Speaking of Cutiefly(or rather Rimbombee), this is one of the few Pokemon I had trouble using. Has anyone had good competitive experience with it? For me, it's just too weak and doesn't do much of anything, especially with Gen 7's massive power creep. I hate it when a Pokemon is useless in competitive, especially one just introduced, but for the life of me I can't think of a way to make it useful. Sadly, same goes for one of my all time favorites Granbull, who just can't cut it in that environment either, had to get another good Fairy type when I still played online.
I played exclusively on Showdown with PU/RU formats, so my experiences with it are pretty biased with other crappy mons lol.

Rimbombee wasn't actually that bad in the higher tiers from what I can recall, they were considered to be the fastest Sticky Web user in Gen 7, so that was a niche user you could have even in Ubers. They also had access to Quiver Dance and Fairy Type, which was allowed to setup against most dragon users. You could even be a madman and run Ribombee with Oricorio for DOUBLE QUIVER DANCE ACTION in Doubles, as long as your opponent wasn't running a Rock Slide lead (impossible).

But yeah, in the weaker formats, Rimbom was pretty good, but that's mainly because it could take at least one hit before being disintegrated most of the time.

That makes sense, I never bothered to try out Sticky Web in a competitive environment to a serious degree. I did use Oricorio + Quiver Dance, but that was with Volcarona, an infinitely better Pokemon for sweeping. I guess that's the problem, I tried using this one as an attacker since I liked the STAB combo, but it turns out it's pretty useless in that regard. Shame, not a lot of non-legendary offensive strong Fairy types in Gen 7.

Yeah, a good rule of thumb I use for Pokemon is that if their base attack/sp. attack is lower than 110, then they're probably not a good sweeper (with a few exceptions like having a good movepool or typing), but not being a good attacker doesn't make them useless.

My favorite thing to do in Showdown is to bring lower format pokemon in OU and surprise my opponent with them. People trying to sucker punch a Tsareena (Queenly Majesty) or getting their Gholdengo obliterated by a Scrappy Flamigo will never not be funny to me.

In part because a good bit of them are obsessed with Sonic donut-steal OC-tier self-inserts.
And many of the female ones on tumblr are yumeshippers on top of that. (meaning they ship themselves/their self inserts with the existing pokémon characters).

I remember seeing one who shipped her male self insert oc (because of course she was a pooner) with N from Black and White, saying they were "monogamous" and they didn't want to interact with people who shipped N with anyone else. She set up her blog like it was a couple's shared account and filled it with drawings that were meant to replicate pictures taken together.

What is your dream starter trio concept?

Unlike most, I don't mind the job-mascot mons, but I'd love for the next trio to represent aspects of the region, kinda like Hoenn's did and the body diversity that BW's had.

A grass giraffe that evolves into a Kirin is an idea that I've sat on for a while, A fire Bat, and a Water Elephant

No elemental starters, it's a shitty overdone concept. Give the player an Eevee they can turn into whatever they want or give them 2 random pre-selected generic Pokemon and have them figure it out. There is so many useless ones you would never capture outside of pokedex completion, have the player start out with them and have them earn even something as simple as a Rattata.

I have some job mascot mons I like, Hisui Decidueye for example (and the normal one, but I like the ronin design better because it fits LA better than a ranger fits Hawaii)

For starter trios, it'd similarly have to depend on the region. It doesn't have to suit the region in a big conceptual way, either. Someone pointed out to me how the Kanto starters are based on animals a kid could realistically find and pick up outside and that's why you get a frog, salamander, or turtle.

Oh, so you want this game then?

Fire snake

Grass bear

Water...some kind of Kelpie would be cool. Water/ghost type. First stage would be some cute water pony and last stage would be a badass ghost horse thing

New trio types.
Like a steel-rock-fire trio, poison-ground-grass trio or psychic-dark-fighting.

Charmander is a dragon, bro. One of these is not like the other, altho every kid would pick a dragon if they had a choice.
Salamanders were associated with fire because occasionally you'd throw some old wood on a fire and a salamander, not wanting to burn to death, would freak the fuck out and run out of the fire.

Also, you're discounting how cool a giant turtle battleship is. Plus water beats fire so it makes sense to pick Blastoise to one up the retards picking Charizard like its going to save them.

TPCi released another round of spectator passes for Worlds 2025 earlier today and I helped a few of friends get passes. They'll be joining me for shenanigans on Saturday.

I've built a few decks for side events but a friend of mine (separate from the group that going to Worlds) advised me to build a few Gym Leader Challenge format decks as well since larger events like Worlds tend to run them as side events. I've found a few decks that tickle my fancy (the three types I'll be building decks for are Fighting, Dragon, and Psychic) but it's going to be a bit difficult since I don't have a lot of BLW-CEC cards when it comes to bulk.

For those who want to have a peek at the rules GLC has in place, here they are.
Oh, and they're distributing the Shiny Wo-Chien (alongside a gift containing 100 Grass Tera Shard, 100 Bug Tera Shard, 100 Poison Tera Shard and 100 Fairy Tera Shards) via Mystery Gift now. Apparently 6,078,885 people completed the Wo-Chien Tera Raid.
it's like a more extreme version on how Mimikyu was used in recent years (prevents damage from any EX or V pokemon).
Don't forget that Rule Box-blocking Pokémon also occasionally have to Pokémon Ability-bypassing attacks like Shred and attacks/Abilities that place damage counters as an effect rather than dealing proper damage.
