That fucking Wimpod still won't come back no matter what I do. I think I may have a minor bug or something. Fuck, maybe I can get one on the GTS.

Anyway, here are some neat tips I've come across. I'll add more later if I find them.
  • In Poke Pelago, you can gather Poke Beans by dragging your stylus across the screen instead of clicking on them individually. Not only is this a faster way of gathering them, you also don't have to deal with accidentally clicking on a Pokemon when you're just trying to pick a Bean up.
  • Riding on Taurus (and possibly other Ride Pokemon; I'm not sure though) significantly decreases the time it takes to hatch an egg.
  • You can access the Pokedex by tapping between Rotom's eyes on the bottom screen.
  • As I mentioned before in the thread, you can earn 20,000 dollars every day by going to Hano Beach, talking to the hotel employee, and agreeing to get six Pyukumuku off the beach.
  • With the Island Scan function, you can get a rare Pokemon every day. You just need to scan 10 QR codes and after that you can use Island Scan. The Pokemon available differ by day and by island.
  • If you want to see a Pokemon's EV's, go to its summary and then press Y.

The young trial captains are all students in the same school Ash goes. In the anime, he isn't trying to be a champion, so they're not his travel companions or anything.

It sounds like you might be getting some sort of glitch, yeah. If the GTS doesn't work out I could easily breed you one if you'd really like it.

EDIT:

After digging a little bit on the internet, it actually seems like Wimpod isn't guaranteed to respawn every time you enter and exit. There's no specified percentage, but some people are saying there's only a 10% chance of it respawning. Others say if you fly off the island and then fly back, it'll respawn immediately.

It's like a saturday morning cartoon, Ash is just having fun and chillin with friends, and Skull team are joke villains all the way (Aether probably wont appear here). Alola has no gyms or even a champion so it's kinda pointless for him to travel or achieve anything. The change is debatable but IMO they should've made a new protagonist for this, it's a completely different setup from the old seasons.

The structure is different but the trials and kahunas can take the place of gyms and shit.
And I dunno, Ash and Pikachu are part of the brand. They would never separate them from the main series.
Whatevs though as long as he gets to pound the grass girl and shit.

I'm such an asshole, I got a Necrozma that was most likely set up to use the GTS cloning glitch, since it asked for a level 91+ litten and via digging around I got one in time to trade for it, And it even had a good nature(Timid) to boot.
 
Anyone need any Abra with a specific nature? I'm breeding them for their Synchronize ability since it'll really cut down on the amount of resets I'll need to get Ultra Beasts with the right nature.

I need some, Primarily Adamant, I'd be willing to trade you any moon exclusives if you have sun or some of the more rare Pokemon in the games(Mareanie, Dhelmise, Honedge, Chikorita, Marill)

They can even have Inner Focus if they end up with it, I have Ability Capsules I got specifically for Abras.

has anyone managed to catch a mimikyu with decent iv's? all the ones i've picked up have had iv's as absymal as its encounter rate.

Catching a wild, breedable Pokemon with good IVs is highly unlikely. Breeding with a high IV Male in the same Egg Group or Ditto holding Destiny Knot(Or just Ditto in the Mimikyu is Male) is the quickest way. @Bugaboo has been breeding 6 IV Mimikyu, maybe you can ask her for one

ahhh, thanks for the info! I'll use a ditto and breed one! i just play for dex completion, shiny hunting, and battling friends so i don't need perfection, but, man, every mimikyu I've caught has had beyond terrible iv's and aren't worth using.
 
I'm still fairly early on, but is it just me or are meowths way more dangerous than they aught to be?
 
Some fun nature facts:

There are 25 Natures in Pokemon. Among them, 7 of them are Useless Competitively.

The five that grant no bonuses by raising and lowering the same stat simultaneously:
-Hardy(Raises and Lowers Attack)
-Docile(Raises and Lowers Defense)
-Serious(Raises and Lowers Speed)
-Bashful(Raises and Lowers Special Attack)
-Quirky(Raises and Lowers Special Defense)

Addtionally, the two natures that raise one defense and lower the other are considered even worse, as no defensive Pokemon would want to boost one defense at the cost of the other:
-Lax (Raises Defense, Lowers Special Defense)
-Gentle (Raises Special Defense, Lowers Defense)

The remaining 18 natures have all found uses over the years.
So for people like myself hunting Synchronize Abra, 7/25 Natures are complete junk

The ones with Technician and not Pickup are, at least. Technician increases the power of moves that are 60 power or less by 50%. Additionally if a Pokemon uses a move that matches its typing, it gets a 50% bonus to damage as well.

Alolan Meowth has Bite(Which is base 60 Power) from the get-go, and is Dark Type, so the attack is effectively a 135 Power move, which is insane for that point of the game. On top of that Bite has a 30% chance to flinch the opponent if they move after the user, and Meowth's highest stat is speed, so it will go before a lot of stuff.

I've abstained from playing Sun and Moon because I'm trying to focus on my upcoming finals
because Lord knows I'm gonna go full sped and lock myself up for 3 days playing Sun and Moon when I get my dirty little hands on them

On a side note the only pokemon playing I've been able to do is soft reset for good Arceus variants on my 6th gen games.

Would like some Moon exclusives, but it's fine either way; I'll pretty much take anything. Let me know when you're ready to trade.
 
I've been playing Pokemon for 20 years and still haven't understood how to get a competitive team going. There's so much information I don't even know where to start. Do you guys have any idea where I should start looking to breed and level up shit for a good team?
