Got a drayano hack redux in portuguese because this specific version wasn't made in english I guess.
Wait; what do you mean 'Redux'?
*searches*
That has to be an unofficial version of Blaze Black/Volt White 1. While I know that feeling about wanting a redux version of the original version when the sequel got a redux, I strongly recommend that you immediately sto playing and start over wi the official Blaze Black or Volt White, since struggling with a language that you do not know is going to spoil your impression, especially since a big part of the fun of Gen 5 is the story.
Disclaimer: I do not know Portuguese, but Spanish, which is very close.

Edit of proof: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonROM...e_black_2_and_volt_white_2_redux_has/i2bh7sk/

I know portuguese so it isn't a problem, and they decided just to translate the story and not the moves and itens, so the most important is intact for me.

I actually want to play the game to be able to experience the pokemon special manga better since I stopped at black and White and I want to go back.

Man I read this post about the redux of black 2 and it has everything that I want, but according to the makers of redux 1 there are some limitations that couldn't be made.

>Attempting to fish in a body of water should no longer fail. Instead, the player should be guaranteed an encounter with each cast of the rod!

I want this so bad, since I play on Speed up mode, fishing is really hard. I just can't stand official pokemon velocity and play a 300%-400% speed up version most of the time

Just finished Clay. This is my current team.

Lost my first battle then trained them all to lvl 50 expecting them to outspeed the level 45 excadrill who had move counters to all my lads. And nothing worked, no matter the combination, I only had a Swanna left and he had excadrill on the field and a full hp nidoking.

Then it happend, he missed the rock slide and my swanna hit it with scald, killing him. His hippodown fucked my whole team with stone edge.

Damn this hack isn't easy at all, I only managed to beat just Elesia clean so far. I lost at least once for everyone else. Not wanting to use other gens mons doesn't help (I tried fishing but there is just no good choice), so I sticked up with KINGLER (HE HAS THE HIGHEST ATTACK TOO AT 160).

still pissed at that fucking excadrill, how it could outspeed the zebrstrike

I always found it odd that so many people consider generation 2 to be the quintessential pokemon games when there were barely any good pokemon that were introduced.
I've noticed an extremely reliable correlation between what generation is someone's favorite and which generation was the first one they remember playing through all the way. Gold & SIlver came out in 2000 in the USA and HGSS in 2009, which makes a fairly large chunk of the current online Pokemon fanbase the right ages to have Gen 2 and its remakes be their first "real" games.

They're also fairly milquetoast entries in that they don't really innovate, but also don't have any of the Gen 1 jank with a substantial postgame, so I think it's not unreasonable to see them as the "standard" for Pokemon games.

I was there when Pokemon exploded in Gen 1 and this is correct. Both for the generational aspect but also that Gen 2 managed that perfect sequel status of "the same, but more stuff and/or fine-tuned."

It helps that Gen 2 is essentially in many ways more like Gen 1, Part 2 - leftovers that didn't quite make the original games' cut - alongside being overseen by Tajiri himself before ceding overall control to Masuda. Gen 3 really should be the true Gen 2 onward with how much things began to change in everything from gimmicks to graphics.

I always wondered how it'd be to have a what-if where nearly all cut Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon made it into those games alongside the actual ones, and a lot of the original gameplay or locales as well, but that's it and there's no Gen 3 onward. Probably a lot better for Pokemon's "soul" the more I think on it.

Yeah, I think Gen 2 really hits that sweet spot between being a sequel and kind of just being Gen 1 but extra. Honestly I think that's also why HGSS are so beloved -- they literally just have so much stuff in them, but since they're also a part of Gen 4 they don't have any real gimmicks (unless you count the physical/special split). Add in some small things here and there like overworld pokemon following and you kind of have the perfect recipe for the least offensive set of games physically possible.

I think a world with only Gens 1&2 would distil the soul of the series, but honestly I really enjoy a lot of the regions that have come after even if they're not all hits. I think the entire series up until Gen 5 is really, really solid.

I feel you, I definitely love a lot of post-Tajiri mons, locales, regions, etc. Especially stuff that can easily be retrofitted into the Gen 1-2 style (though everything can when you think on it...).

I notice there's a lot of people that have their cutoff of "the last good gen" as 4/Sinnoh/HGSS, and others as 5/BW/BW2. I wonder what the reason is, since I never got to try 5.

5 is really solid and a lot more popular these days, but on release it was really controversial for the completely new regional dex (everything non-unovan was locked to the national dex), new features like infinite TMs, and the heavier handed plot. I think a lot of people also just think the unovan designs are retarded, but tbh I've never really understood the argument since a sentient ice cream cone really isn't that much worse than a sentient rock or a pokemon whose entire design is 'it's named snake but backwards.'

It's also the last 2D title, though, and imo is probably the best generation in the series if we're strictly speaking of objective quality.

The thing with Gen 2 was that almost all of the cool gen 2 mons were in Kanto. Good fucking luck if you want to use Houndour since it's only in the patch of grass between Celadon and Saffron.

Gen 5 was a game that got better with time even if the intense backlash from the unova Dex fucked the series in the long run. It also really didn't help that you went from Gen 4 having good to incredible starters to Gen 5 where the starters are all fairly droppable. You either have the fast defensive grass type (and there's no contrary until fucking ORAS) that does fucking nothing, the mixed attacker water type that's too slow to outspeed much and too weak to secure kills or the "''bulky""' Fire/Fighting type that ruined the type combo for players with physical moves all packed with drawbacks.

A generation's first impression is all based on its starters. Gen 5 fucked up HARD there.

