Um... Is it bad that as a young adult, I've been watching certain episodes of the anime's first two seasons and loving them, and that I want to get a Nintendo Switch partly for the Metroid Prime Remaster, but more so for Pokémon?
I think a Switch is an okay platform to get, provided you actually are interested in the line of games that Big N actually puts on it, and you are, you know, actually planning to use it as intended. (Ghetto home console or portable console to carry around during travel).

It's worse: I'm a newbie. I've had no interest in Pokémon over my teenage life, but now I have an urge to play it!

I don't know why, either.
If you are going to play based off th earlier erisodes, I sugges that you play th earlier games.
Awai the 'inevitable' rereleases of the first Pokémon games when they appear on Switch Online... or get modded versions of the ROMs.

Buy a 3DS and homebrew it. You can play gens 4-7 normally on it (legally or otherwise) and play gens 1-3 by injecting them with homebrew (I don't think you can get 1-2 legit anymore since the eshop closed down, but they used to be available).

The 3DS and Wii U eShops don't close for another month or so but you do need to pair your NNID and Nintendo Switch IDs and enable fund sharing in order to get Gens 1-2.

Also, you'll need to download Pokémon Bank and pay $6 USD to get Poké Transporter if you want any Pokémon from Gens 1-5 without homebrew.

Is it easy to homebrew a 3DS without the risk of bricking it? I got my hands on a second one along with a Wii last month for a good deal and thought about homebrewing both of them.

get a 3ds switch is cucked and makes you pokeyman-tired. probably gen 7 best gen for a beginner since it was off-label made to get the new Pokemon Go audience in. If handholding doesn't bother you of course, otherwise get gen 6.

Very easy actually. I followed this tutorial and everything went perfectly:

Yeah it’s a really straightforward process! Just remember if your SD card is over a certain amount you’ll need to format it to FAT32 before using it for your 3DS. Once it’s home brewed you can either download .cia files online or use your 3DS to download the HShop and download them through there. I will say it is rather time consuming

Meanwhile with Switch homebrew: "Just rewire the electrical wiring of your entire house d00d. Its physically impossible to mod a switch lite."-some trannies and faggots off gbatemp

Kill all trannies

So the Pikachu Raid made me realise something. I wish all 7 Stars had an extra ablity that allowed them to use the move they use at the start of a match.

Having Pokemon clearly designed with a free setup turn in mind but no way to setup on their own is odd.

Tangentialy related, but the released both the title and preview images for the last four Pokémon episodes with Ash. One is focused soley on Team Rocket and had this as the teaser.

Looks like it’s their last hurrah too.

They're as much main characters as Ash is.
I'm surprised most of the kanto Pokemon aren't there, though. Perhaps they get their own moment.

It’s probably all the ones that weren’t released or given away in some way. Those are the ones that the rest of Team Rocket took after every region, I think.

Yeah but you can't tell me that Arbok and Weezing aren't gonna show up when team rocket blasts off for the last time.

Pokémon Day is coming soon. There's a whole bunch of related news, and just an itty bitty trickle of leaks. I'll spoiler everything in order of how surprising they are.

The final part of the Go Home and Sleep trio is apparently going to get a trailer in this direct. Pokemon Sleep's website has been adjusted into a link to the direct, so presumably the details will get revealed then.

Some leaks have come out regarding the three Pokemon known and not seen in gen 9 yet. Unfortunately, the leakers are all riddlebastards.
- Neither of the Paradox Pokemon look close to the sketches in the book of their counterparts.
- Paradox Suicune's bodyshape is either "Winged" (where most bat and bird pokemon are, as well as eternatus), "Bipedal without tail" or "Bipedal with tail". Note that all past paradoxémon have tails. Even Magneton.
- Paradox Virizion shares some trait with Iron Thorns and Iron Jugulis, Violet's robotic version of Hydreigon and Tyranitar. Nobody's got any idea what that similarity is, and a lot of people say khu has phoned it in.
- There's a turtleshell design associated with the third legendary. It may also be a cut gemstone. It very closely resembles the pendant one of the two new Protags (Liko, the Girl) is wearing.

According to logged copyrights... a new Mystery Dungeon game is likely coming out. Spike Chunsoft's copyright notice has been updated for 2023. My money's on a Time/darkness/sky remake.

Who here's got 44 minutes and multiple brain cells to spare to watch this? Just from the thumbnail I can tell that this is going to be a total fucking train wreck, not to mention how Youtubers have contorted and abused the entire idea of a Nuzlocke in the past few years anyways. I'm not as resistant to stuff like this (I guess it'd be "cringe" but that word has been tainted for me) as most of the site, so I'm sharing the vid in case anybody else is stronger than me and able to sustain such a lengthy onslaught of ADHD editing and objectively wrong info lol.
Lmk if it's actually a masterpiece and 100% accurate or something. I've had a craving for lengthy "history of" videos as of late, so if this one somehow isn't utter trash then I'd be happy to watch it. I would probably sperg out a bit if it had some key facts wrong though, teenage me took this stuff way too seriously and i'm not convinced that part of me is dead just yet.

Its just the history of the idea of the nuzlocke challenge. https://www.nuzlocke.com/about/
Well, yes, but I'm not convinced it's even remotely accurate (because Wolfey has sold out completely and was never interested in Nuzlockes in the first place) and can't stomach the editing for long enough to confirm. Therefore, post.

what about my buddy Mimikyu?
