If there's one thing I'm happy about regarding Z-A is that Shinies don't despawn in the overworld (even if you leave the general area or turn off he game) unless you fail to catch it after you KO it or if they're a skittish/flying Pokémon that's prone to running away and that the game can apparently keep 10 of them in before bumping one off to make room for a new one..
That said I kind of agree with you on it looking like it's been neglected for 20-30 years. I'd compare it to various dilapidated Nazi bases and munitions factories from WW2 (and some abandoned Cold War-era Soviet bases) in terms of damage, disrepair, and how quickly Team Flare left the building.

I didn't look up much about the game or DLC leading up to release, so I was surprised to see the 30 dollar hoopa ring DLC (they did hoopa rings for free in ORAS) doesn't even come out until February.

From what I've heard you have to save your game, otherwise they will disappear if you turn off the game (or more likely it crashes) before you catch it. I've seen people running up and down that tower in wild zone 3, since that reloads all the pokemon in the area. Not sure what other zones have such an easy way to do it but I'm sure you'll see 20 sloptube videos about it soon.

Just going to remind people who haven't seen his content that Frogmire literally just makes the most spicy points in his videos that will give him the best engagement possible. The game seems to take place in Southeast Asia, has a marine/tropical theme and has every single Pokemon rideable. The goal is to make a game with infinite amount of content, in other words the Bethesda styled radiant quests and randomly generated islands like the "thousand planets" of Starfield. Considering this is Gamefreak we are talking about here, it's likely going to go just as well. Hell, if they can't even make a game set in one city without it crashing at launch, just imagine a game with randomly generated content on the go lmfao
Here is Project Seed, some sort of mmo(?) where the entirety of Japan in the Pokemon world is accessible, for example you can walk from Sinnoh to Hoenn and vice versa, as well as from Johto to Kanto

I'm having trouble with the Teraleak 2 files from that 4chan link. I downloaded them, but when I try to open or extract the source code zip I get a catastrophic failure error, does anyone know how to solve this?

Let me put this straight: 2 games ago, these motherfuckers had tobias fuchs work at their game and make a track. When deltarune's chapter 3+4 came out, Steam broke. As of now, only 4 chapters out of 7 were released, deltarune is a fourth of pokemon ZA's full price, not including nintendo switch online subscription and its still a more complete game with longer playtime than ZA will ever be post DLC release.

I have no intention of getting the game besides probably the high seas, but did they at least give the option to customize your character so you can have the blonde/pink hairstyle instead of the rival having it? That sounds like a no brainer.

Sorta, you have to unlock them by getting all the flabebe colors and then fighting them all at once later.
These are color blocking with platinum and peach, switching main and blocked.
This is balayage with the same.
Different hairs have different ways it shows up but I don't want to do them all, for example:
Black and white blocking and balayage on a different hair style.

For anyone wondering, the torrent with all the Teraleak stuff from last year is still up for those who haven't downloaded that. I'm not going to give you a link, but you can easily find it on /vp/ archives when you search for the latest /ppg/ threads(latest from last year, anyways). Some of the videos on cut/beta content seem to be privated, however. Wish I could say this is an outlier, but it isn't, these fucking niggers do it all the time. This is why there will never be a good central preservation website or effort, if it's not lead by psychotic tranny retards like TCRF is then you have egotistical tranny retards on discord or other platforms who want to hoard what should be public knowledge. The bright side is that if you have the Teraleak files, you can access that content, you know assuming you have a computer with terrabytes of memory and know exactly how to access the data on all these builds, but the possibility is there.
If this is the "best customization" Pokemon ever had...lol, lmao even. Customization niggers are the worst, if you have one good central design for a character then that shouldn't matter. Serena and Calem from XY are usually, 95% of the time drawn with their default outfits for a reason, same with protagonists of Sun/Moon and Sword/Shield.
