbreon gets jacked up due to retards trying to make him the post-COVID charizard.

I think there’s a lot of this self centered attitude as well with so many of these people where they get upset at the thought of someone else getting to purchase something and not let them buy it all. It’s funny to watch these retarded (and usually brown and/or dysgenic) people fight over cards for a game they won’t play, but it says a lot about the kind of people that’ve taken over the space. I don’t know if I’ve said it or not, but scalpers aren’t near as bad as the people who use them as a boogeyman to justify buying out stores to beat them out. They have the same childish mentality that was rampant with pokemania in 1999, except they were actually kids back then. A lot of them don’t even know about the pokemon or the characters. It’s like why even collect these cards? Do you actually like pokemon or are you trying to relive nostalgia?

You've got to be kidding me...
I've mentioned this before but European ORAS (and Persona Q) cartridges are very prone to malfunctioning. If it happens you can backup your save using Checkpoint on a modded 3DS and transfer it to a digital copy of the game, I did this to my Alpha Sapphire.

Anyway, I recently came back to Explorers of Sky, I'm currently trying to get the 4 unique scarves that can only be found in Zero Isle South and it's being fucking miserable. They're only found from floor 90 to 98, (literally just 8 floors out of 99), and only in Kecleon shops, and even if you do find a shop it may not have any scarves (and if it does you have to steal from him because they're outrageously expensive, but that's the easy part, pure seeds still work like a charm in this game).

The dungeon isn't even hard, you're nigh-unbeatable as a Drifloon with Minimize + Stockpile, it's just boring. Having to slog through 99 floors in the hopes that the last 8 will maybe have a rare item is annoying and I've had some runs where there wasn't a single Kecleon shop after floor 89, or there was a Kecleon shop but it didn't sell the unique scarves. If this keeps up I'm wonder mailing them.

And just got worse: TPCi put up preorders for their next special set, Ascended Heroes, up on the Pokémon Center yesterday and a Japanese trademark for a “Celebrations Collection” set was discovered today.

I hate to say this but I’m starting to think the only way any of this will get fixed is if someone gets their wires crossed and shoots up a release day waiting line at a GameStop.

Ascended heroes is a reprint set for the most part, reprinting play staples to make them more accessible. I’ve seen people gripe about the set but holy shit they’re still trying to buy it up. It’s so pitiful that it’d take something drastic to even begin to start fixing any of this. I wouldn’t feel bad for anyone who camps out outside of gamestop because you deserve to get robbed if you do.

It’s basically going to be a majority of the cards from MEGA Dream ex (which recently had its Secret Rares revealed) and some cards from Japan’s Start Deck 100 Battle Collection line of decks thanks to a leaked Gold Rare Mega Charizard Y ex.

The big problem is that TPCi is really disconnected from all the horrors going on with the TCG whilst also being at the root of it as far as production goes, their response to the whole Prismatic Evolutions insanity was a “promise” to print more product that was basically copypasted from a response to Celebrations selling out. They can easily ignore some retards getting stabbed in line, but people actually getting murked whilst doing so reflects badly on both GameStop and TPCi.

On the plus side GameStop’s been getting bitten in the ass for pricing the Mega Charizard X Premium Ultra-Premium Collection at $200 (the UPC sells for $119 MSRP and the market value for it is around $140). Stores have been flush with product when they really shouldn’t be due to Black Friday stock coming in and it’s gotten so bad they’ve resorted to actually selling it on their online store, something they haven’t done since February.

Pokemon Vega:

Altair/Sirius already Used lots of the anime movies plota points in the game and it isn't different with Vega. This time we go back to the first movie with Mewtwo being the final gym leader.
1000051209.png

One cool thing about this fight is that he actually uses the clone pokemon from the movie
1000051211.png
1000051213.png

After beating the gym and beating the bad guys, I finally go to the victory road puzzle and it isn't as cancer as I thought, but having to use 2 slots just to use HM slaves is troublesome so I decided to just fight everyone else that I could in the first run until I died and couldn't fight anymore and find the exit in the next expedition.

I was left with two Pokemon when the rival fight started, my Aurostice is fucking amazing and I made the right call to use her again even after using her in Altair. Even more in this version that uses fairy types too. She saved my ass.

However when I beat the rival, I thought that the victory road was over... It wasn't there were still trainers to fight and I was with only one pokemon there. So I used escape rope and healed my team and got back.

