A teaser poster of the Ash vs. Leon battle has been posted:

I'm kinda mixed about Leon having the 3 Galar starters, for some reason.
So they make Champion-level characters get wrecked by him to avoid spoiling his whole team and this is what they choose? Should've just chosen the Rillaboom team.
Pretty sure the new generation anime has launched around the release of the games. I wonder what they'll do this time since Ash already went to a Pokemon school of sorts in Gen 7.

Choice Scarf Dracovish is terrifying. I'm not big on Choice items because I'm a indecisive autist who doesn't like being locked into a move, but Fisheous Rend is so powerful it doesn't matter if the target resists or not. Click the button to win 90% of matchups.

I'm still disappointed though that the "real" versions of the fossils weren't part of the DLC. An abandoned fossil lab dungeon with the returning fossils inside, then ending in a battle against a completed Galar fossil would've been sick.
While it is a shame, I've come to assume that's so they can pull on that particular thread later. Fossil pokemon aren't as easy to revisit as most pokemon, as the existence of regional variants kinda stumbles with fossils. I mean, you could make it so all the Claw and Root fossils unearthed in this region revive into a different Pokemon, but it could still feel very clunky.

Moreover, Cara Liss can only really do what she's doing when she's unchallenged in her theories. If people know that that's not how this works, she'd be outed as the mad scientist she is.

Lastly, eight fully evolved-tier pokemon with Mix and Match stats and types would probably feel like a LOT of sameness in any regional dex, let alone the more lean recent ones. By nature, each fixed form would share half it's stats with it's two half-forms. That's a lot to introduce all at once. Makes more sense to space it out a bit.

I think it's main inspiration is the cut Jhoto frog from the unused Pokedex for Gold & Silver.

I mean they already got some other Pokémon from that thing like the Farfetch'd & Girafarig evolutions. I also wonder if that is the final evolution or not?

That fucking Ditto face lol. I can see why Belibolt might be based on that beta artwork. Someone drew up a frog Pokemon for Gold and Silver and another guy got confused on the nostrils being eyes.

Apparently it might also be based on Avocados (which have great electric potential for a fruit... apparently),
Though, it should be noted that his research completely missed the Galvani experiments which had twitching frog legs with electric power, so there's at least one major factor he completely missed.

You know I mainly listen to YouTube videos & his is one of the only theory channels I listen too because he tries to use real world influences to explain why the funny Pokémon creature does what it does. Harmless, not lying or pulling shit out of his ass. However this guy has a real problem just dropping pseudo-intellectual takes out of the blue & he'll do it at least once a video. Like there's a Jolteon video & he said something along the lines of "People keep voting for oil executives to personally kill polar bears & minorities."
1. Nigger you are talking about Jolteon how did you get to this point?
2. Yeah personally, I'm sure all the oil business executives are out there hunting down all the polar bears & POCs of the world, personally.
He's almost a stereotype, a hyper consumer, overdosed blue pill, influencer who isn't as smart as he thinks he is.

Lockstin is one of two youtubers that I actively watch despite putting in bullshit like that into their videos (the other being HTD, a cocktail youtuber). I don't know if he's paying lip service to the woke cathedral as part of his contract with mammon or if he honestly thinks the quips are funny, but its usually only one eyeroll per video which hasn't been enough to turn me off yet.

I almost feel sorry for the guy, he seems pigeon holed into Pokemon content, but some of his alternate videos about other subjects are damn entertaining. He has some talent to make good infotainment, but is stuck on that Youtube treadmill because he thinks the alt sites are for the evil far-right. Real shame.

It's probably the videogame series I am most knowledgeable about. Oftentimes the behind-the-scenes details on the franchise can be really fascinating, especially considering that the franchise itself was a short ways away from never coming out during the development of Red and Green(Almost lost all of their data once, six years of development hell, no one close to the team having confidence in them making a game for a 7-year old handheld system that was at it's lowest point popularity-wise, one third of the staff of Game Freak resigning, ect)

Funnily enough, it actually isn't my favorite game series. I can't really consider any of the games mind-blowingly good, but it's like a comfort food of sorts, something familiar and predictable in many ways, and has many addicting qualities to it that make it possible for me to even replay my least favorite titles in the mainline series without feeling like I'm torturing myself.
What is your favourite game series, though?

Some new details from SV revealed.

It appears that the embargo for the media event for content creators, that took place in New York, has been lifted, which is why you are seeing all of this new info come out:

One issue that was brought up, mainly in the NintendoLife video, is the performance issues with the game. The videos from the people that played the English version of the game, said that they were playing on an older build, as the previews from the Japanese videos don't appear to have the same performance issues. However, the "this is not the final build" statement is worrying, given that it's bringing flashbacks to Battlefield 2042's beta, where DICE said that it is on a 3 month old build of the game, and we all know how that game turned out. It also resembles what happened with the My Wedding Stories Game Pack for The Sims 4, where the devs and EA Creator Network people, said that the extremely buggy game footage was from an earlier build of the game, and not in the final version of the pack, and yet all of the bugs were in the actual release of the GP.

Also, the videos included pre-provided footage from Nintendo/Game Freak/TPCi, as content creators were not allowed to record footage of their gameplay, to prevent leaks. Joe from Serebii mentioned that he found a Shiny Skiddo while playing the game.

I am reminded of all of the talk regarding Sword and Shield, supporters justifying the pre-release footage by claiming tha the footage was not of the final build!

It's almost hilarious how people still believe the "It's still in beta bro" nonsense. If the game is coming out next month and it still runs like garbage then it's going to run like garbage.

Barring fixing some obscure bug that was causing YUUGE lags, those last-minute changes are almost definitely not possible so late in the development pipeline, especially since there is the need of making the master, printing all of the copies complete with packaging, and coordinating to stores. Th is not 1996, where Satoshi could secretly add Mew after getting rid of all of the debug material; game systems are WAY more complex these days.

With that said, if the performance issues are only in one language version and the Japanese version is already in place, that does imply the fix is in. It may end up being a day 0 patch, though.

It’s certainly not the first time pokemon’s done that. People were bemoaning the midis of BDSP, but the day 1 patch replaced them with the new versions that had already been in the trailers.

Digging the design for Greavard (granted I'm biased, Ghost is my favorite typing and I like dogs):

I like the jack-o-lantern mouth design they gave it. Just hope its evolution is great, too.

It appears that the Taiwanese game cover for S/V may have been leaked. There's no confirmation yet if the leaker has the game cartridge as well, or if the game box is only for display:

This does seem to line up with how someone got a copy of Sword/Shield early (11/1), and leaked the game.
