I’d argue that while Violet had the better pool of Paradox Pokémon, Scarlet had significantly more fun with the designs rather than “is robot”.

yea...nothing is 'futuristic'. There is no Avant Garde look to any of them vs the primal aesthetic getting all the bells and whistles.

I briefly quit Pokemon after Gen 7 and only came back recently with SV and the DLC has me curious but also cautious.
How expansive was the DLC in SwSh?
For what its worth, I enjoyed the maingame in SV a lot despite some of Pokemon's typical issues (now on top of some technical ones) but was very disappointed that the postgame didn't even have a battle tower. Its my main hope for the DLC along E4 rematches or general content for characters like Larry or Rika that I liked a lot but the presentation made it look like a big extra area with its own sub-plot.

SwSh DLC was actually pretty decent, both added fairly large new areas and stories and IMHO were more fun the the main game. Hopefully these new DLCs are like that too, but I've learned not to be too hopeful.

Well, I’ve formed my opinion on the Pokémon Day presentation…
The creepy Pikachu was kind of just there, it definitely looks like it’s some form of animatronic puppet .
The Pokémon World Championship announcement was a bit of a nothingburger for me due to Yokohama being announced at last year’s World Championships, but seeing the key art and learning where the event’s being hosted in Yokohama is a plus.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic thing genuinely annoys me since it‘s just another premium set That’ll be scalped to high hell and back.Part of me hopes that TPCi will separate the new Standard-legal cards (by folding them into proper sets) while the retro reprints are put into their own products. But this is TPCi we’re talking about here so my optimism is already gone. EDIT: My autism flared up and it turns out that none of the new cards in this product have the regulation marks that allow for Standard-format play and won't be legal for tournament play. That still doesn't mean it won't be scalped.
Pokemon Concierge is a Netflix production and it’s TPC-supported, it‘s guaranteed to be craptastic.
Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon Café Mix kind of a nothingburger, but I’m pretty sure one Pokémon-related lolcow won’t be happy with the first one.
Pokémon Sleep was kind of a wet fart given that it’s been MIA for three years but I really couldn’t see how they could elevate a sleep-tracking app to the same level that GO is at.
Speaking of GO I’m really shocked to see that not only does the SVxGO include the Gimmigoul bit that was hinted at last year, but that it also extends to Vivillon via the postcards you get from Poké Stops and hopefully 7km Eggs. Seriously, I genuinely thought that making the event-exclusive Fancy Pattern Vivillon was intended rather than being a placeholder for GO connectivity.
I thought that the Pokémon Go Plus+ was a whatever announcement at first but the GO connectivity changed that, being able to select which Poké Balls you can use for catching Pokémon was something that a lot of GO players were asking for since the original GO Plus accessory came out in 2016.
The new Paradox Pokémon that were revealed genuinely makes me happy that I selected Scarlet as my main version, Walking Wake is honestly a nice “prehistoric” take on Suicune (that Water/Dragon typing is a godsend but Protosynthesis hurts it unless you’re using Booster Energy) while Iron Leaves falls into the same problem that most Violet Paradox Pokémon are in and being a Grass/Psychic type doesn’t help it much. And I love that they’ll be in 5-Star raids, that means they’ll be easy to do solo but the whole ”One per save file” bit is slightly annoying.
The SV DLC is interesting, my opinions on it are kind of similar to SWSH’s DLC so I hope GF can deliver.
The Teal Mask’s story sounds basic on paper but the addition of four new Pokémon and an added boost of returning Pokémon will hopefully prevent it from being boring. Seeing as how three of the new Pokémon (Munkidori, Okidogi, and Fezandipiti) look like they‘re part Dark-type despite being described as the heroes of Kitakami and having sentai-styled masks based off of ‘em pop up in festival stalls I wouldn’t be surprised those three Pokémon have two different forms. Ogerpon is mysteriously absent from a lot of the news pieces but I have a feeling that, if the bit about the three other Pokémon are true, it may play an antagonistic role in that episode’s storyline. I wouldn’t be surprised if we also got a bit of history for the Treasures of Ruin in this part as well.
The Indigo Disk‘s story is, outside of the bit about going to a sister school that specializes on Pokémon battles as exchange students, is basically nonexistent but I wouldn‘t be surprised if this part contains something along the lines of a Battle Tower or similar post-game tournament. I have a feeling that it’ll be the one that really ties into Area Zero considering that Terapagos is mentioned in the Scarlet/Violet Book, its design is also contains some pretty blatant hints towards it being the main force behind the Terastal phenomena (Tera symbol on the middle of its shell and symbols representing the various Pokemon types on the scutes). If Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are this DLC‘s Galarian Slowpoke then I fully expect a major expansion to Area Zero (with additional areas to catch Terapagos itself and get more of the previous two Paradox Pokémon),

