Charon was using a machine to control all other pokemon and make them violent, and now he put the international police former pokemon, a growlithe against the two boys. Koya couldn't fight against the pokemon that made him fearful of even touching pokemon so he accepted all blows given to him by the Growlithe. However Haretawas adamant that the Growlithe didn't hate Koya and used his Empoleon in the fight. Charon was using a larger machine but also had a chip implanted in growlithe's fur to do his biding. The move that caused the trauma in Growlithe was Surf. So Hareta after "talking" with the Growlithe commanded his Empoleon to surf the fuck out of it, even using his Minun to paralyze Koya. After receiving the surf, it destroyed the chip and released it from control. And the Growlithe accepted the surf even tho it hurted him but they finally reunited after Koya abandoned his Growlithe to become a policeman.
Meanwhile Mitsumi is with the Galactic team rescuing Cyrus from Charon. I really liked his part that Cyrus still somewhat cared about Mitsumi, he understands that her place isn't with him and they bid goodbye. And they all leave to chade Charon who wants to control Giratina.
As they get to the Distortion world, they found Hareta's father and the goons all fucked up by Giratina who starts blasting the fuck of everyone in the DW. Hareta, Jun and Koya tries to fight Giratina but no dice. The machine didn't work at all and Giratina is pissed. Hareta fights Giratina himself and tanks his attacks with his body. Giratina escapes to the real world, and two Pokemon appear: Dialga and Palkia. More fights happen. The thing about this Giratina is that it really wants to fight other pokémon, and being alone in the distortion world doesn't help it. So when it is free a gigantic brawl starts with all previous trainers, Mitsumi and the leaders of Team Galactic. All the Galactic goons are captured by the gym leaders.
When Mitsumi and others got there they brought Sitrus berries to heal everyone but Hareta also gave one to Giratina in order to fight at full power (why not full restores?). Hareta's father, who previously went into the distortion world and was the only one who knew how to get there actually knew
that his son and Giratina's personality would be similar and battle driven, so he knew that it was a match made in heaven for both of them. They all have a big pokemon battle and they part their ways.
Charon escapes and tries to get Heatean again but is caught by Looker, who also informs us that team Galactic has been disbanded by Cyrus. (But nothing is said about the admins and Cyrus, are they in jail or not? Maybe they just fucked off to another place) Hareta and Koya goes back to the Sinnoh tournment to discover who will win and go to the final. Here however no battle is shown, we don't know who won, Hareta or Koya, we also get to see a small panel with the rest of the E4 besides Flint.
Some time later Koya and his Growlithe came to the meadow where Hareta was raised as a jungle boy to ask him to join the international police. However Hareta really doesn't give a shit about it and runs away saying that he felt the smell of adventure. His Regigigas step on Mitsumi (lol) who laters give him new clothes and the national dex and asks him to travel alongside her to complete the new dex. Mitsumi tells Koya that he is almost like a Pokemon and he doesn't plan ahead and likes to be close to nature. Hareta puts his Platinum fit and embarks in a new adventure finishing this story.
We don't get more than this, what happened to Cyrus, the admins, Jun and everyone else, we don't know.
