I like the firetort... kinda. I feel it could've been better but oh well.

Mystery Dungeon Explorers had Team Skull before it was cool. SINNOH CONFIRMED!

In all seriousness, Hyper Training is what has me hyped the most so far. It's a good thing I didn't put my shiny Porygon on Wonder Trade like I was thinking of doing.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this one. I know what turtle it's based off of (at least by visuals; can't remember the actual turtle species name unfortunately). I'd have to actually use one before deciding if I really like it or not, because visually I'm a bit on the fence about how much I like it.

But I will catch one and name it "POW" because it looks exactly like the comic-book explosion design when they use the POW sound-effect.

But is it pronounced "ter-TONN-uh-tor" or TUR-TO-NA-TRRRR?
I love it. I love Drampa too, but this is a Tyrantrum-esque Dragon that I might pick.

Technically this anime news, but whatever.

So yesterday, the Pokemon episode that aired featured Ash losing in the final round of the Kalos League to Alain. People are actually really pissed, because not only did Ash lose again, he was all but set up to win this time (had a pseudo-legendary in the form of Goodra, his Greninja got an upgrade that made it OP as fuck, Talonflame, Noivern, and Hawluncha are all powerful fighters, and Pikachu is Pikachu; not to mention that it seems like Alola won't have a regular Pokemon League so this would be a good opportunity for Ash to finally win a league). And he lost to Mega Charizard X anyway.

People are fucking pissed. Just look at the like/dislike ratio for the next episode trailer:

You can barely even see the like bar. The ratio is also shockingly high compared to other widely hated trailers. Also, here's an article covering some of the backlash.

I wasn't particularly happy with Ash losing yet again either; he had a really good team going, there was a lot of build up to the idea he was going to win by the skin of his teeth with these past few episodes, and of course the writers went and ripped the win right from under Ash's feet. I'm not surprised, though; they've always made Ash the loser when it comes to "official competitions" in the anime (minus the Orange League, since I do believe he won that one; correct me if I'm wrong) for...one reason or another. I never did understand why they chose to keep making him lose these things. The excuse of "so he'll go to the next region and try that one" is stale and, frankly, unbelievable, since I feel Ash would keep traveling anyways.

It's irksome, but on the other hand, Ash somehow manages to beat/befriends a shitload of Legendary Poke'mon where most others wouldn't be able to, so I guess that might be why they make him lose the league challenges. Try to balance it out a little? It's a stretch but it's the only reason I can think of for them making Ash lose every league challenge for 20 years running.

I saw this shit coming from miles away. I heard that in an interview, they outright stated that Ash would never win a league competition. But watch them pull a Unova in Alola, make Ash go full retard, and only make top 64 at best after the big reset button is hit.

He won the Orange League, but it's not view as an actual win since it didn't involve 8 badges and a tournament. The anime always has him win the "not-leagues" and seems to think that'll be good enough.

People kinda view this as the same as what happened in Sinnoh. In that league, a guy randomly shows up with a legendary Pokemon, Ash manages to KO said legendary, only for the guy to go "lol okay, here's my OTHER legendary". This time, his OP Greninja used a never before seen super water move....that did no damage to Charizard because it "evaporated the water" or some asspull reason.

I like how the punching crab looks like it has a bruised eye.

Ah right, that was the one where the guy had a Latios and Darkrai, right? That was some serious bullshit they pulled with that sheerly because some randomass dude managed to get his hands on two legendaries and was, as far as I'm aware, never seen again after that episode.

I really don't like the way they pull out some bullshittery to make people lose in the anime. I understand real-world psychics don't work to an extent in the show and games, but for the Mega Charizard X to manage to evaporate that much water near-instantaneously is some grade-a bullhonkey.

Can't wait to see what they pull with this corrupt/man-made Zygarde in the next episode. Ash gonna get shoved to the sidelines while Alain battles the beast now? That would make the fandom extra salty about Ash's loss; stack on top of it him not doing the classic "resolve an issue with a legendary" shtick.

Based on the opening and preview images, I think Alain's gonna be on Team Flare's side. Then Ash will beat him, he'll become a "good guy", and the anime will go "See? He beat Alain! He beat the Champion! That's totally the same thing as beating the League, right?"

So it'll actually be even more salt than if he just lost.

Yeah, this is what people are arguing. Basically, Alain will side with Team Flare, fight Ash, and lose to him, which will "redeem" Ash's loss in the Kalos League. Except that nobody gives a shit if Ash "redeems" himself and beats Alain later, because that won't make him League Champion.

Idk, I think it would have been better if Ash had just won the League, which causes Alain to become bitter and solidifies his ties with Team Flare.