Walking Wake is better than Iron Leaves by a mile just by not following the whole “X Pokemon as a robot” bit that a lot Violet’s Paradox Pokemon suffer from and by being a Water/Dragon type, Iron Leaves suffers due to the Grass/Psychic typing.

Robot is boring, T-rex is going to take a bit of getting used to but it is unique, Dog has strong "prototype design" feelings, Monkey stylistically feels extremely out of place, Bird is ok, Mask is just a thing that will probably look a lot better when we see a 3D model, Turtle looks cool, but based on it's design I have a feeling it's going to be another Arceus/Genesect kind of gimmick.
As for the patch, I'm not noticing much improvement. The frame rate drops are a little less dramatic, but still noticable, Raids are only a little more responsive, and boxes are still a mess. I remember reading something about them reducing the amount of spawns loaded to improve performance, but with all my time shiny hunting, I can say this doesn't seem to be true. There's just as many spawns as there were before. Pretty disappointing they half assed so much.
Also "spend $35 now for uniforms that should of been in the game already for free, and wait six months for another fraction of your purchase!". How cuntish.

The DLC for S/V seems neat, but the rest of that presentation nearly put me to Pokemon Sleep.

I like them (except for Iron Leaves). Walking Wake, Munkidori, and Terpagos are my favorites. I'm also glad to see past lines like the Shiftry, Yanma, Vikavolt, and Metagross lines are being added in via the DLC.
I hope the Mudkip and Litten lines are added in. The were put in SWSH via DLC, hopefully they'll be added in SV too.
Edit: Also hope to see Litwick and Zubat added in. I want my Chandelure and Crobat, dammit.

So apparently Hydro Steam, Walking Wake's signature move, is actually boosted in the sun, not lowered. This might make it an extremely interesting addition to Sun Teams, or a great sun counter.
I'm almost certain that the teal mask trio is gonna be a prototype for split-evolution starter Pokémon, or something of that nature. Much like how the wild areas were a prototype for full open world.

When Sw/Sh DLC got announced a bunch of Pokemon had their Pokedex data deleted (and every last one was later seen in the DLC). Based on this, data miners have created THIS list of all the entries deleted in this patch. If they're following the same patterns as before, that list is every returning DLC Pokemon. Accordingly with that list in mind, the only Pokemon to have yet to come to Switch are Spinda (kinda), Furfrou, and a handful of gen 5's (which we all know the remakes are coming).

I'll spoiler it if anyone doesn't wanna see.
Well, firstly there's the fact we see three designs at the start that do not seem to resemble their current states. I would guess these are their base forms:
Their unique colours when seen are pretty clearly Green Dog, Blue Monkey, and Red/Orange Bird. This seems to suggest a grass-water-fire theme, which would make sense for starters/starter analogues.
Then, the rl parts of the trailer place them in heroic or at least trainer-aligned positions: a sign has them running with the trainer after Ogrepon, and the mask stall has them with a clear Sentai theme.
Note that the Eevee and Pikachu masks are spot-on, with no creative liberties taken in design. However, not only are the trio wildly different, but so is what appears to be Ogrepon - it has horns that are not present on the actual Pokémon we see, different eyes, and a redder face. It's very noticeable that they'd have recognizable pokemon with no changes, but new Pokemon with wildly inconsistent designs. You'd almost expect the opposite.
Also note that these don't seem to be the base stages, either. The base stages don't seem to wear these visors, and the bird eyeshadow is just eyebrows on the statues.
Lastly, look at the way the black is placed on the actual pictures, and the white is placed on the masks. Not only do they go from black to white, but the colours invert positions - the Sentai Dog has a green face with a white muzzle, while Okidoji has a black face with a green muzzle. This is true of the other two, too.
It could be that the base stages are one step, the ones shown properly are the midstep, and the Sentai forms are the final step, or vice versa, but that'd be a very wild evolution line, with several different steps in tone. My feeling is more that these are two different final forms, maybe interchangable, maybe not.
And it's not like this wouldn't have precedence. It'd be an expansion of Kubfu and Urshifu's unique legendary trait, which was in the first DLC of the last game. A split evolution starring as the player travels to a different island. It might very well be that they're using this as a chance to expand on it here.
Also, the lack of the Paldea starters in Teal mask's promo art, vs. their heavy prominence in the Indigo disk promo art. My guess is the base forms are given to the player as starter analogues in kitakami, much like Kubfu was in the Isle of armour.
Lastly, the two rivals that are in both pictures. This is largely speculation, but the boy seems to be presented as a little darker or more troubled than the girl, being further in the back of the first title image, and facing away from the camera in the second. I don't think these are split rivals like Klara and Avery - the key art for the dlc doesn't seem to generally include any version exclusives. Perhaps they each take one of the starters you don't, but the girl gets the heroic version, and the boy the evil one?

