I still feel owed a Bellossom equivalent for the superior plant line. I would adore a Paradox Victreebel
Frenzy Vine is such an obvious and natural pick for a past Paradox Victreebel that I can see it in my mind's eye already. Not sure about a future Vileplume though. Maybe switch it up and let Vileplume be like Wretch Petal meanwhile Victreebel becomes the Iron Succ.

In the beta for Gold and Silver there was an alternative evo for Weepinbell named Tsubomitto.

It got scrapped from the game, along with the Poison stone (which would have been used to evolve Weepinbell for this 'mon). Shame it got scrapped.

Someone pointed out that Tsubomitto's design could be based on a baseball player, which would have been a joke about it being a catcher plant instead of a pitcher plant.

The funny part is that, in my theoretical hack, I already added Beta Wooper (because I am a fan of beta designs) and the Kotora line (because plenty of Pokéfans would beg me to pu the line if I am already putting beta Pokémon... and that would make Raciebeep jizz in her pants). Moreover, once I found ou that Magikarp and Gyarados were supposed to get 'Paldean' formes (the same way that Toedscool is a 'Paldean' Tentacool), I decided to make the 'Paldean' Gyarados the one from the prototype:
Pokémon_Early_Gyarados.png

...I would probably call the 'Paldean' Magikarp 'Magisano' and the 'Paldean' Gyarados 'Tierrados'.

Re: all that shiny talk
I used to find shiny pokémon cool
then after finding out how autistic people on the Internet are about hunting for them, I started feeling indifferent towards them
To be fair you kinda have to be autistic to hunt them (and even more autistic if you prefer full odds hunts like me!). No sane person would buy four GBA SPs just so they can quad hunt easier.

For me they're just really cool awesome trophies that sometimes have stories attached to them. It leans more towards the collecting side of the pokemon games rather than the battling side.

How long til we get SV mods/romhacks to add proper level-scaling by badge count and give all the gym leaders, etc. full teams with full move sets and items? Maybe replacing all trainer battles with double battles? The biggest flaw with the game (outside of the glitches, obviously) is that it’s still piss-easy unless you accidentally wander into the wrong area.

Either way, I would rather wait until May, and even then debugging the game would require an engine remake.

Well Scarlet & Violet have just had their first TCG set revealed and it’s really causing a stir in the community, the Japanese sets were revealed on the 9th and the English/international set was revealed the day after and several major changes are coming. The biggest ones I can see are price increases, Tool cards being taken out of Item cards and being made into their own Trainer subclass, the entire D Block of cards being rotated out of Standard, and the changes being made to products in order to justify the increased prices.

Oh, and as far as the video game is concerned I've kind of gotten stuck in terms of what to do next. I've want to Shiny hunt some more Paradox Pokémon but Roaring Moon, one of my main grails, is one of the harder ones to do thanks to its typing and spawning location and I'm just not motivated to hunt for Slither Wing or Sandy Shocks. I have been building up a nice collection of Herba Mystica though, I'm up to 14 (4 Sweet , 1 Sour, 3 Bitter, and 6 Spicy) so I should be fine once I get out of this rut.

I've started playing Scarlet now that I'm mostly done with Violet, and I found this little cutie just outside of Los Platos. That's right—I haven't even reached the academy yet.

I already had my team planned out, but I couldn't resist this one after seeing its evoved shiny form (sorry, Veluza):

Huh. I wonder if that's why there wasn't a leaf stone in Johto? I remember back when I first played Gold, I wanted to have a Victreebell but I had to go to Kanto to find one.

I ended up with the male Lechonk I named Guisado and holy shit I loved sassy pig. He was my tank until the unironically named Best girl Pooper turned into Clodsire.

Some of the new pokemon designs are 👌 this time, even if the game is rough looking af in places+times.

I wasn't particularly impressed by Lechonk when it was first revealed, but it's definitely growing on me. Clodsire is one of the best from this gen; as soon as I saw Paldean Wooper I knew I had to have it. I love regular Wooper, too.

There are some great designs in every gen, despite the occasional dud (looking at you, Kingambit), and I didn't think the game's flaws were anything too egregious. Mildly annoying, at most.

Clodsire is my trainer's starter and you can't tell me otherwise. Best girl steamrolled everything and she's not even that great of a Wooper to start with. That and weed cat looks too much like a Glip/PK design and that tainted masquerade cat for me. (Still cute tho, named it Kush lol)

-Yeah, I still kinda like kingambit tho, even if just for the concept and the kowtow cleave, sitting on its own hair is kinda questionable-looking.

nearly everyone i've seen, myself included, have gotten a shiny really really early into the game. some people have said they didn't get one but maybe they missed it

That's unfortunate; I love weed cat, personally. Its evos are pretty good too. (I hadn't heard of Glip before now. Ew.)

I just can't bring myself to like it. Pawniard and Bisharp are among my favourites, and it feels like they ruined the line. How did we go from chess to samurai?

Hm, I didn't. But it's true that I could have missed one. The lack of a shiny sound/visual is criminal.

I almost never find shinies without specifically hunting them, so this was a surprise to me. Especially so early on.

Just completed the story line last night. The ending feels incomplete and presents a number of questions that as of now are left unanswered. I hope DLC answers these. I also hope it allows us to travel to the past/future world the paradox Pokemon were coming from. I'd love to see those environments. It would also be an opportunity to release more paradox Pokemon and some of this game's non-box legendaries.

Other than that, all I can say is my boi Dondozo is an absolute tank and the ascended star of my team. Also glad Perrserker was included in the game as he's my favourite mon, even if you can only get one Galarian Meowth after you're about 2/3rds the way through the storyline.

This has never been a hot take as far as I can tell. I would love to once more have a rival you just want to beat into the dirt because they couldn't stop running their stupid mouths.
Legends of Arceus has Meli, who is incredibly narcissistic and uncooperative with not just the player character but every supporting character as well. I relished putting him down.

Wasn't that always the theme with them? Their names implied where they stood on the chain of command as well as their strength. The chess parallels are there (and still is with the "King" in Kingambit), but their designs barely resemble what the names implied they were based on.

Dondozo is another good mon, I enjoyed getting a giant catfish that's even bigger than whiscash. Tatsugiri not so much, but then again I haven't done a lot of double battles to be able to use their abilities together as intended. I still liked the design for the curly form though, just not a mon I plan to use rn.

The first two evolutions of the line never struck me as Chess-themed beyond the names alone tbh, but I can understand where Rattus is coming from. It seems more logical that the kingambit would look like an imposing combo of the black king, a rook, and blades as opposed to treacherous overlord/samurai.

I loved that they paired him with the just-as-stubborn Lian when shit really started going down.
I really hate the targeting in this game.

You can press ZL directly in front of a Pokemon and nothing will happen.
Yet another thing PLA did better. Not only is it so easy to lose Pokemon if they walk two inches to the left, but it's also not easy to switch to another Pokemon in a crowd or pick out a Pokemon on a different height plane than you. There have been situations where I was in a perfect ambush and my character whiffed the throw because the target Pokemon just walked away two frames before I pressed ZR.
