There is a romhack I am planning on playing once I am done with SuperGold97. It's basically a remaster of the game, including physical/special split, later gen moves and fairy typing, along with more shadow pokemon and tougher encounters. That I like, what I don't like is changes to the type chart and changed typing for different pokemon(Ninetales is now dark type and fire type, I think and Stantler is a psychic type for example). Still, it is the only mod that I know of for the game. The romhacks can be found on Project Pokemon website btw.I need to go back and play Coliseum again. Think I'll Nuzlocke it.
I was going to break out my gamecube, but I guess I need to figure out how to emulate it. I hadn't bothered yet. There is a romhack I am planning on playing once I am done with SuperGold97. If you're going to emulate it, I suggest downloading "Trigger's PC" as well. It's a third gen pokemon bank, it lets you transfer pokemon between savefiles of all gen 3 games(but not cheat them in), also lets you transfer items/money even trade evolve pokemon. Hell, the app even has "achievements" which grant you otherwise unavailable event items or pokemon after reaching a certain point in the game(they are properly handed to you as well so you can in theory transfer them to bank and even home down the line)I was going to break out my gamecube, but I guess I need to figure out how to emulate it. I really thought TM28 was TOMBSTONER.but a lot of that mystique disappears when you see Blaine making endless fire puns and testing super basic knowledge instead of playing on his scientist elements
That was gen 2Koga decides to fuck with you by making an invisible maze alongside disguising his gym trainers
stupid fucking trash puzzle again.
It doesn't help that gym puzzles died a grisly death with XY (or ORAS, I guess?) and have since been replaced with one-off minigames that never take more than 5 minutes and aren't memorable enough to be annoying nor challenging enough to be memorable.
he liked Hop and was always excited to face off against him.
Where it was almost entirely unchanged from gen 1...That was gen 2
Gen 1 didn’t disguise his trainers, it only had the invisible walls. And they weren’t even completely invisible, you could still see them.Where it was almost entirely unchanged from gen 1...
The kid was like 7 or 8.
I believe this was something that was only recently discovered, since I remember everybody parrotted that even 2 years ago. Here is a video explaining what you mean in more detailSatoru did not compress any data, but rather had image data decompress and load a scoach faster. That algorithm was a scoach bigger compared to the old algorithm; the reason why they could fit Kanto is because they got a ROM cup that had twice the size of the original one.
Can't imagine why you'd say that. The video also covers the less known 1999 build of Gold and Silver once Masuda started getting more influence over the series. The designs for some of the Pokemon there are baffling, like they don't even belong in the game's world.
The gun Remoraid(and tank Octillery) are actually part of the 1997 build, and are in fact playable in SuperGold97. I meant more the flaming raccoon, the minimalistic ghosts and other really basic designs that look like generic JRPG fodder and not actual pokemon. So glad they removed them, but I wish they kept some of the designs from 1997 instead, like the fire seal or the voodoo doll. Can't imagine why you'd say that.

Scrapped Pokemon stuff is definitely interesting. No idea if this was mentioned or not, but the Cutting Room Floor has a lot of unused and leaked Pokemon, and Dr. Lava's Xitter and Youtube also have info on the topic, including translated interviews.
