As someone who's been in that situation, I can understand entirely. These people sap the fun and creativity out of anything they infest. They're a plague. If you do something that gains a decent fanbase, never, EVER create a place where fans can interact with you directly. It will make you hate them and your work.

Agree with this. If you're THAT concerned about not making an addictive product then you shouldn't be making videogames. Was adding the gacha stuff his idea? If so then that destroys his excuse. We got some more events and Scarlet/Violet codes coming the next few weeks.

You can obtain a Gyarados based off of the one used by the champion of last year's Singapore Championships. the code is GYARAD0S2023SG and it's redeemable until June 30th.

You can obtain a Quaxly based off of the one Dot (the purple-haired girl that has a persona based around a Nidorina-themed fursuit she uses for streaming) has in Pokémon Horizons. The code is D0T1STPARTNER and it's redeemable until November 30th.

A Talonflame based off of the one used in last year's Japan Championships will be distributed next month, the code will be revealed between June 1st and 2nd.

A Porygon2 based off of the one used by Nils Dunlop at this year's EUIC will be distributed at this year's NAIC, the code will be revealed during the event's stream between June 7th and 10th.

The next Tera Raid events have been revealed, Sandy Shocks and Iron Thorns will appear in 5-Star raids between May 24th and 26th.

A code for a free TCG Live copy of Teal Mask Ogerpon ex (Secret Illustration Rare) will also be given out during the NAIC stream as well.

In addition to all of the above, the Pokémon Center's online store will be expanding to Australia. A soft launch is set for later this year and an official release soon after.

Are we ever gonna get Shiny Legendaries? Sick of all the gifts that's just a member of someone's real world team and stuff from the anime.

I'll admit I couldn't read the original twitter message in it's entirety because the user here posted a really blurry version and only archived the response about it being muted. I just went off the summary and that combined with what Campbell's Chin was saying, so after reading a version that doesn't fuck with my eyes:



Still don't buy it. Worked on it as a solo project for 9 months, paying money out of pocket for assets, project gets a ton of attention and suddenly now it's too much for him even though he has help? Even if it's something as simple as "I'm tired of working on this, it's now in the hands of the other devs", saying that it's taking too much time out of your day to keep up with maintenance is something that can be remedied. No way that's the full picture.
And I still don't blame him for backing out on it due to outside pressure from fans (especially trannies but TBH it doesn't even matter who they are if they're that crazy about it). Keeping up with that would require him to make the game his top priority, and if he's already got a job and a life then that's a tall order. Toby Fox did a very smart thing by keeping himself private as much as he could after he released his game.

Their lamestream pokemon games always do better. Both Swsh and SV made great sales numbers despite being how they are.

Now, sales are impressive, but how's that player retention? Nintendo will never release the player count numbers so you can only really speculate, but I'd imagine it dropped hard.

Like it never happened, this is pretty much exclusively a discord issue for now as most outside of it don't care.

I mean the dev is just a cuck if he truly believes what he believes he should just have stand his ground and said he didn't wanted Troons or troon sympathizer in his community. Thought I was the only one, whenever I mention this even in rather good discords I'm called crazy. Honestly I can hardly remember most of the Pokemon themes after XY except single ones. Meanwhile I'm listening to whole playlists of the old games' ost. Remixes and recreations too. There's some good ones, like Rose's theme (like fuck me that's really good), Scarlet/Violet's final boss theme...and that's it really. And I guess Lysandre since I mentioned XY. BW/BW2 was peak. And while that is a completely normal and expected trend, I absolutely would not want to publicly mention that data with the way the internet is. Because people love to shit on things just cause and ‘analyse’ things with no real understanding of what they are doing.

I would be interested to know how many people came back for SV DLC. Because releasing it in two parts can’t be good for retention. To say nothing of Limited Time Events.

It’s why post game should have more challenging content. Because only the hardcore players are left

Made even stranger by other themes having chanting or cheering so they could have done it if they wanted to.

Much like every other issue with modern Pokémon, this decision probably goes back to Gen V with the Dennis meme.

That being said, I’m still baffled that with the state of modern voice acting, especially on any media coming from Japan, anyone would want vocals included. It wouldn’t be no Jump Up Superstar.

Honestly I can hardly remember most of the Pokemon themes after XY except single ones.

I don't get why they don't experiment more with the music. Majority of the battle songs in the games are just 180-200 BPM tunes with drums that go "BOOM, TISS, BOOM, TISS, BOOM TISS". Black and White was the start of the right direction with a different drum pattern, which is appreciated. The gym battle song in that game is kickin. B2W2 added more goodness with Colress' battle theme and the rival battle theme.

Ah...I sort of memory holed it since I really do not like Zinnia as a character. Theme is good.

To be fair, it can provide insight into the game's performance market wise. But yeah a lot of pseudo-intellectuals tend to use those to make as many points as possible in the hopes something lands.

They didn't even have him sing in a cutscene either. Someone at GuntFreak thought this was serviceable. Which is it because Pokemon "fans" eat any slop that comes their way. Reminder that Pokemon Generations is the best thing to come out of TPC in years, and that shit was 7 years ago. Unless you count Arceus which...honestly I thought was ok at best.
