I just can't bring myself to like it. Pawniard and Bisharp are among my favourites, and it feels like they ruined the line. How did we go from chess to samurai?
Despite being chess themed, I got more Power Rangers vibes from Bisharp.

I've started playing Scarlet now that I'm mostly done with Violet, and I found this little cutie just outside of Los Platos. That's right—I haven't even reached the academy yet.

I already had my team planned out, but I couldn't resist this one after seeing its evoved shiny form (sorry, Veluza):

This game is very oddly generous with shinies because I got three shinies already and I wasn't even shiny hunting.

Only issue is the lighting for some pokemon makes some shinies hard to see like pikachu who already is too similar to be distinguished.

They really need that shiny sound back because no way in fuck is anyone going to be able to tell if they see a shiny garchomp or not.

Yet another thing PLA did better.
And I don’t understand why they changed it or removed it. The target and catching system worked great. It’s like they took PLA, removed all the good things and added gyms.

‘Yes we are going to have flying Pokemon in the Overworld…what’s a jet ball?’ ‘Yes Pokemon are going to run from you…what’s throwing berries and lures?’ Etc. Ect,

I am probably going to lose interest by Thursday, but I compiled an overdumped list of moves that are going to be in my theoretical demake.

Because the tonnes of moves are definitely not going to fit in the smaller space in Pokémon Crystal, I did a list only of the moves the Pokémon in my tentative Pokédex could learn by level-up, took away the moves that ar either impossible (Helping Hand) or difficult in implementation (Revival Blessing), then took away any redundant moves (Muddy Water), especially those who would not benefit from the lack of Physical-Special Split in Pokémon Crystal (Giga Impact). I leaned towards removing the newer moves, but I at times got rid of older ones that wer egregious (Pound when Tackle xists). I even got rid of Mega Kick and Splash, though I added Lovely Kiss and Hail, the latter absorbing all uniqu effect Snow has.

Even then, I still have to get rid of 17 moves. I would like some suggestions.

Notably, I wonder if Headbutt is redundant with Stomp, Horn Attack, and Slash, if Torch Song is redundant with Fiery Dance, if Disarming Voice is redundant with Fairy Wind, if I should use Brutal Swing instead of Bite, and if I should use Force Palm instead of Circle Throw.

Overall, I like Violet and hope Gen 9 builds on the potential that S/V brought. I will say though, this is the first generation where I boxed the starter I chose (Quaxly). I just don't like any of their final or middle evolved forms. The story was definitely an improvement (to some extent) over the last few gens and I really liked Nemona's character.

Now looking at some of the last un-used type combinations as of Gen 9, the two that stuck out to me was Fairy/Ground and Fairy/Fire. I'm kind of surprised that they still don't have either of those just yet.

Fuecoco wins the award for the starter with the most pleasantly unexpected final evo ever in my opinion. It and Crocalor are goofy looking as hell but then you get Skeledridge which is an imposing looking giant on all fours.

I picked weed cat, but had I known about Skeledridge ahead of time I'd have probably picked the goofy looking motherfucker. I'd have kept my coincidental streak of choosing the fire starter since the 6th generation too.

I'd like to see Future versions of:

-Feraligatr
-Blastoise
-Victreebel
-Exeggutor
-Scolipede
-Crobat
-Yanmega
-Kabutops
-Dusknoir

As for Past Paradox forms, Dragapult is at the top of the wishlist.
A past and future version of Magikarp would be cool. Both would be about on par with Gyarados when it comes to overall power.

-Past: Typing is water and dragon. This would be the Magikarp that is referenced all the way back in its Red/Blue Pokedex entry as being stronger than its extant form. An aggressive fish that has features of both Magikarp and Gyarados. Powerful, but its traits are energy expensive and few survive to adulthood. Facing almost certain extinction, the species gradually undergoes changes and it is eventually able to thrive with much less nutritional intake and breed like crazy, at the expense of all its power. However, all the powerful traits it lost would be reborn as the evolution Gyarados in the select few Magikarp that are able to make it there.

