Newtwo has her fans and I get that, but the 16th movie fucked up Mewtwo's lore in the anime so much, it's an actual headache. I just cannot see there being two Mewtwos at once that doesn't involve him banging another Pokémon (though the baby takes after its mother anyway even if he were to hatefuck a Mew, so...) or he regrows his massive ego and goes all Bride of Frankenstein. This concept only got a pass in fan fiction because one: it's fucking fan fiction, and two: the fans actually gave legit explanations for there being a second (usually female) Mewtwo or the fabled Mewthree. The movie never did any of that, nor did it once explain the concept of Mega Evolution, and it still irks me.

I feel like Mewtwo wouldn't "lie" to his body (and himself) like that, though he might think he looks repulsive and therefore doesn't want to see what he looks like, even as a female.
X&Y hadn't yet come out, and Mega Evolution hadn't yet been revealed when the Corocoro leak happened (this might explain why Pokémon: The Origin had Mega Charizard X in it as the "proper" Mega Evolution reveal), but yeah, it was just overall awfully executed.

Believe it or not gen 5 isn’t a sacred cow, it still gets heavily criticized a lot in the fanbase. Not to mention the dex still gets a lot of hate to this day. Unova starters are still considered shit tier, Cheren and Bianca are pretty divisive, and Hugh is widely despised even by the most hard core gen 5 fan. You’re more likely to see people defend Hop and Hau over him. Even the gen 6 kids don’t get as much hate, the worst you see is people calling them boring.
There two ways to look at this.
Option 1 at least I can see happening, though Mewtwo would try to take responsibility given he was like a parent to his superclones. Option 2 is what ended up being the case in the movie, but it was still fucking stupid because it created a huge gaping plot-hole among other plot-holes.
Mewtwo is a GMO due to the gaps in Mew's DNA and that enhancing the genes for the purpose of power caused the mutation, though in the games, it's implied that the fetus was a legit Mew until scientists fucked around with its genetic makeup. What the genes were were never specified, though Pokémon Adventures had it be where Blaine used his own cells to fill in the genetic gaps, therefore making Mewtwo part-human.
More then Royally pissed. If he doesn't just end the second mewtwo on the spot, the whole region would go up flames, just alone from the psychic nuke of a battle between the two.