When I finally got into the league, I wanted to buy some items and... There wasn't. I wanted some full restores and revives but there werent any. I knew there were in the game but I used mine before not knowing this. This changed everything. I had to go blind into the E4 knowing that I cant afford losing my pokemon at all. So I decided to save before entering each room and using the first time as scout their team and types. There were electric/poison/steel/fire.

For three of them I had direct counters but I was absolutely fucked with electric, my only ground TM was for my water starter Correncid that was 2x weak to it, so I hae the most trouble with him, using healing items before I could be killed.

And there was also a problem: I only had 5 pokemon that I trained due to HM slave bullshit, so I brought in an Articuno that I caught just to fill in (my Aurostice completely mogged him in moves and level)

After beating one by one I finally got at the champion... Who ended up being the final gym leader in the last game, the Alto Mare gym leader Sylvia.

1000051217.png

I had lost Articuno to a crit, so I was already down to five and her team was stacked.

1000051299.png

She was way higher in levels than me (this version of the game lowers the level curve to diminish the grinding) and after beating her Aerodactyl she would switch from her Metagross to her Serplant as I tried to chip away Metagross life with surf to lower its life, then out of nowhere she changed it to Folifarig who absolutely oneshoted me with Psyburn.
1000051219.png

We traded some pokemons until I choose my strongest: Aurostice. The beast who got so lucky that her enemy was a nostratos who is flying dragon against a ice goddesss and her final Necrosia who got fucking Moonblasted to oblivion.
1000051221.png

And that was it, I finally beat the first E4 in Vega Fairy Edition EX
1000051223.png

This team of shitters arent balanced at all but I loved using them, I just wish there werent HMs so I could use more
1000051225.png

Then after beating the game, I get called by my father and he says that there are more pokemon in caves that appeared after so I decided to find some new pokemon, I found two new species of ant Pokemon, a fighting/bug type and a psychic/bug type and deep in the caves I found a gym leader that I beat before. Maybe they will let you fight rematchs here and I tried....

He had a lvl 80 pokemon out of the blue. I was absolutely BTFO. I knew that Altair/Vega were grindy games (and this is a modified version to not be as grindy) but to jump to 20 levels is just crazy.

I don't know if I can say this yet without playing the post game, but this game is really good, I love the fakemon designs in this game, the story is a little better than the usual pokemon slop and it actually uses other elements from other media like Pokemon rangers, the films, the capture stylus from the DS games and so on. The puzzles in this game are HARD, I had to cheat one of them due to this difficulty that involved not being able to see and timing alongside slide puzzles and moving rocks that any mistake was punishing as fuck.

The game feels like a gen 3.5 with elements from the DS games like it would be released alongside the gen 4 games but at the same time for the GBA.

You can't play this game without Altair Minus tho, it is a direct sequel. And the only thing that bums me out now... Is that the sequel Procyon isn't finished yet, they sometimes releases new pokemon here and there but the final game will have to wait.

Go play this duology if you don't like Fakemon, this will change your mind in these cool pokemon.

Though I already linked to some YouTubers hyping the game, I ask the farms here: what do Pokéfans think of Digimon Story: Time Stranger?

I didn't play it but watched some videos on it and it seems that is just a good game (I always liked Digimon monster designs more than Pokémon)

So all mechanics from past games like CS is improved to make a better game.

I saw them reprinting the dusknoir from shrouded fable again and fez ex from that same set, which are both good. I don’t get the hate for this set when it’s not like these people even pay attention to or care about anything that’s not an IR/SIR. It reminds me of the people talking out of their ass about there being evolving skies and crown zenith reprints coming soon.

They’re already trying to prospect for the next hyped card to gas up because now bubble mew is dropping. This will just lead to a repeat of the same cycle, and morons like Dani here will complain about scalping while writing the playbook for them.

One of the things fomotards seem to forget is that print runs span for 3 years. As soon as a prismatic drop happens, they panic buy all of it because they’re afraid of it disappearing. They’re still doing that with 151 and it still has a few months. GameStop doesn’t care, their whole deal with PSA turned out to be a way to loop money into TCG sales because you can trade in 10s for store credit. They’re not going to worry too much about a retard getting robbed or hurt. It’ll get written off because the people coming into this space are morons. They’re too dumb to see trends or even ask questions like why is a card from last month worth more than chase cards from a decade and a half ago?

I love seeing this because it’s one of those things that only negatively impacts people I dislike. Like lmao, eat shit and hold onto those. Yeah, they might be worth more than that in the future like the SwSh one, but that’s time you can’t afford to wait and time where people run the risk of dropping out.

Nigger you could’ve just bought a couch instead of doing this lmao.