-Future: Typing is water and steel. Most Magikarp remain weak through life as few are able to achieve their second evolution. A scientist with a fascination for Magikarp decided to remedy this by experimenting with the more intelligent Magikarp, encasing them in cybernetic metal suits on legs (think the walking fish in Jungi Ito's "Gyo") that allow them to quickly swim as well as walk/run and hop great heights on land. The suit also allows them all the moves Gyarados is able to use, and with about the same amount of power. Because of this, they are powerful enough that they can often beat Gyarados in a one-on-one fight. Overtime, the fish inside became fused with the cybernetic suit, becoming the future Magikarp. Its signature move would be a new form of the move Splash that causes a high amount of damage.

I thought of cool designs for them too. I wish I could draw, lol.

nearly everyone i've seen, myself included, have gotten a shiny really really early into the game. some people have said they didn't get one but maybe they missed it

I didn't find/see one early on but I was surprised to randomly come across a shiny Dratini around 40 hours into my playthrough. They really should have included the sparkle and sound from PLA with how subtle some of the shiny colors are.

Two of the shiny Pokemon I found were just chilling while I was battling something else. I can't imagine how many more I missed simply because I wasn't standing still long enough to spot them.

Oh my fucking word I fucking hate Nintendo and their incessant need to make simple fucking features convoluted as all hell. Try to wirelessly send a screenshot, smartphone option just straight up doesn't fucking work. I'm not connecting a Twitter account (nor can I, as soon as I do the browser stops working entirely), and I tried to make a Facebook which was banned FUCKING INSTANTLY (literally the second I hit "create") because "I didn't use my real name".

Finally break down to shoving my SD card in the computer (it has usb-c, why the fuck can't I just do that, Nintendo?) and my fucking word, what the fuck is their file organization system? I get it's all by date, but it's so unintuitive the way it's set up. Is Nintendo just literally incapable of just doing shit in a standardized method? All this fuckin' effort to post this screenshot, because what the actual fuck is this luck I just got?

Also, fuck raids. They aren't fun, at all. It's a miserable slog every single time and it almost feels like regardless of how well your group is set up to take down a raid, the AI will just deliberately cheat and fuck you into the dirt whenever the hell it feels like it. All the animations take way too damn long, the boss gets way, WAY too many actions whenever it fucking pleases, and thanks to a culmination of both of these, you're often getting shit canned by the timer because it takes half a god damn century for a single turn of actions to happen. I can't stand them and I wish so many good items weren't attached to them.

HARD agree. the raids are such fucking bullshit. they'll literally just glitch into randomly regenerating health and the lag is so fucking miserable.
what the fuck was the problem with the max raids? those were literally fine

I wouldn't mind Raids if the drop rates were way higher. Or Soloing was not essentially Goldingo, Iron Hands, Fluttermane or bust.

Because Herbas only have a chance to drop from 5-6 Star Raids. And if you are not scumming the dates, it's real bad. A chance to get a 1-use item that only lasts a limited time is horrendous.

Why Avern can't give you some daily via cooking I don't know.

Ma you describe the designs to me, then? There is no guarantee that I shall actually pu them in my theoretical demake (maybe after Pokémon Scarlet and Violet ge the DLC), but your ideas got me curious.

If they were anything like Sw/Sh I couldn'tt possibly imagine doing raids for fun, fuck that shit.
These new raids introduce exciting and fresh elements like letting the boss use three moves in a row in addition to three back-to-back boss powers, regenerate health randomly if you damage it too fast, stall you out with lag (even offline!) while the counter ticks down, freeze your cursor if you don't click fast enough, throw up a debuff-proof shield that you have to terastalize to get through before draining your tera level, randomly backing you out of menus, and breaking the game so utterly that sometimes text doesn't even have time to display.

ETA: No, they're not fun. You're either annihilating 1-5* raids with brute strength for pitiful rewards, or you are being fucked to death with the rest of your team of retards in diffcult 5* and most 6* raids. You either cheese it with the same 2-3 strats everyone else uses (Belly Drum Azu with Shell Bell or Iron Hands with Drain Punch, Pixelate Hypervoice Sylveon, or 4chan meme cat) or you simply fail.

To be fair, Max Raids did the same bullshit, just with a different packaging.

I still have no idea what these autists are talking about when they bring up raids in sw/sh and S/V. Where do you even go to start them in the UI?