My first game was Ruby and I Love gen 3 specially Hoenn the most of all the main gens.

But even back in 2008 when I first played Diamond for the first time for over 100 hours I recognized that it was a better game. The split allowed so many pokémon to be useful in gameplay that was almost scary, I remember using a gyarados for the first time in diamond and was astonished at how good it was, since in gen 3 it was really inconsistent with the water/special attack thing.

And holy shit, I fucking loved the underground, even the most common complaints of slowdown didn't tarnish my experience since I always played pokemon games speed up (I just played once in the normal speed, a crystal game in an old Symbian phone, fucking hell).

And there are features from new games that improves the game so much and I've grown to love how hackers manage to import these features into gen 3 games like reutilizable TMs and removal of HM moves for movement. I always carried a zigzagoon/linoone/tropius in my emerald gameplay and had to juggle my team spot. (Curiously my first game this wasnt a problem, because I just used Sceptile and by the time we were in E4, he was lvl 80. It took me many plays to learn how to create a team since the game could be beaten if you train 2 or 3 pokes only.

Even back then I never had a problem with Gen 5 designs, I love object pokemon and Vanillite was always cool for me. The starters I actually like more than gen 2 (I only like totodile), forcing myself to play with meganium in those gen 2 shitty movesets didn't help it

I'm biased since Gen4 was my first mainline games (though I'd played a lot of spinoffs before then), but I think you can tell just how good Gen 4 is as a baseline by the fact that even the remakes are alright despite being absolutely turbofucked from front to back. Sinnoh is just a really solid region and the only thing holding it back is that it plays slow because of the weird way it handles framerate.

I think my dreamhack is just Platinum but remade in the B/W engine tbh, that'd be kino.

Gen 2 had Typhlosion getting the elemental punches which was way nicer than feraligatr imo. Well, until you realized Kadabra just uses all the elements and Psychic to clean house which you could get as soon as you got to goldenrod.
But that early evolution helped so much, my feraligatr was mostly using crunch/bite/strenght/surf and still demolished the game. And it had early the mareep line that would complete the team.

Johto levels sucks ass man, with these two you can destroy the game

The Dynamax system in GO is so ass. You put all this work into making a new raid system (the original is still a mindless tap session), put spots FUCKING EVERYWHERE, but I can only collect 800 particles a day... when powering up moves costs 400-700 and doing a single raid costs 250. You literally force me between choosing to power up a singular move on a Pokemon or being able to do a whopping 3 raids a day... when power spots again, ARE FUCKING EVERYWHERE.

One step forward, 27 back. Typical Niantic. Daily limits in games are fucking bullshit as it is, and this limit in particular makes no fucking sense. Everyone knows Niantic makes their real money from selling fucking data... So why in the ever loving fuck are you putting in a system to get me to give you more data, but disallowing me from using said system for more than 5 minutes a day? It makes no fucking sense.

The environment that allowed those rumors no longer exists.

>”you can find mew by using strength on the truck after completing the pokedex and catching five of every pokemon, I would show you myself but my older bro deleted my save”
<”wow I better start catching!”

>“you can find mew by using strength on the-“
<“yeah I just found a youtube video where some guy datamined the entire game and reverse engineered the code five hours after its release and that truck doesn’t have any intractable elements so you’re wrong”

But why a random truck?

I only ever play as the male “model” because I do not respect Brendan as a rival. Canonically he chooses Treecko, the second in a series of loud, wet shits that make up the lineage of Grass starters all the way up until Contrary Serperior and Grassy Surge Rillaboom. He chooses it over Mudkip and Torchic, which is like choosing Jake Paul over Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali. He is a moron and a sandal-licker and I will not suffer him when May is right there.
Turtwig is the best sinnoh starter.
The best nuzlocker in the world told me so.

If there's a potato pocketmon, such a 'mon could be Ground and Grass. Or Fighting or Grass in the TCG.

🥔

Pokemon clover says pure ground

I made up an evolution line of potato pokemon years ago. The idea was they develop psychic powers when they sprout.
As the sprouts grow bigger, their psychic abilities get stronger.

Maybe poison point or poison touch ability.

G&S is in an odd inbetween area for me (played them all since launch, other than when I dropped off in the DS era) - like you guys say, it's Gen 1+, but it also feels a bit too unfinished, mechanics wise, versus Gen 3 with weather, abilities etc (G&S got half way here with held items, but many really sucked), and doesn't have the same simple charm (sans nostalgia) Gen 1 has for me. Its still pretty good but its probably one of my least faves today. Some of the catching locations are awful too, lots of cool mons locked to post game.

You thinking of this story? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...eadly-gas-caused-rotting-potatoes-cellar.html

Think poison type would work better. You could make it look a bit gnarly/rotten through the evo too

is overrated, change my mind.
The region, the trumpets, the physical special split that made all the cool new ghost and dark types borderline unplayable even for vanilla playthroughs, ugly starters (except for Swampert), overhyped mediocre designs (swellow, coomerbait gardevoir, flygon), tentacool and wingull being the only encounters for half of the game, too many ugly trashmons, forgettable characters, too friendly rival, evil teams are more dumb and silly than Gen 2 team rocket and grunts only use 3-4 different pokémon, first stage forms only.

The redeeming qualities are that it has some really good designs like cacturne and dusclops, challenging gym leader fights, puzzles I struggled with as a kid, the indroduction of the battle frontier and, of course, abilities.

I was fantasizing about the sprouts being antennas to channel psychic powers.
I agree, poison would be more fitting ngl
