- Becomes the best game in the series with fun unannounced shit to explore, a desired outcome.
It is completely insane to me that people still consider this a possibility.
Metroid fans threw in the towel after Federation Force broke the
6 year silence Other M inflicted upon them, then rightfully pushed back against Nintendo striking AM2R down when they tried to retreat into fandom.
Sonic fans knew they weren't getting shit after Unleashed. That was
10 years after Adventure split the fandom. After that point, they started retreating into fanmade mods/games and treating every new release with suspicion.
Depending on whether you want to count XY or BW as the start of the end, it has been either
12 or 15 years since the oldest subpar game in the series, yet there is still a not-insubstantial portion of Pokémon fans who truly think the series will reach new heights "any day now" based off of
nothing but pure hopium.
Gamefreak have squandered the potential of the Switch time and time again so badly that it has tarnished the
entire console's reputation, and mismanaged the rest of the franchise to such an extent that their brand name is now synonymous with cheap, rushed, crap. Impressively, they have even
worsened with time, in almost every conceivable aspect. To think that any new game of theirs might even meet the subpar standards of other AAA Nintendo games on the market right now is a level of lunacy I cannot imagine, and I sincerely do not understand what could make anyone think Z-A will be anything but horribly subpar. They announced $40 DLC
before the full game even came out, how the fuck does this signal quality to anyone?
If anyone reading this thread
genuinely, unironically believes Z-A has the potential to be anything more than inoffensive mush at best, can you elaborate on
why? Is there anything more to your hope than wishful thinking or childhood nostalgia? I can't imagine this sentiment becoming so widespread without some kind of reasoning to it, so I'm curious.
