It took me:
*Several hours
*15 max repels
*Almost 200 total balls thrown
Just to catch one Deoxys, and when I did I was out on everything but Nest Balls. Gross, it doesn't fit it at all. On top of that, it was of a Careful nature, not ideal for a glass canon. I'm seeing that even tho you can technically catch as many legendary Pokemon as you want in this romhack, each one is still a massive undertaking, only being made worse by RNG. Might be fun to come back later and spend a day catching as many of a certain legendary as I can, for now I am just focusing on at least 1 of each before I move on.
Catching pokemon for me is an autistic thing. I hate it to be honest. (I really hate the first gen hat forces you to catch 60 to use good items in a playthrough).

Why catch 400 pokemon, when I will use just about 6? I am currently playing Unbound and I have a rooster of 13 pokemon that I cycle depending of the battles since it is actually quite hard to win the challenge ones.

Now one thing I hate about megas is how I have to actually find a megastone. If we can only use one mega per tram why not make a generic one so we can cycle through our team? I went and fought every single character in route 14 to be able to challenge Ocean Master, thinking: oh he will give me the Sharpedo mega stone, only for him to give me Gyarados.

Fucking shit.

Also unbound puzzles are fucking hard as fuck, why tho?

Wait, it gets worse: I just fired up the game and it turns out it took me 35 repels to finally encounter the one I caught, not 15. That was my last attempt, where I ran out of all my balls and just reset the game. Now I have to restock on Max Repels.
Catching all these legendaries isn't cheap, I will say that.

It matters if you're trading them to other games or building a collection, say a 15+ year old collection spanning several generations. Some pokemon like the legendary ones cannot be bred either, so if you want one with a good nature or IVs, you have to manually catch one.

>RIP Flygon
feels bad man
lol, here I am actually somewhat glad about it because a mega would make it even more indistinguishable from Garchomp

I'd much prefer a regional variant that makes Flygon into a special attacker. I truly think that's the best way forward and would help Flygon stand out way more than it currently does.

Reminds me that my brother swears to this day his Golbat on his original Blue version save file hated him. He had left it in the daycare for like half a year or so, and when he got it back sometime after beating the Elite Four (it wasn't at level 100), it was permanently disobeying him to the point it would just mostly hurt itself in battle. One such incident had it get in the way of its own Hyper Beam and faint (and apparently that was the actual text used), which his twin witnessed that happening and swears by it as well.
In gen 1 it's hard to say if it's a bug, mandela effect or good old trust me bro.
The get in the way stuff is far fetched but some things might occur.
As a kid playing pokémon red, suddenly in battle the foes oddish had a HP bar that made up the full width of the screen.
He didn't go down in multiple hits.
The move animations were normal but the text was weird glitched fragments and it said ROCK TUNNEL at one point for whatever reason.
It was this way for a few minutes until it finally fainted and everything returned to normal.
It's okay if you think I'm making things up for updoots. To be fair I wouldn't believe it if somebody was telling me, but that stuck to me.
It never occured again and nobody could tell me what it was, not even the Action Replay cracks.

I believe you, because the HP bar thing is exactly what I saw when I tried to do MissingNo-only E4 runs. The ROCK TUNNEL, and glitchy text also matches MissingNo-related problems.

One time, during one of those E4 runs, Bruno's Machamp had a sprite glitch that looked like Ho-Oh... And I went insane, because I thought I had "solved" one of the missingno sprites lmao

HP underflow.

https://youtu.be/SS3IidU4GI8?si=Qr2kqfTDjNikbxmY - you see it in effect here, go back a bit to see how it gets set up.

save might've had some corruption or oddity going on if you'd experimented with missingno or someone you traded with, possibly.

what sounds like in the golbats case is just "it hit itself in confusion" with the confusion stuff. mind was probably just convinced of the hyperbeam stuff because hyper beam had just been selected.

sounds like glitch city, might not be the actual rock tunnel but it pulled the byte date for the location tag, maybe. im wording this horribly lol

Bro has always been consistent about his Golbat story, his rage-filled bafflement every time he tells it makes it funnier.

