I plan on getting way back into it come Friday; I've pre-ordered both, one for me and for my gf so versions exclusives are not a problem. I'll probably be doing something fun like spamming exclusives off on wonder trade for the first few days.

not liking the nerfs I'm hearing for talonflame and I'm having trouble adjusting to how bright this gen's palette is too but I'll live.

Finished Pokemon Moon a few days ago. It's got some flaws but it's definitely better than Gen 6, gameplay and story-wise. The game's surprisingly story-heavy for a Pokemon game, which might be good for some, bad for others. Minior's the best Gen 7 mon and I named my Oranguru after a dead gorilla.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and you can wear a Team Skull tank top.

Ultra Beast glutton is cool as balls I want 10

Also, story heavy sounds good. I enjoyed gen 5's story a lot and I don't even remember gen 6's story or characters so it'd be nice to have a good story and characters I remember for more than 10 minutes

How are you playing it when it isn't out yet? :'(
It got leaked last week. People playing it either got advanced copies, or are pirating a rip of it.

I'm actually kinda digging the story-heavy approach. Grabbed my attention a lot better than XY did, and I never sat down and got into Black and White.

That's a shame, personally, I think B&W have the best story of the pokemon games. The really neat thing is the gym leaders have lives outside the gyms, you help them out, and they all know each other. It's also cool that the overall story is sort of meta on the whole concept of pokemon. Gameplay and pokes' are good as well. While I did like the game, X&Y just didn't stick with me much, I'm hoping Sun & Moon proves to be more memorable.

B&W is probably my favorite outside of Silver/Gold...though I still have a super soft spot for Yellow as well...

Poke'mon submitted another trailer for Sun and Moon, more than likely the actual last one now since the games come out in four days;

https://youtube.com/watch?v=xguGMeEWhhs
It covers:
  • Starter final evolution Z-Moves
  • Alolan Diglette and Dugtrio
  • Two new Ultra Beasts; UB-03 Lighting and UB-05 Glutton
Aah, Primarina's Z move almost makes me want to choose her. I pretty much discarded her on my last post here. I'm so conflicted now ;_;

Still can't wait! Just three more days

I'm hoping the framerate issue gets fixed up before the release dates. It's not anywhere near as bad as ORAS was (at least for me) so hopefully they can work out a way to keep the framrate from dropping too badly.

I noticed post-trial portion of the demo, talking to certain people results in them saying you should come back in a certain amount of days to talk to them again. I have one who wants me to come back in 5, another in 15, and another in 24. I've already gotten a Star Piece and Gold Nugget that I can transfer to the games once they're released, so I'm thinking attending these events will reward me with more gifts I can shift over to my game.
Do you knownif the framerate issues are hardware related? I have one of the new 3ds xls.
The small amount of new Pokemon in Gen 6 helped clinch it for me that I would not be getting XY.

Disappointing that its happened again, but I don't care.

Because this sweet baby exists. :heart-full:
You just want to give him/her a hug.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of good about Gen 5- I just had a pretty nasty case of burnout on the gameplay when they first came out, so I never played past the first gym. Definitely going to play through my copy of Black at some point, though.

So far I haven't noticed much of any framerate drop, but I've only played up to the first trial so far.

From reviews I've read/watched it appears to be a hardware issue. When played on older 3DS models there are significant framerate/slow down issues during double battles and trial battles, but when played on newer models those types of battles run much smoother. I'm not sure how new the 3DS needs to be, though.

I have an older model (5 years old) and the trial battle in the demo was pretty rough. If double battles take up a good chunk of gameplay I'm going to be hunting for a new 3DS come Black Friday.

I don't think I really need to say this, but if you have a pirated copy of S/M, don't go online with it and turn off wifi to be sure. You'll very likely get an online ban. As far as I'm aware it's either a console ban or a two week NNID ban.

EDIT: It's a permaban that can't be circumvented through CFW. You get one of those you'll need to buy another 3DS.

I really don't know what people were expecting by going online for a game that isn't even officially released yet.

Something about how the ease of access to the internet in modern times causes people to forget basic anonymity protection rules. They wanted to be cool and show off their 10 days early game, so they jump on wondertrade instead of being sneaky and waiting until after the games are out. Serves them right tbh.

In unrelated news, Dewpider and Araquanid were found out to be a lot stronger than previously thought(their stat spreads are shit). Their signature ability, Water Bubble, not only prevents burn and halves fire damage like the ingame text for it mentions, it also doubles the power of their Water type moves. This helps with their meh Attack stat(special attack is still unsalvageable), but only when using Water moves. Also they get Entrainment, so they can give their allies this crazy powerful ability in double battles.

Dewpider could combo well with Oranguru and Instruct in doubles. Two double damage water attacks could really ruin someone's day.

I'm not into the whole hip hop/gangster theme Team Skull's got but Guzma's battle music is pretty catchy, not gonna lie.

I had some massive framerate issues when I fought the Totem boss in the demo, right when he summoned a Rockruff, it seriously went single-digits.
I'd be pretty tempted to pick up a *new* 3ds for monster hunter and pokemon, but it'd mean moving on from my beloved Pikachu 3ds xl(:_(

Christ, Nintendo doesn't fuck around at all!

Actually it can be bypassed by getting a new NNID on the system, though you lose access to any eshop games you bought with your previous one. My cfw 2ds only has some freeware stuff, so if I hypothetically did that I wouldn't lose anything since my main system(My New 3DS XL) has all of that stuff. Basically I leave all of the sketchy stuff to a completely expendable 2DS.
