I am Late, myself, but... GameFreak may think tha they are being clever, but Mega Feraligatr is very exceptional.
I already talked about in page 1196 about how fan Mega Feraligatr designs appear bootleggy, but GameFreak managed to make them look stellar!

A big improvement would involve someone modelling Elite Redux Mega Feraligatr, maybe giving that model that Spaceworld 99 sprite stance, then replacing Game Freak's Mega Feraligatr.
Of course, that assumes that I would be playing Z-A in the first place.

EDIT: I didn't post this earlier, because I didn't care, but in case anyone else still does here's the supposedly leaked list of DLC Megas (possibly excluding Kalos because it's mostly derived from missing dex entries in the base game's data).

Given that this doesn't account for Raichu's two, some of these guys could be getting multiple Megas. Not like it matters, since the roster is so abysmally shit anyways. The newest trailer revealed two of these-- Chimecho and Baxcalibur-- while hinting at Golisopod and Golurk, so this is looking to be another base game situation where we already know 90% of the new content ahead of time.

The designs have not improved, in case Baxcalibur wasn't enough proof. This is Mega Chimecho: literally just Chimecho with a Chingling hat.

The leaks of the base ga megas were completely accurate, but my skepticism i still strong wi these.

It really feels like this character was supposed to be white-skinned, but then some product manager karen at the end of development was like "Actually we need to you to make her black as fuck because we have to meet X target of POC main characters" and then GF just lazily made the skin color darker and changed nothing else. I just think it looks really bad. It looks more like a white noblewoman doing black face than an actual black woman. The number of young black girls who will see this and feel validated is approaching 0. Lenora is an example of it done infinitely better.

It's weird cuz pokemon actually have always done dark or tanned characters pretty well...until ZA.
 
Alright lads, time for a mega post about my impressions on Diamond and Pearl Adventure volume 2-5.


There is something funny about what was Cyrus watching a contest and meeting Hareta for the first and sending regards to Mitsumi, something that will come back later.

One recurring character is a big assed Grunt that once Hareta fought against. And yeah, it is drawn like this every time.

Cynthia appears and says that she wants to fight against Mitsumi, at this point we know there is more to her character.

This manga have some interesting dynamics to the whole of Team Galactic admins, Mars is kinda friendly to Hareta and Jupiter is really antagonizing to Mitsumi. Saturn is the least well defined of the trio.

Cyrus sometimes shows a love for Pokemon battle that both and Hareta somewhat bonds over, letting him run free to see if he can come back and fight him again. His reasoning is less autism droven and more madman wannabe god.

Hareta is always a cheerful boy no matter the situation, this moment made me laugh, but funnily every single of these antics is somehow involved in the fights.

Cynthia's grandma wants some of that rock hard Rowan's cock alongside Jun wanting some of that Mitsumi's pussy. Always played for laughs.

This moment was interesting because it reminded me of the gen 5 games where all Gym leaders appeared at once in the game and the manga. I wonder if this manga chapter came out before BW.

And this is a part of Mitsumi's team as she fights against Jupiter again in one of the lakes. Also cool clothes.

This is the confirmation moment that Mitsumi was a member of team Galactic in the past and why Jupiter hates her so damn much.

This part is funny, You know who owns the Regi trio? CANDICE. It was one of the brain frontiers in the anime, right? She wants to test Hareta to see if he can wake up Regigas. Hareta fights against it and undertands hos heart as a Pokemon that wants to fight strong pokemon, Hareta captures it and is added into the team.

Hareta goes to Galactic base and voilà, he encounters Mitsumi in her Galactic uniform, she looks really good with it. Cyrus is watching and he orders her to fight.

Mitsumi has no chill, remember what I said about Hareta earlier how he likes to fight against Pokemon too and the necessity of pokemon on human violence? Here is the result:

Why would Mitsumi do this against Hareta? Cyrus has her eevee as a hostage and will KILL IT if she doesn't do his bidding. Why does she have an eevee if she had a glaceon early?

Mitsumi is taking her job very seriously and send at the same time Electrivire, Dusknoir and Rhyperior. Shit is fucked and Hareta still have just a Piplup.

Time for more murder, Hareta needs some help and sends in Regigas who almost fucking kills Mitsumi before Hareta stops him.