Another "no one will ever believe you" story that I personally experienced was my first (maybe second save file because of a dumbass brother wanting to play it) playthrough of Silver. After releasing the Legendary Beasts, I left the Burned Tower and was walking through Ecruteak when suddenly, for a split second, one of the sprites

ran by on a rooftop and tree tile complete with the running soundeffect. I was blown away. Was in this area (red dots is the movement I saw the sprite go by).

No idea why that occured, and it never happened again even with repeated playthroughs (thanks, battery). Likely a really weird bug.

Yeah it was weird it was a new save file and happened at the route next to Bills house.
I didn't use Mew glitch.
My game might have been one of those cases where it's permanently glitched after you encounter Missingno for the first time.

Good old Pokémon games and their bugs.
It was insane when I first tried cloning Pokémon in gen 2 and failed.
Next time playing I got pokerus on my Chinchou. The exp it recieved from the next battle got corrupted and it instantly grew up to level 100 after the battle. 😄

Nonsense, what Flygon has over Garchomp is a defensive niche. Even in Gen 3, when it was actually used, it's purpose was to outlive the attacker among the endless sandstorms that Tyrannitar created by being immune to chip damage, all the while distinguishing itself by actually being able to deal damage(unlike other walls, for example Blissey or Claydol). Lean into that niche and you can easily make Flygon usable again. The fact that they didn't include a mega for it in ORAS because they were too lazy just goes to show how much of a wet fart the entirety of Gen 6 was.

Missingno is actually largely harmless, the only real damage it does is to your Hall of Fame data. Everything else is temporary and nothing can actually ruin your game. Now, Missingno in Yellow is another story, that one is much more unstable and unless you encounter it in unique circumstances(very technical details, requires you to troon out to even understand it) it will usually just crash your game unceremoniously.

Just make Flygon a fucking Bug type like it should be. Take away levitate too so it can something more interesting.

its not related to mew exclusively, its a missingno related bug (probably due to values not updating with the level change). looks like it leaked to that specific oddish - which granted makes me think of the mew thing if its that specific trainer - but since it works like the missingno underflow, im wondering if that specific oddish already had an error in its code basekit, which was then made worse or corrupted with the missingno.

not too sure if it would still be glitched after the internal battery dies/replaces or if its just permaglitched now though.

but to be fair a lot of this is what made it very interesting as a plot device in the creepypasta stuff too.

I always thought that was kind of weird. Because at the time, I've thought that was supposed to evolve into an weird bug/ground type instead of this weird antlion dragon
The design was great, but making Trapinch Bug/Ground and then trading out ground w/ Dragon upon evolving into Vibrava just makes more thematic sense. Plus having a powerhouse bug type that isn't fucking Heracross would have been nice.

Wait, I swear I remember that, too. I was at the top of the screen, and I saw one running. It might've been in Crystal, since they added more overworld encounters with suicune, but I remember that.

I also remember one time, when I was playing Blue with a friend, we saw a scientist in Cinnabar Island walk backwards.

That guy.
And my friend and I both looked at each other, because we both saw that. It's such a minor thing, but it still sticks out to me.

I miss these kinds of mysteries in games. Little things, that are, in all likelihood, just glitches.

That's wild, but yes, that sounds right for my position. The house was at the bottom of the screen.

I'm sure I've seen that guy moonwalk before as well, not sure if this was ever caught on camera. There's a couple of NPCs that'll apparently do weird stuff like that due to how they move in their contained spaces. Fun stuff.

@flygon it doesn't stand up against chad Garchomp. Even the BST similar kingdra outclasses it by far with better typing, ability and stat distribution. The only thing flygon has is it's ability. It's over for flygon.
Even the actual bug type dragonfly Yanmega is better.

Imagine being unable to hurt this while watching it slowly leech your team to death with it's unlimited PP.
