So pocketmons has DLC now? That sounds sucky.

(I "checked out" of 'mons vidya after Gen 6.)
Check last page for an "argument" about it
TL;DR is that they cut out the post game and sold it to people for the price of a second game(70$ for two packs, 35$ each). The DLCs are not shared between versions either, if you buy game A and DLC for it, you have to buy DLC for game B all over again. If you buy everything at full price, that is 140$ for two games, and then another 140$ for all 4 DLC packs(two per game). That is total of 280$ for a "complete experience" plus paid online subscription for GTS/Online Battles/Online Raids, plus HOME subscription(Switch Pokemon Bank), which is apparently considered superior by some people to just paying another 30-40$ for a third edition ala Emerald/Platinum(which ends up being the best game of that generation anyhow).

A new bootleg mobile game came out last week called Pocket Revo: Here We Go

Actual title is "MegaMon". Preview pics on the store don't show much for obvious reasons. Seems like Gen7 is the furthest this game goes. Uses music from ORAS. Obviously the animations are infintely better than the shit GameFreak spews out. 2D instead of 3D. They give you a shit-ton of items/currency and currently have a bunch of events going on including Dialga/Giratina pulls. Megas are also a thing in here, but I haven't gotten that far.

It seems every single no-name chink knockoff SOMEHOW has better animations and sometimes even higher quality models/textures than what Gamefreak and Creatures Inc. is capable of. Then you have Pokemon fans coping about it, that includes /vp/ jannies and even Joe Merrick(Owner of Serebii) himself.

Play! Pokémon opened up their "Interest List" for Worlds 2025 spectators today, it's basically a lottery drawing for multi-day ($99) and single-day ($39) tickets.

I added my name to the list for all possible tickets but you're only allowed to buy one (be it a single-day or multi-day ticket) and they're both non-refundable and nontransferable.

:wow: pocket monsters sure has gotten expensive now...
Always was honestly. Ever since Gen 3.

And if we are being honest, even in Gen 1-2. $60-80 for a full game experience was incredibly expensive. Gen 1 only got away witj it because everyone was playing. So you only needed one game because trading the exclusives was easy and everyone knew how to clone starters.

(this "style" screenshot is from a remake, by the way, of Pokémon Brown: the first game in the series that had nothing to do with these devs. It was entirely Koolboy's work, but the Prism team "revamped" it with new trainers and locations and graphics and such. It does look like a genuine improvement, but...)
The "A/B Style" shit is somehow even gayer than asking the player if they're a boy or a girl.

Why Gen 3? Anyway, at least up to Gen 6, I don't think it's lacking the "full game experience" to just play one version. Although I think the core vidya should've been like the first Mystery Dungeon vidya, where "version exclusive" 'mons could be obtained via passwords. Passwords that could then be spread all over the internet when it got big.

Why Gen 3?
Because getting all Pokemon required 3 Games, a Game Cube, 2 more games and the cables to make all the Trading work.

Even on release that was stupidly expensive.

Just to do Hoenn sure was the normal price but the Mania had died down so you couldn’t be sure someone would have the other version anymore.

It’s one reason why I like the Legends game so much. I like having Solo games where you can get everything and honestly think that is how they should do all ‘remakes’ or ‘region revisits’.

If it’s going to take about 10 years to go back to a Region the last thing anyone really wants honesty is needing at least two games again.

I wonder how many shoddily-drawn troon comics where some normal-looking boy is playing Pokemon and gets asked The Big Question and has his tranny awakening right there, on the spot.

"I...can choose?"

I agree that the style shit is trooncore, but has anyone here actually played the Rijon series and had opinions on it? :sighduck:

That's assuming the people (children) playing these games actually cared about catching them all post-Gen II and didn't just want to play a fun game with cute animals.

If you actually cared about having all Pokemon in a single game Gen 3 and 4 were actually the best for you because PMD offered that.

We are obviously talking about getting them all.

Because if you it does not matter that the newer games in total cost $140, at minimum. The children will just get the one.

Gen 3 games at least were worth the price, still some of the best games to this day. You don't need all of them mind you, just Emerald and one of FRLG then both the GC will give you pretty much everything. You forgot Pokemon Box BTW, which is Pokemon Bank before Pokemon Bank, it's a Gamecube disc that let you import your GBA game data so you could hold Pokemon directly on your memory card. You would get special eggs if you deposited certain amount of Pokemon, these would have unique moves you couldn't get otherwise, and you could also play your GBA games on the big screen like with the Gen 1/2 titles on the N64. Obviously today we have emulators, flashcarts and utilities like Trigger's PC so you don't need all the hassle to play Gen 3 games today, but at least there was payoff back then.

Wrong, kids don't buy Pokemon now. Trannies and soyboys do, kids are more likely to blow 140$ on Fortnite skins or superchats for their favorite streamer playing Fortnite than anything else.

The last time you could get every non-mythical pokemon within a single gen was gen 6. You could get all gens 1-6 pokemon between XY and ORAS. The friend safari is of course now offline but any pokemon you couldn't obtain in XY or it's friend safari is obtainable in ORAS, including all legendaries and starters. Now, that would have costed you a lot of money then, and even more money now, but it is still doable.

How is Friend Safari offline? Surely, if you still have friends on your 3DS registered, it should work passively, right?
Or does the system genuinely not work if you're not connected to their servers? Not that it matters, I already got all the Pokemon I wanted from that.

How is Friend Safari offline?
You can still use the friend safaris that are associated with any 3DS friend codes that you'd already registered before the 3DS servers went offline.
But I don't think that you can add any new friends now in order to get new safaris from them.

Also, since the third Pokémon in a friend safari only gets unlocked after that friend has become the Champion in their game, and since the servers which would track that are now down, nothing is updating that anymore. So any safari that you have which only has two Pokémon will be stuck on two forever.
