The original game does call them GOLD TEETH, but yeah it's weird to have an entire set made out of gold.
Why is that weird? There is nuggets of gold everywhere in this universe. You could easily mint some dentures made out of them, just pay some 10 year old 5000 poke-yen for one.

Now you mention it, it is funny how iron and calcium are almost as valuable as gold in the Pokémon universe. It makes me wonder if there are any commonplace materials that are super rare and valuable in the Poké-verse.

Anyone currently hunting any shiny pokémon? I'm currently soft resetting for a Torchic in Ruby.

If you know, you know.

Some more Gen 1&2 HD art
Holy shit, I've been meaning to do some watercolor tests to try and replicate the Sugimori look, and the Prof Oak, and Gary art gave me a big clue.

The darker parts around the light look like something was dripped on to the paint, instead of being purposefully kept dry. It's more evident on Oak's leg, with even a second drop being visible, likely a mistake. So, Sugimori must've used something like alcohol, on top of his watercolor, to achieve that stark look!

I can't wait to test this later.

It's also interesting that Kris is done in traditional watercolors, when the trainers are mostly digital. Sure the gym leaders are traditional, too, but, if Kris came later, wouldn't she also be digital, like the GS Ball?

As someone who tried making it work for years, I can confirm that this is probably the shittiest Gen 2 Pokemon and one of the worst Pokemon overall. It does nothing in competitive and it does nothing even in the story mode. Wasted concept, should have made it a bug/fighting and amped it's physical attack so at the very least it would have a niche.

That high SpD is a trap, it doesn't matter with it's paper thin Physical Defense. What's one of the most common moves in competitive? Oh that's right, Rock Slide. Even if it could act as a special wall against some unprepared Pokemon that doesn't have an ice/electric/fire move, it can't do anything. At all, unless you count setting up screens as offense.
What a waste, if anything needs a mega, an evolution or a regional variant it's this poor thing.

So the mediocre design for Mega Jynx was scrapped for the dumbest of reasons, and so were many many other changes. The changes to gen 7 and the new evolutions were genuinely interesting to see, I wonder why they scrapped them.

WTF? They made her purple ages ago. They could have made her skin more like Smoochum's or made the lips slightly smaller or a different shape. Seems like a silly reason to jettison the whole mega when they could just edit it.

Can the Vatican really sue Game Freak because some haunted keys look too much like a symbol they use?

What's up with the Ash pics? It looks like his slow decent into cancer or anorexia.

Man one of the greatest leaks is the explanation for the names of each pokemon, this changes everything.

Shaymin having the origin in xiexie (chinese for thank you) was something that I didn't expect

Wacthing this video made me think: is there ant reason why they never adapted Special to anime? It isn't like Ash is there right bow and they could do an anniversary bit, even adapting just one or two arcs instead of all volumes.

Gamefreak got some weird ideas of how they justify their censorship
Sucks how much influence the "politically correct" -- and later SJWs -- of the West have gotten over pocketmons.

Like at least one episode of the old anime was banned, because of some "cultural critic" complaining about Jynx.

This isn't an old phenomenon, even an episode of SM got banned for the same reason: Ash dressed as an ape, and this was apparently not culturally appropriate for the West, so that episode never came over here. It's clear that most devs working on Pokemon games checked out and are just going there for a paycheck, they either can't get an authorization to do something cool they want to do, even if it will they will censor it anyways, and even if the stars align then there is no time to make it work. All you can do is the bare minimal and fill it to poz without complaining about it.
