Area zero was amazing, gamefreak just keeps showing that they absolutely can make a good story if they just break-away from the stupid pg-3 environment and show a little edge.
I'm just happy the elephant in the room has been addressed. People,  do in fact, eat Pokemon.

Also the elite four members were a fucking joke. I miss the days when elite four members were like battle-scarred heroic heroes instead of regular pansies.
I knew this E4 was an absolute joke when I saw one of them was a literal toddler. I don't care how "talented" a trainer they are, it's a fucking toddler literally anyone is more capable, and I don't buy that the league that decides who new champions are has them as a head member. Its a level of stupid that is honestly baffling. They probably can't even tie their fucking shoe and I'm supposed to believe they're a key member of the closest thing this world has to a governmental body? Lol, no.

galar pokemon league never would've let this happen

it’s the Spanish league. Maybe the real hitters were taking a siesta or enjoying their 4 months of vacation per year. I think even Penny’s eevee team could’ve easily swept it.
paldea seems to be a lot less hardcore with battling in general. all of the gym leaders have a main job that they do instead of battling. in galar everyone is obsessed with it.

So you can't get the Lapras of Union Cave in a Nuzlocke, then.
You can get it as well as other static encounters and gift pokemon like sudowoodo, shuckle, gyarados and eevee.

Static Encounters are definitely a grey area, as seen here (https://www.reddit.com/r/nuzlocke/comments/oumqpn/static_encounters/). It really depends on how you want to play the game.

Not played SV myself but seen the E4 battles in a Video. They are pushovers, both team- and strategy-wise. At least, BDSP got this right.
Designs also suck.
Appearently a lot of new moves and abilities are imbalanced for CP, as if they hadn't learned from pyro ball, fishous rend and Wicked Blow.

But y is everone in galar such a pushover?

Alola has the toughest battles even tho it's such a loosey-goosey region. When i first played gen 7, there was so much to hate about, even after already being disappointed by gen 6.
But in hindsight those games are great in terms of region, difficulty, soundtrack. pokemon and character design, lore and gameplay. CP was probably most balanced in gen 4 but even with the power creep they did some important nerfs and buffs in gen 7, meta was fun. If there weren't so many unskippable cutscenes and more areas to explore instead, SM/USUM would be Triple A games. The framedrops dont bother me this was the 3ds era.

Now you got me wondering if anyone tried pitting the Paldea E4 against the Galar's and see who would come out on top.

Eh? So what's their equivalent then? (You can tell I never kept up with pokememes beyond the most superficial shit).
Galar was a little weird. Like in other games, Galar has a gym challenge in which trainers tackle each gym around the region for their badges. The gym leaders, I believe, were trainers that had obtained the badges on their adventures at some point prior to the events in Sword and Shield later becoming gym leaders themselves. That, or at the very least, pupils of those gym leaders who inherited the position of gym leader through some unknown official process. Rather than an Elite 4, the Pokemon League sponsors a periodic tournament in which those with the requisite gym badges and the gym leaders themselves would battle to see who was the strongest out of the bunch. Whoever won the tournament earned the right to battle the champion of the Galar region in the hopes that they may claim the title of champion.

yup exactly.
so i guess get the 4 strongest gym leaders and see how they fare.
i'm still so pissed we were robbed of the experience of fighting the elite 4 with unglitched music. i wasn't sure if it was a glitch or if the music really sucked that bad. i listened to the real version a while later and was so sad

There's no way in hell they're bringing back Megas. People liked them too much, and GF would call it "too much work", even if they were just importing the existing ones. I especially don't believe it because Megas would distract from Tera. I'll believe them bringing Z Moves back before Megas, it's way less work and because of how they work mechanically (1 shot, 1 turn), they wouldn't detract from Tera very much at all.
Is it less work? The Megas can probably be exported by models while the moves might need to be reworked if the physics changed. On the other hand god knows how badly the games are programmed for something that should be incredibly easy.

It would have been cool to have a safari minigame where you basically catch a fuck ton of wild pokemon and wholesale it for processing for massive profit.

It played fine on my end, but I was paranoid about the memory leak to the point where I was restarting the software every hour or so to purge the RAM. When it actually does work, it's a nice thing to have.

So, after seeing what Feucoco turned into, I kind of shuffled this game off into the 'fuck that' catagory, but I'm kind of curious, and the wife loves the new mons.

So, what say you, farmers, is S/V worth the purchase?

If you're willing to look past the performance issues and enjoy the gameplay? sure. Otherwise, no.

They've always talked about eating pokemon parts that drop off (like Slowpoke tails or that ice cream pokemon's "ice cream". (actually sweat?) I won't accept it as official that they harvest pokemon for slaughter until Gamefreak outright says it.

edit: Oh yeah, for those curious. My copy of Moon arrived two weeks ago and I have been enjoying it, taking things slow trying to grind for a living dex. One problem though, the story drags you through by a god damn leash. I don't think I could stand it if it weren't for the massive breaks I take at each route to catch the new mons. Its seriously Sword and Shield level bad with a useless rival, NPCs who never shut up and I'll be damned if nearly every trainer besides yourself doesn't have just a single pokemon (or, rarely, two.)

Skeledirge is awesome and I will not accept slander against him or his little pheonix buddy.

Larry best Gym Leader ever.

Just my luck by the time I pick up a copy of Scarlet this will have already been patched out:

It's a cheap tactic, but I like this bug because it's always satisfying to land a 1-hit K.O. move.

If I choose Fuecoco, I'm going to name it La Bamba (since Skeledirge is the Singer Pokemon, and I've had that song stuck in my head the past few days).
