The text says they plan for Gen 10 to be survival-themed open world across some islands.
lmao they sued Palworld because they're mad PocketPair did mon-collecting open-world survival crafting slop before they did.
Pal World actually mind broke these fucks, didn't it. Good fucking lord, them level of trend chasing going on here...

I had some misplaced hope for Gen 10, yeah that's long gone - now I kinda want to see just how much of a train wreck it turns into.

Pokémon is proving once again that it's five to ten years behind the times. A battle royale, really?

Also, are the buildings really just flat planes with a texture on them, again? This is unacceptable in every aspect.

I must be getting old because the new designs look like dogshit, and I defended the fucking ice cream mons back in gen V.
Back in the day, new 'mons was exciting. Especially back with Gen 2 on the horizon (remember Pikablu?). Now it is more like "More crappy new vidya and 'mons? Pass." instead.

Gen 9 specially, anything that isn't a Paradox or a direct past mon evolution is just a big memory hole.
I'm not gonna lie, I had to think for a second on if I remembered any Gen 9 Pokemon that weren't Paradox Pokemon. I got Fuecoco, Tinkaton, and Ogerpon off the top of my head, and I had to go quickly look up what all actually came out in Gen 9.

It does NOT feel like Gen 9 added over 100 Pokemon to the series, but apparently it did.

The whole thing can be beaten in ~10 hours
To give an anecdote, SwSh took 11 hours for me to beat the main story, and SV took around 18-19 hours for main story, and the DS and 3DS games usually took me 16-18 hours to beat the main stories, and at least with the DS games, there's a lot of post game content.
Looks like this Legends Z-A is to pocketmons what Civ 7 is to the Civilization series.
Actually this lines up with how they barely showed anything about Civ 7, just like how they barely showed anything about legends ZA before this year.

Also this might unironically cause a massive uproar in the Pokemon community. One of the main defences for modern Pokemon is that "gamefreak doesn't have enough time to make a fleshed out game" which tbh might be the case for gen 8 and SV (especially how they released 3 games between 2021-2022). But legends ZA's development caused the first year without any major Pokemon content since gen 6 in 2015. This might just mean that modern game freak just genuinely suck at making pokemon and thus destroy the main argument people have of "not enough time."
It does NOT feel like Gen 9 added over 100 Pokemon to the series, but apparently it did.
SV was actually the first generation since gen 5 to add more than 100 pokemon. I wouldn't blaim anyone who thinks they would never introduce 100+ pokemon in a single gen again. Tbh even as someone who's never super critical of pokemon designs, a lot of paldea's designs are kinda forgettable, and they barely reached 100+ pokemon without DLC.

man

>Legends Johto
>in the distant past, at the origin of Pokemon Trainers
>Ride Pokemon return, with Lucario jumping between rooftops
>4v4 shooter minigame

I’m MATI, we were fucking ROOOOOOOOBBED
> “in a time before Pokemon Trainers existed – a story about the origins of Trainers.”
If this was anything like the knuckledragging retardation of Leg Ends Arse where a bunch of retards who don't know how to Pokemon are sent on the Pokemon-centered expedition and need to be taught how to not be completely and utterly unbelievably fucking retarded by random kid from the modern era, as thought every single bit of Pokemon history in prior games hadn't been about Pokemon and humans working and developing alongside each other and that was the entire fucking point of the world and franchise and what makes it interesting because the writers team has been infested with retarded subversionists too busy making all the characters assholes and making every other plotline a funny joke about karoshi like either they're trying to gaslight their underlings into accepting their shit jap work conditions or they're huffing copium as they themselves die... I'm fine with this being scrapped.
If you need me I'll be over here pretending ZA isn't canon to my cool XY fangame plot.

Kind of explains why the games are so dogshit. Why would you give this company money? Its clearly not going to making the games better.
And guess what?

Estimatives profits of the TCG mobile game that are probably less than actually are, a single fucking month of it has more money than these games.

If your games aren't the main focus and you generate so much damn money, how do you justify this fucking lame ass budget for the origin of ALL PRODUCTS? how much more would you make if you invested more in the games? This doesn't make sense at all. This budget is a fucking PITTANCE. An ALLOWANCE. This explain these lame ass games so damn much.

Now I can't wait for the massive cope and seethe from fans trying to justify this game existing. You can like the game but you gotta admit when it's bad man, wtf.
Can't wait to pick up my Kalos mythic catching simulator on Thursday.
I mean, at least you can catch Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion, right? RIGHT?

It's because so many of them look the same. There's three Taurus' that are only mildly different. Two white mouse evolutions that look the same. The pawmot line all look the same. Duddunspace looks the same as dunsparce. The stork is almost indistinguishable from one of the older storks. Like 20 of them are ancient/future forms so they feel the same. There's a ton of filler mons like the flamingo, the tumbleweed, and the rockabilly bird.

Ironic how X & Y may have been seen as kinda lame when they came out. But compared to Z-A...
People where definitely more forgiving of XY's flaws at the time, as it was the first 3D mainline game (I personally consider colosseum and XD mainline but I know most people don't have this view) and at bare minimum, XY wasn't as bad of a transition game as DP were. Plus people thought there was going to be a pokemon Z to fix XY like platinum did with DP.

And imo a lot of criticism towards XY were retrospective, from my experience anyways. I straight up heard people who thought gen 6 is/or are going to be better than gen 5. This was a INCREDIBLY vocal minority (to put it very lightly) but it shows that people did like gen 6 when it came out.

But there's so excuse for ZA's lack of quality and even quantity, especially since the games look like they have a chance of potentially being worse than SwSh or SV.

There's also the fact that of the new pokemon, 17 are exclusive to the dlc, so they hardly feel like they count. 14 past/future mons that are basically locked to the postgame, plus the 4 chink legendaries. Throw in some very uninspired designs, and it feels less than the sum of its parts.