What if the full beasts and muskedeer trios come out in stages? Suicune and Virizion come out at first, then another pair around the time of the Teal Mask, then a third pair around the indigo disc. Then they have some kind of hybrid form at the end of it all which does more closely resemble the base sketches.

okay, i'm sorry, but i'm not convinced.
The masks are likely of more "heroic" forms, not evolutions/prevolutions. And the trio is very clearly based on the tale of Momotarō, in which a boy befriends a trio of a dog (Okidogi), a pheasant (Fezandipiti), and a monkey (Monkidoki) to fight ogres (Ogerpon), as well as the masks seemingly alluding to Donbrothers (choosing that specifically because Donbrothers is also loosely based on Momo, and also because the japs have been meming it HARD) and/or other sentai shows. Especially supporting the Momotarō influence is how the player is depicted with the trio going against Ogerpon on a promotional image:
I also have my own theory on this, which is probably equally-as autistic, but I wanna explain where i'm coming from:
Okay, so, with everything I said above, I think it's possible that this is a kind of light/dark thing. The masks are of the mons' "hero" forms, the ones that the townsfolk believe protect their village (which would tie into the themes of imagination present in the Area Zero storyline, and therefore the name of the DLC), and the actual Pokémon we've been shown are "heel" forms either achieved through Ogerpon corrupting/recruiting them (which I'm mainly considering due to their placement on the promotional poster) or some other influence we haven't seen yet. Maybe they put on the masks to help townsfolk, but are actually evil on the inside or something. It could be like how the aforementioned sentai influences change in and out of hero costumes instead of staying in them all the time. Going by that logic, these forms (we've already seen) could also just be the "standard" and not actually evil, but their posing and color scheme combined with how they're depicted in actual artwork makes me doubt that.
I'm guessing the (first wave of the DLC's) storyline will be about rescuing this trio from Ogerpon's influence and then using them all to fight it back, before finding out Ogerpon is just some misunderstood beast that you can catch or by defeating it through catching. Or something like that.
As for the statues, I think that's just them stylizing the existing designs in a way that'd fit a statue better. That's certainly the case for plenty of existing old Japanese stautes, especially in regards to mythical creatures like Tanuki (confident that real Tanuki do not have massive balls that are bigger than their palms, if they do then lmk). Highly doubt there's any significance to them beyond the covered parts indicating where those awful hot-pink doo-dads go on the real things.
Willing to believe that Ogerpon evolves, since its difference really does seem more like some kind of "it just gets bigger" evolution instead of a different form (mainly due to retaining color palette and just gaining a few features).
...I got a bit off-track there, sorry. Basically: I disagree, though that was an interesting explanation. Have my own hyper-autistic take on things as a bonus, I guess.

I mean, if you read my thing, my expectation is primarily split evolutions, not the sentai and villain forms being on the same line. I mostly just acknowledged and went against that theory.
Whether it's actually fully split evolutions, or just two forms of the same Pokemon, I think that's just down to time to tell. And regardless, I maintain whatever form that split takes is a prototype for making some similar split in final starter stages.
