Just my luck by the time I pick up a copy of Scarlet this will have already been patched out:

It's a cheap tactic, but I like this bug because it's always satisfying to land a 1-hit K.O. move.
Gonna have to hard disagree there. The fact they fucked up so bad that online battles are on a single RNG seed is far more telling of how slapped together the games really are. Removes all the satisfaction of landing an OHKO when you know it's going to land on turn 3 every single match.

As much as I hate Smogon for being a bunch of elitists, they're the only reason the current generation meta is even playable (Showdown), because right now in the games themselves, the entire meta is making sure you're faster when it's the turn for OHKO's to land.

To my knowledge, physics should have no effect whatsoever on the battles themselves, because they aren't even factored. All the attacks you see are scripted animations, not in game assets actually performing actions. In general turn based RPG's don't even have code to factor anything physics related beyond basic player input unless it explicitly applies to the Battle system or overworld presentation. While I don't know the state of their programming, Z moves would still be easier because in theory it should be as simple as importing the code and being done, while Mega's you have to factor take much more balancing into effect on top of updating all the models. Most of the Z Moves you could probably get away with not updating much graphically.

Galar was a little weird. Like in other games, Galar has a gym challenge in which trainers tackle each gym around the region for their badges. The gym leaders, I believe, were trainers that had obtained the badges on their adventures at some point prior to the events in Sword and Shield later becoming gym leaders themselves. That, or at the very least, pupils of those gym leaders who inherited the position of gym leader through some unknown official process. Rather than an Elite 4, the Pokemon League sponsors a periodic tournament in which those with the requisite gym badges and the gym leaders themselves would battle to see who was the strongest out of the bunch. Whoever won the tournament earned the right to battle the champion of the Galar region in the hopes that they may claim the title of champion.
Less character models to animate make blackscreens of.

Alola did this too but at least they had the excuse with the newfound league.

Skeledirge is awesome and I will not accept slander against him or his little pheonix buddy.

Larry best Gym Leader ever.

Larry suggests the zoomer audience if you are a regular guy with an office job, you're gonna kill yourself any minute. Instead, go for the happy-go-lucky streamer tranny lifestyle.

I mean, they are right about wagies being close to killing either themselves or someone else... I mean I was a wagey for a while, and I know for a fact that if stayed on for much longer I would have beat my boss to death with a crowbar (in minecraft.)

Yeah I found my second shiny accidentally from the auto-battle feature (A fucking slightly different colored Tropius). Maybe it will help with those 1 pixel long pokemon like the keys and the teacup.

S/V will be getting a patch tomorrow, with fixes which are TBA. I do wonder if they'll patch out the duping glitch, or the Ranked Battles using the exact same RNG seed.

For anyone interested in duping, make sure to disable auto-updates to software on your switch in case this coming patch removes that.

This doesn't do any good for anyone one who would want to use online features though. I would really only recommend doing so if you have a copy of both games, but I dunno if the patch will automatically apply to both. I know back in X/Y or S/M it was a single patch file that automatically applied to both, but the 3DS also wasn't really made with patches in mind, it was a pretty unique case for the time.

I don't expect much from this patch, some very slight performance fixes, but knowing how GF operates, the only thing I actually see getting fixed this time around is duping and the RNG Seed problem since the ranked season is starting. Part of me feels the RNG Seed issue is the only reason we're getting a patch so soon, but I am a pessimist by nature.

A better version of the Lv. 3 Sparking/Title/Encounter Power was posted on Twitter yesterday, there are some issues with the previous list that was posted there a few days ago.

I tested this out for Dark-types and I managed to get a Shiny Brute Bonnet and a Shiny Zweilous, I can only assume that the chances are much better for those with the Shiny Charm and/or abusing the Picnic Outbreak Method.
To be fair, their leader did hack the economy. If the Pokemon worlds version of the IRS was as ruthless as ours, they'd be labeled the most notorious and vile Terrorist Cult to ever exist.
I’d liken the League Point system to a cryptocurrency system rather than the fiat currency system that’s been in the games since Gen 1, it’s also worth noting that only certain vendors will accept League Points as payment.

In all honesty the only things I’d consider duping are Ability Patches. Herba Mystica would also be a shoe-in but since it’s a sandwich ingredient you can’t have your Pokémon hold ‘em.

Master Balls would also be an important item, since there doesn't appear to be a repeatable way to potentially get more of them (there's no Loto-ID in this game, which is another feature removed), I think, outside of creating another Switch profile and speed running the game.

Master Balls have kind of lost their luster with all of the recent Legendaries having higher catch-rates than past games (or being gifted to you outright), current Shiny hunting methods recommending that you save beforehand, and hackers often putting them onto their blatantly-hacked Shiny Pokémon before Wonder Trading ‘em. They’ve essentially become bragging rights trophies.

One group of items I could think of are Apricorn/Dream/Beast Balls but the first two can be obtained via Porto Marinada’s Auction House and all three Balls can be obtained on regular Pokémon via breeding. Another are Tera Shards but those are pretty easy to get if you do Tera Raids.

>Make an open world game where you can go anywhere and do anything
>You're required to get the badges before you can go places, otherwise your Pokemon won't obey you

I haven't played Pokemon recently. Is this a new thing that they did for this game, or has it been around for a while? It used to only be traded Pokemon that you needed badges for.

Edit: On the other hand, they also brought back my nigga Dunsparce and gave him an evolution.

The obedience level in S/V is now also based on the level of the Pokémon it was caught at. Also, if you don't have enough badges, Pokémon of higher levels will have a lower catch rate. So if say, you catch the high level overworld Garchomp, it will not obey until you have enough badges. GF did at least remove the flat-out catch level restriction (where the amount of badges determine which level Pokémon that you can capture) that was in Sw/Sh.

That also means that if you hatch a Pokémon from an egg, or if it's something like your Starter, you can still powerlevel it up EXP candies, and it will still obey.

They've always talked about eating pokemon parts that drop off (like Slowpoke tails or that ice cream pokemon's "ice cream". (actually sweat?) I won't accept it as official that they harvest pokemon for slaughter until Gamefreak outright says it.
Update, playing through Moon and NPC just said that Crabrawler claws drop off and regrow constantly.

That’s always been. However they updated it a bit. Niw the Badges effect care about the Level the Pokemon was originally caught at.

In short, you can catch early area Pokemon up to 25 and they will always obay without badges
