Same logic as when I talked about raising Pokemon for competitive play legit vs being a lazy bum and just genning them, in latter case you likely don't know the inner workings of the game enough to do well in competitive environment anyways so cheating doesn't matter as much.
forcing people to spin literal slots to compete is just pikajewish propaganda to keep people playing bad (neo mons) games and more so for current games, nor does it improve your metagame knowledge(knowing nieche moves on x mon doesnt count imo since you notice that by playing ppl)
they had to water the entire breeding machanic down with every entry because they know its convoluted mess and will just scare casuals
just imagine current vgc but with gen 4 breeding :zoomer_laughing_emoji:
casual breeding was really fun back in the day and it was great for flavour/atmosphere but its mega fucky to have every contender for a money tour spend ages on teams instead of just playing the game
Edit: Whoever is making these thumbnails, I want to punch them in the face

I can tell they're all some variation of a normalfag twitter/reddit meme, and that makes me hate it even more.
Protip: Throwing in le funny maymays at the viewer doesn't make your video better, it just makes me more likely to never watch it in the first place. Bonus for clickbait titles, as if anyone who is even vaguely into competitive Pokemon wouldn't know what they're talking about(and whoever isn't, why are they watching these in the first place?).
fsg has always been normieslop(their pkm vids at least) in presentation but around 2 or 3 years ago (not actually lookin it up) they seem to have gotton some guys to game the algo more and obnoxious thumbnails are just part of it alongside reworked vids that go on for hours and more intense shilling of the patreon
doesnt change the fact that im amused by the thought of kevin in a eternal hamsterweel having to write all these vids

Good, his old videos were shit and incomplete. Just compare his old Charizard video to his new one, in the old one he didn't even cover Gens 3 and 5(from what I remember).

Breeding a good Pokemon takes less than a day to do. You just have ADHD, how are you going to compete with giga-autists if this is what filters you out?

Looks like Berry Forest might be bugged and Jirachi being there is a mistake, as I'm also seeing Jirachi in Brink Cape on Two Island. I will have to manually open the romhack in an editor and check the encounter table to confirm, then fix if need be.
At least then the Berry Forest Jirachi will truly be one of the highlights of my Gen 3 collection, as there will never be another one like it.

Colors aside (which I like BTW), I still think LA looks better than GSC. The landscapes in GSC are more artificial looking with a lot of straighter edges and sharp corners, and the trees do not look as good. And interiors of buildings in GSC seem to have a more ridiculous scale because a lot of interior stuff are just one tile. And on the GBA, RSE and FRLG seem to have those same issues. Minish Cap looks better. But like I said, crappy graphics alone doesn't always make vidya suck (if it did all old vidya sucks).
I don't think Pokemon games looked extraordinarily shit compared to similar games until the main series jumped to home consoles, I even daresay Gens 4 and 5 are among the better-looking DS games (not a high bar with all the shovelware, but I digress...). That said, Game Freak have always been shit at optimization.

It's why they famously required Iwata's help to fit the Gen 2 games into a cartridge. It's why saving your progress took one million years until X and Y. It's why they had to remove triple and rotation battles in Gen 7. It's why the digital versions of the games are fucking massive in size. It's why SV get slower the longer you play them in one go. And it's why the Switch games look like ass.

When your game runs like shit and you can't or don't know how to optimize it, you lower its graphical quality until it stops running like shit. This wasn't a problem back then because the main Pokemon series ran on handhelds, so no one was expecting groundbreaking graphics, but now that the jump to home consoles has been made and the games look hilariously outdated, it's no longer as easy to ignore.

Then you have the GC games that look fine for the time(except for Gen 1-2 models, which were taken from the N64 games without any optimization) and that shows just how awful Gamefreak are when a 20 year old game from several console generations ago is giving them a run for their money.

Meanwhile those Mystery Dungeon vidya on 3DS and Switch -- which were developed along with 3rd party -- could handle a Monster House.
Alongside what @30+GameOvers said, the models were also too high-poly for the 3DS. There's no reason to have so much detail on a model that will be shown on such a small screen. The 3DS PMD games understood this and had much lower poly models.

Edit: Just as a visual example, here's the Ho-Oh model from PSMD (left) compared to the model from XY (right). It's night and day:
Ho-Oh Comparison.png
Is it much less detailed and kinda ugly? Yes, but that's a necessary evil when you're working with less powerful systems. It's why PMD can have several Pokemon on screen while the main games struggle to render more than 4.

The models for Pokemon are super high res for 3DS, which is retarded. They were supposed to be "timeless" ie Gamefreak planned to use these models for generations down the line, but when Sword/Shield was coming out for the Switch, the excuse given for lack of Pokemon was because they were touching up the models of the ones that got in. Timeless my ass, that was the reason why they were so high res on the 3DS too. They should have looked a bit rougher, at least then we would keep triple battles and have them play at a decent frame rate too.
Well, add to that the general lack of optimization and you get the 3DS titles. Outside battles is even worse, the draw distance is so low that you can see the NPCs and models popup as you walk, the big city at the start of Sun and Moon is a perfect example as the camera angle is placed in a bad spot that doesn't hide it. You will see NPCs spawning and despawning before your eyes every time you cross a street there.

Name pkmn youtubers you stopped watching bc woke bs and also name the crime they did.

namecrime
Weedletwinneedlegay agenda, whining about queerphobia affects his m3nt4l hEaLtH, repeatedly posting furbait of daddy inceneroar
FlygonHGhaving a troon guest star calling him ma'am all the time, giving gifts to his cheating gf Diana even when it's not her birthday
Pimanruleseusine is trans pride character cuz he has no assigned gender in the games code

ClaudePlaysPokemon is an AI-controlled Twitch run of one of the Gen I Pokémon games. It's painfully slow as the trained-to-play Pokémon AI struggles through battles (and still makes lots of mistakes). Somehow the game got reset yesterday or today because the AI somehow convinced itself that it had met Bill and was stuck in Cerulean City for 48 hours.

does ai call his pokeymen nggrFGGT and stuff?

So in Super Mystery Dungeon, recruiting 'mons does not work like it does in Red Rescue Team, and it uses this "connection" thing where only 1 of each 'mon can be recruited?

AI more retarded than Twitch Plays Pokemon and will ultimately be far less memorable.

Anyone care to recommend me some romhacks/fan games? I've played most of the popular ones but have not pay attention to any recent entries besides Unbound, even then that was a while ago.

Part of what made TPP memorable was how everything was always moving. Trying to see how AI parses every single action makes things too slow. Just now it caught a Lv3 Jigglypuff on Route 3, decided to name it "Puff", and after thinking for five minutes after switching to lowercase, inputted the other letters.

I do not like the fact it uses Gen II graphics for Red.

You've probably played them already but clover is a good rom hack, and pokemon insurgence is a good fangame with some cool delta forms
