Can't forget our puking-out-my-innards cucumber friend!
upload_2016-8-10_17-32-25.png

I know he was covered a smidge already in here, but it's nice to see it looks like he'll be dropping in the trailer, and I really want to see this guy's fighting animation. If weird stretchy-muscle stuff comes out and makes a giant fist to punch their enemies with, I'll be disgustingly happy.

USA announcement for our schooling fish, sea cucumber, mushroom, and new alolan forms came out a couple hours ago.

Innards Out looks like it's similar to Aftermath, dealing damage to an opponent who faints it.

Also, I'm actually digging Team Skull more than I initially thought I would. The music that plays is pretty bossin', and their movements seem to make them more expressive. I like 'em.

Yeah, I'm starting to really like them, too. From the trailer, it seems like they're based on a gang:
  • Their outfits just scream "gang" to me, especially the male grunts' outfit
  • The grunt's movements at 1:38 are very "gangsta," for lack of a better term
  • Their theme music gives the same impression
  • Their speech patterns indicate it ("Let's get up out of this port, B," "It's your boy Guzma," etc)
  • Plumeria is referred to as Team Skull's "big sister" and she refers to the grunts as her "cute, dumb brothers and sisters." Real-life gangs use familial terms like this to describe each other. They even do it in Japanese gangs, where higher-ups are often called aniki (big bro) or anego (big sis).
  • Guzma's outfit is even more gangsta than the grunts'. Plus, he says that he and Professor Kukui are "fellow rejects who could never become captains." People join gangs due to lack of prospects.
We actually haven't had a gang-based evil team before; so far there's been Team Rocket (yakuza/mafia), Team Aqua/Magma (eco-terrorists), Team Galactic (cult), Team Plasma (animal rights wrongs group), and Team Flare (I actually don't know what to classify them as lol). I'm pretty interested in how Team Skull will be used in the storyline.

Also, concerning the (alleged) final Litten evolution:

Really digging Team Skull, they remind me a lot of Team Rocket in that they seem to be just a regular criminal organization.

So it seems like a good chunk of the Poke'mon fandom are starting to get butthurt about Wishiwashi's school form due to part of it's description on the Poke'mon website, where it says even Gyarados are afraid of it. There's also some salt about how the description for Alolan Raichu's existence is basically "fuckit why not".

The Raichu in Alola have two types—Electric and Psychic—and they are able to wield psychic power. What’s more, they can gather their psychic power in their tails and then ride on them to float in the air! Even Pokémon researchers don’t know why Raichu’s form changed in the Alola region. The people of Alola seem unconcerned by the question. Their guess: maybe it ate too many sweet and fluffy round pancakes! Raichu has electric sacs on its cheeks, and rubbing them causes a sweet aroma to be released. The mechanism behind this is not clear, but it’s thought to be connected to the psychic power that Alolan Raichu possess.

holy fuck it is a "fuck it"

It's a major "fuck it" even by Poke'mon standards. Even something as simple as them adapting to develope these powers in order to surf from island to island would have been nicer than NA BRO HAVE ELECTRIC/PSYCHIC RAICHU BECAUSE WE DON'T FEEL LIKE MAKING AN ACTUAL NEW POKE'MON WITH THAT TYPING.

no... it's... it ate too many pancakes..
those are whipped cream marks.. whipped cream goes on pancake, it can make sweet aromas come out, pancakes smell sweet
pancakes cause psychic powers oh my gOD

I demand we get Alola Raichu by evolving a Pikachu via making it eat pancakes with whipped cream on top.

I think Team Flare was supposed to be a kind of elitist/snob type of thing.

On the topic of Sun/Moon, though, I don't see why some people are so butthurt about Wishiwashi. I can maybe understand, to a small extent, Alolan Raichu's lack of justification (even though I still think the whining is ridiculous).

Innards Out apparently deals the same amount of damage as the blow that knocks out Pyukumuku, so that could make for some interesting strategies.

maybe Gyarados is scared of it cause it doesn't want to be sucked in and become part of the *f i s h h i v e m i n d*
anyway I have 0% complaints about pancake-raichu. It's tail looks like a big wad of melting butter. i love it

The only theory I can come up with is that maybe it evolves with whipped dream, the thing that makes Swirlix (the derpy cotton candy pokemon) evolve.

Meh, ever since Dual-Typing became a thing for starters, the Internet has ever been happy with the final Fire Evolution. I'm still gonna stick with Wrestler Cat, be he Fire/Fighting or Fire/Dark.

As for the surfing Psychic Raichu, I know where it came from.