As the fight ends, Jupiter is left watching them as Cyrus goes to MT. Coronet to get Dialga. Jupiter hates her so much that she attempts a murder by explosion and Mitsumi without no Pokemon just accepts her fate.

However she wasn't alone, Jun saved her with a screen before she could become hamburger. And he also saved her eevee and they fly over there. Also she reveals that early in the journeys she made Piplup hold an everstone, to nerf Hareta and she removes it, Piplup evolves into Prinlup then Empoleon. Hell yeah.

Did you think that Galactic Butt would be gone? No he is there too. Also a reminder that Viz fucking sucks, there is a few errors in the translation like here where they refer to him as a team rocket member

The fifth volume I didn't get many screenshots, but it is mostly the encounter with MT. Coronet and Cyrus revealing his plan, shocking even his admins. He uses the red chain to control dialga and shit.

They fight but holy shit this manga buffs Dialga to high level. The lake trio breaks the chain and dialga is out of control, palkia shows up and they start fighting and shit cyrus, the admins, cynthia and the gym leaders all fight against Dialga, Empoleon tries to sacrifice himself to stop it.

Cyrus gave Hareta a master ball earlier, so he tries to capture Palkia who just disappears and says lol no and hits it away and continue fighting.

Cyrus reveals that there is a chance as Dialga uses Roar of Time and to everyone attack that moment. Meanwhile Hareta is literally holding Palkia with his arms to not let him disappears into space and Dialga manages to hit it. Now everyone attacks Palkia and they stop fighting each other. Cyrus escapes and the volume ends.

The story covers the antagonist plot up to here. But there is three volumes left, I wonder if they are going to focus on the elite 4 or other mystery like Palkia or other legendaries. The action was great and I am really enjoying this adaptation. It has all that kodomo manga charm.

I don't like it either, but at the same time, I think we were always going to run into this wall again eventually.
Like how once you transferred up a Pokémon from Gen 3 to Gen 4, it couldn't be sent back, same for Gen 4 to Gen 5, and so on. The ability to transfer Pokémon back and forth between older and newer games, like we've had during the Switch era, has been a rarity.

Yesterday I did read Volume 6, just two to go.

What happens after the main plot was that they held a tournment, just like the anime (I much prefer this content over E4), so they all join to watch. This part reminds me of Yuyu Hakusho, where the debris of the fight actually got out of the hand and could hurt the viewers.

Jun fights a new character and is absolutely mogged. (They can hold 6 pokemon and use 3). This kid used a Metagross and Absol and just the absol soloed Jun. Also this page is my reaction to vaporeon stans:

This is a later bracket where Hareta finally fights against the new boy. However someone is watching the fight.... Hansom. You kay know him as Looker, but in japanese his name is Handsome. So his name here is closer to the original name in the name not localized version. He is searching for Kasei qnd I don't know why yet.

The new edgy boy is someone who has methods different from Hareta, and guess what? He is also an member of the international police. Well, well, well, we kinda had a situation like this before with pokespe with one of the protagonists of BW2 arc. Funny to see happen even before. By the way, he is this way because when he was a child his Growlithe lost badly against an oponent and his Growlithe got really scared by everything. This made me think: what if there was mental doctors to pokemon to treat cases like abuse, abandonment and so on? The anime had cases like this but I imagine a class of trainers in game. Maybe it is too dark for pokemon but an interesting idea to explore if pokemon wasn't neutered.

You know what was missing in this volume? Some dose of terrorism, so the Team Galactic NEO set up some bombs to explode in the stadium, and yeah they are prepared to die alongside everyone.

Hareta actually knows where the bomb is because of his strategy earlier in the fight, so again they use the same strategy to save Mitsumi to save everyone by using powerful light screen around the bomb.

The tournament is saved and at the same time canceled and we get a gimple of Why Mitsumi suddenly stopped fighting and decide to go do contests, as she saw her Feebas evolve into Milotic, but she will fight Cynthia offscreen to make Cynthia happy that her tournement was canceled.

Two volumes to go and I guess I have an idea on what will happen next: Charon and Giratina, the mystery about the international police and Hareta's father and maybe an epilogue to what happened to Cyrus.
